I'm a little biased, because I've been buying Walker honey from Natural Grocers for years after trying other local honey brands that just don't compare. This is the best honey in Texas, if not the entire US. We finally made it to visit the official farm this weekend for the summer trivia night - it was a blast! Our family had so much fun. The staff and other trivia attendees were incredible, good sports, and by the end of trivia we felt like we were part of the Walker honey family. It was fun to visit the shop - we loved seeing the live bees making honey, we got to sample all different honey flavors, and the shop had many unique things that we ended up bringing some home with us - honey soaps, honey sticks, praline candy, books on wildflowers, kitchen gear, etc. The food and all of the drinks we tried were also very good. We tried the honey sodas - butterbeer and honey root beer - both great. The meadarita also excellent. If you get a charcuterie tray - definitely add the honeycomb for $3!! It's a must try. You might end up bringing a whole extra one home after trying it. The spinach and garlic dip with tortilla chips - also great. We have no complaints - what an awesome experience! Definitely hoping they host more Saturday trivia nights in the future. read more

My dad absolutely devours the guayacan and I was finally brought here. They had free honey samples, 5 for $1 flavored honey straws, and 5 for $2 flavored pralines, along with so many other goodies. I picked up my two nucs from Walker, yesterday. Wow! The staff were ready. They checked us in, loaded us up, and we were on our way in 2 minutes. Professional, courteous service. The nuc boxes were state of the art. No loose bees and tough heavy plastic. It was the quality of the queen that will make me come back to Walker in the future. Thanks! read more

Very nice place, small but provides many options. Will definitely take advantage of bulk honey in the future!

Great selection of natural honeys. Helpful staff. You can sample most of the flavors to make sure you like what you buy. Highly recommend!!

We have come here for many years to purchase honey and are always treated so well by the people that work here. In addition to the honey, we got some creamed honey with Hatch chilies and it is amazing. We also enjoy some of the wines (blackberry and Texas Two Step) and I just feel good about supporting a local small business. read more

Located right off highway 190, Walker Honey Farm boasts a gift shop, Dancing Bee Winery, and plenty of parking space. The outdoor area is cute, with covered seating (seating is available indoors as well), pretty landscaping, and even a silly bee cutout for photo opportunities. You can also camp, take a tour, they have honey and/or wine clubs, and occasionally host a trivia night. For a store dedicated to honey, I was surprised to find theirs so large! They offer truffles, caramels, and other treats, plus their own wine, mead, root beer, and snacks with which to enjoy them. Additionally, bath and body products, candles, a variety of gifts, and apparel. As far as honey goes, it takes up a hefty section, and you can sample probably twenty types. Some are theirs, some are harvested elsewhere. I snagged a big bottle of Huajillo, a variety exclusive to Southern Texas, made from an acacia related shrub (which is actually Guajillo, so not sure about the spelling of that honey!). It was mild, and truly tasted buttery - so, so delicious. Whatever kind of honey you fall in love with, you have the option of many sizes, and a few are even available in bulk to fill your own container. Along with standard honey, they have the creamed form, honeycomb, wax, and bee pollen. Prices are average. My sister mentioned the employees on her first visit to Walker were quite brusque, and attributed it to arriving shortly before the day's closure. Sadly, though we stopped by early afternoon, our experience was mirrored as I too found them unfriendly. They did not greet us, instead watching our movements with hawk eyes, never a pleasant experience when shopping. There was a sense that they expected customers to be very serious, and our excited (but never nearing boisterous!) group offended them. Besides this, we had a great time, but I would encourage them to work on improving customer service. read more

I thought it was a mirage. Winery in Rogers, TX? I decided to try it out......approaching it like any other roadside curiosity; snake farms, world's largest ball of yarn, buried Cadillacs. I wasn't disappointed at the weirdity. Basic business premise is to mix honey with anything, and it must be good! Um, sorry guys, but not for me. Plus the wine you're using is quit horrible without honey; The mixture is horrible sweet wine. Tasting does not offer heated Mulled wine, the only way it is potentially drinkable. Why? We will never know, but the very personable, charming, honey-blonde Rachel does as much as legally possible to improve the experience. read more

