Great Aldi. A lot of things were still available even with the upcoming Texas freeze. While other places were lacking certain items, Aldi had essentials, like milk and eggs, in stock. Parking lot is spacious. And even though I forgot my quarters, the team was willing to exchange my dollar for some quarters. read more

I typically love aldi, and they save me so much money, but this location sucks. They have like two people working there, so the shelves are always a mess and there's always a line a mile long. They also must have temperature issues in the coolers, because the produce goes bad way too fast, and the dairy is often bad when you open it, even if it isn't past the expiration date. I go shopping every week, so it's not like I'm expecting things to stay fresh for weeks. So, unfortunately, I had to stop shopping here, because even though they're so much cheaper, I'm not really saving any money if half of my food goes bad before I can eat it. read more

Feb 2024, Temple location it seems smaller than the other Aldi's I've visited. I enjoy going to Aldi but this location didn't make me feel happy. It's unorganized, out of stock, and their produce section didn't look fresh. Lots of moldy fruits on the shelf and the layout of the store seemed odd to me. I guess I really like my Killeen ALDIs better. It was nice to visit another location and I drove 45 mins in the pouring rain to be disappointed. read more

I went to Aldi and stand in front of the Christmas ornaments and about 4-5 boxes of wood ornaments felt into my foot and hurt myself. A customer had to call a cashier to remove the boxes. They fill an accident form and its being 5 days and nobo has contact me. I had to go to emergency care and have to pay with my insurance. Aldi Supermarket has a safety issue. read more

The employees seem to be a little agitated and rude most of the time but this is a very efficient operation and low cost for most consumers. You grab your shopping cart and stick a quarter inside the slot to unlock it. There's no Baggers or employees fetching stray shopping carts outside because of the efficient system of the quarter deposit. This is a great system because it keeps the overhead prices down and cuts the fat of unnecessary and bloated labor costs. The next time you go to HEB or Walmart look at how many unproductive employees are getting paid by the hour chit chatting and loafing around while us consumers are paying their wages with overpriced goods. There are very few National Brands inside the store but that's where they've found their niche. The store brands that they do offer are even cheaper than most competitors store brands and without the added synthetic colors and ingredients. My wife and I are learning as we go in terms of some items being subpar which are very few. The majority of items are as high quality or if not higher than most national Brands out there at a fraction of the cost. They don't offer plastic or paper bags like other stores so you will either need to bring your own or you can purchase a cheap reusable plastic bag for $0.10 each. This store will give you the most value for your money and it's a refreshing emerging trend of which other competitors should take note. read more

Quality food at excellent prices. They always have a lot of produce and fresh spring mix. I came a long time ago and they didn't have as much produce but now they have a lot!! They also have great wine for 2.95. It's small, has everything you need, and you can get in and out quickly. Their wonderful food, small store, and great prices makes grocery shopping fun. I keep reusable bags in my car but you can usually grab an empty cardboard box or buy a couple of their 10 cent bags if you need them. Try the Mediterranean seasoned salmon, spring mix, your favorite salad toppings, pasta/ravioli with a simple sauce, and winking owl Sauvignon blanc for a fantastic evening. Healthy, enjoyable food doesn't have to be expensive. I love Aldi! read more

Visited this store in Texas during a natural disaster. Store was packed as everyone was searching for available food. One large line was formed for only two open registers. An extremely rude, vulgar, disrespectful, incompetent, ignorant woman decided to announce LOUDLY that she was forming "my own damn line!" to cut in front of 20+ elderly, patiently lined up, customers waiting to check out. I did not buckle to her bullying, arrogant, unyielding insults she decided to sling at me, instead it was my turn and I walked up to the belt and set my items down. She very loudly said "I know you see me standing here!" To which I replied "you're clearly not blind and see the 20 other people standing in line, carrying heavy armfuls of groceries too, yet here you are." She refused to move like the arrogant pompous disgusting human that she was, and continued to sling vulgar insult after vulgar insult. I did not back down to this bully one single time. Instead a store employee came over and TOOK HER ahead of all the other customers, to an EMPTY lane that wasn't open, and let her check out before the now 30 people in line waiting their turn. Instead, they came to ME and asked ME to quiet down, the person DEFENDING herself from the trash slinging insults at people, told ME to settle down, and decided to cater to the bully that was belittling and insulting every single other person standing there waiting. The management didn't tell her to go get at the end of the line just like every other customer had done for an hour before her just waiting their turn. They didn't step in and protect the other elderly people waiting, they didn't help every other customer, they catered to THIS bullying insult slinging trash, and disregarded every single other patron inside their store. It was disgusting, it was unprofessional, and it was the utmost worst display of any customer service I have ever experienced, and I have shopped at both ALDI in the US & in Europe. I hope someone far up the chain sees the absolute abhorrent inaction of the employees at this store & removed whatever pitiful excuse for management that is supposed to "manage" this store because they lack all common sense and ALL customer service. read more

Nice to see Aldi coming to Texas! As a native Yankee, Aldi is one store from home that I miss. I miss it so much that I drove an hour to get here! This is a good looking new store, pretty big for an Aldi. All of the Aldi brand favorites are here like my favorite $1.99 Mama Cozzi pizzas. As always, pantry staples and fresh produce are far cheaper than any other store. For example, cucumbers are 25 cents at Aldi, versus 58 cents on sale at HEB right now. Bananas are always 37 cents per pound. For me, the produce department is where I see the most savings. However, pantry staples are always about 25% less than other stores, even Walmarts. Your basic canned goods, cooking suppies, milk, eggs, etc - all cheaper here. Aldi is owned by Trader Joes so the house brands are actually quality, and if you don't care for them, Aldi has a double guarantee in which they not only replace the product but also refund you. So it can't hurt to try it. In visiting here, it was clear that most folks have no idea how Aldi works, so allow me to walk a newb through it: Bring a quarter with you. You need a quarter to unchain a shopping cart to go inside. Bring your reusable tote bags, there are no bags at Aldi, at all. (Well, you can buy reusable bags there, but there Aldi does not bag your groceries nor provide you with bags to do it yourself. Your cashier will literally dump your scanned items loosely back into a shopping cart.) When you check out, there is a counter alongside the wall for you to bag your groceries conveniently. Bring cash or a debit card. Aldi does accept SNAP benefits, too. No check writing baloney or credit cards slowing things down for the rest of us at Aldi, hooray. When you have bagged your groceries and gotten them into your car, return your cart to retrieve your quarter. You can't get 100% of your groceries at Aldi, but I've found I can get about 75% of items there and you'll save a bunch of money doing so. Hope Aldi spreads to more areas in Texas! read more

I couldn't be happier that this place popped up in my hometown. I cannot wait for Aldi to come to Austin. Given how small the store is, the selection is amazing and the prices can't be beat. Every time I visit home, I stock up on chips, crackers, WINE!, cheese, toiletries, frozen food, and random staples that aren't even carried by Big Lots. The only complaint I have (and I'll complain sparingly because I'm sure it's part of keeping the cost low) is the check out process. The checkers aren't very friendly and the way it's rigged makes it difficult to share a basket with someone else. Plus, they scan and toss the groceries into the cart so quickly that they don't pay attention to what's being smashed in the process. BEWARE: Only cash or debit cards are accepted! Oh. My. Gosh!! So, I had heard of this place, but never realized there was one located within a reasonable driving distance of my house! I can't even begin to describe how absolutely AMAZING this place is! Most of their prices are insanely cheap and their products high quality. Just to give an example: -Milk $1.50 / gal -Eggs $1.85 / doz -Cheese $1.79 / block -Wine $2.84 / bottle (And, it's GOOD!) -Butter $1.79 / lb I have a $300 / month grocery budget for my family of 4 and use to base our meals off of the HEB ad so we could stay in budget. Since I started buying everything but diapers, meat and some produce at Aldi's we end up with an extra $60-$100 in our grocery budget every month. They don't have very many 'name brand' items, but everything I've purchased compares in quality, specifically their coffee, toilet paper, dairy and cereal / snack foods. The ONLY complaint I've had is that their pre-bagged salads aren't always worth purchasing because they look like they've accidentally been frozen and thawed. When they don't have this issue though, they're fresher than HEB. Literally every item I've purchased (minus canned veggies and some fresh produce) has been .30¢+ cheaper than HEB, but I do make sure to check the ads because that isn't always the case with fresh produce. If you haven't been here, you need to check it out! Some things to know before you go: 1. Take a quarter with you. They have a VERY minimal amount of staff and therefore keep prices low by having less overhead. Since they don't have the workforce to chase shopping carts all day, you 'rent' your shopping cart for a quarter and when you take it back after unloading your groceries, you get your quarter back. 2. Take reusable bags. Again with the 'less overhead' thing. They don't have bags and to keep up with their customers, they quickly scan you items and place them in the basket. After you pay, they have a huge counter where you can sort everything into your bags as you see fit. 3. Apparently, they don't take checks or credit cards. This isn't an issue for me as my card can be ran as debit or credit, but it may pose a problem for others. read more

This place is Great !! Quility of the products incredible . Price s way to good to be true . I can't say enough good stuff. Between Aldis an Sams Club . I have no use for Heb or any of the other chains. Go check it out . The cheese , breads,Dips , spices , oils, crackers , olives , pickles, milk. My typical $150. Weekly grocery list has gone down to $50 a week honestly. A lot of the prices are better quility then my old brands. I was clearly paying for labels & packaging. Don't take my word for it . I am a big fan of this grocery store so I had to stop while in the area. As you walked in the store set up is similar to the others. This one seems unkempt and not organized. They have the same items I go for and its efficiency cant be beat. However so far this is my least favorite location. There was only one cashier and no sense of urgency from others to assist. I'll still buy at Aldi because regardless of what I mentioned before, their prices can't be beat. I just will not be visiting this location again. read more

First of all, I LOVE shopping at Aldi. Like the products and the ease of shopping. Second of all, I have been a dog owner for about 60 years. Love dogs. But on January 30 a customer had a chihuahua riding in the grocery cart. And it was NOT a service dog. And even if it was a service dog, a grocery cart is no place for it. I was repulsed. This has to break all kinds of health and cleanliness codes. I informed the checker, as there was no one else to file a complaint to, and she agreed that it was indeed disgusting. But nothing was done about it because I couldn't find a manager. I refuse to shop in a store where I have to put my groceries where a dog's a** has been rubbing around. Sick! Gross! Nasty! And the nerve of someone who would do this. Leave the dog in the car or leave it at home. PERIOD! read more

I love this grocery store :) It's simple but diverse. It has everything you need with enough choices to satisfy, but not too many to overwhelm. The quality and service is great. Just make sure you have a quarter for the cart (you get it back when you return it) and bring your own bags. The prices are the best. Aldi is awesome. We now buy our produce and milk from here because it is much cheaper than HEB and Walmart. Be sure to carry a quarter to pull out a cart and bring your own shopping bags because they don't provide plastic bags, which is fine with me since it's more environmentally-friendly.