I purchased a 1 pound of honey in the glass jar from Walker honey farms. I would like to help save the environment and take my empty 1 pound jar to get refilled. However after calling Walker honey farms I was told I could not refill my 1 pound glass jar and that it needed to be a 1.5 pound jar or larger. This is very disappointing. It's such a nice glass honey jar with a cork on top. read more

I bought a gallon of buckwheat and other honey a few times from these guys. Price was lower than my usual place. However, buckwheat is very thin and doesn't crystallize. Anyone who knows a bit about honey can be alerted by that. For the first gallon I got, it's been over a year in colder climate until I saw a little thickening. The second has gone through a couple of colder months and is still runny like water. read more

I created an account here on Yelp just to leave a well deserve review on this store but specially for one of their staff members her name is Maria. She made my mom, aunt and myself have the most wonderful experience in our first time doing a wine tasting. She made it so easy and everything she recommended we loved, her energy was great. We ended up buying 7 bottles in total. We left so happy and we are recommending Walker Honey Farm to everyone we know because of the experience we had with Maria. We'll be back soon for sure! read more

The ladies who own this farm and winery are as sweet as their honey. This is a wonderful place to relax, reflect, and share some amazing mead and wines. We come every month or so to get local honey to help with allergies. They have several varieties on tap, so you can even bring your own bottle. Take your time to shop, there are so many treasures to find. Who knew honey was so versatile? Make sure your take a peek at the resident bee hive! read more

Walker Honey Farm is a family owned business that started in 1930 with 150 bee hives. The farm store and winery (meadery) are delightful to visit. You can say hi to some of the bees inside the store. The store has a wide variety of bee related goods. They have many different flavors of honey to choose from. You can sample the honey for free inside. The honey is unprocessed and raw. If you bring your own container, you can fill it up with some of their more popular flavors from the casks in the back. On the other side of the store is the tasting area for the Dancing Bee winery. There is a pizza truck outside that serves up wood fired pizza (find the schedule online). They also have a great farmers market 2x a year. read more

Full disclosure, I've never been to the store. I've purchased several gallons of honey from them as well as several friends. They carry excellent honey. As a mead maker, I try to get the best quality ingredinets possible. Walker honey is exceptionally good. Bright Orange Blossom Honey characters and nice and rich notes from their Buckwheat Honey. But this review is for something else. When I purchased online several gallons of honey, UPS charged me an "X" amount. I didn't seem too distraught over it. Low and behold I received an email stating that UPS charged too much when they shipped my order. I didn't ask for a shipping quote. They just did it and refunded a portion of the shipping charges. Its really hard to find honest quality customer service. Even more when your not expecting it. For reasons like this, its an easy decision to continue buying honey from Walker. read more

Walker Honey Farm - Peanut butter with honey, wildflower honey, & honey straws! - Farmers Market Near Me - Rogers, Texas

I cannot remember where I bought their peanut butter and hones, walker farms, but pretty sure it was Boggy Creek Farms. I am blind and a friend took me there. When I opened it it smelled rancid. I could not eat it. I emailed the company and they told me there was an expiration date on the jar which I could not find and could not find after they told me where it was. They said once it left them, they were not responsible for the product and I would have to take it up with where I bought it. So I will have a friend drive me that distance to the farm to replace it. Maybe they don't sell that much and it was on the shelf too long and rotted. Any I paid $9.00 for this honey and everything about the product and service of the company has been unpleasant, a nightmare. So there. read more

Do yourself a huge favor and go check them out! This is one of the most amazing eco-tourist businesses! The 3 generational family bee-keeping farm started decades ago has been expanded to include a vineyard. They have honey on tap!! You can bring your own clean container (must be qt size or larger) and select from several types. The staff fill it for you and you get awesome honey at amazing prices. The store has a vast array of honey products as well as gift items. At their wine bar you can order to sip and sit there or taste a few samples to decide what to buy to take home. I was in town for the weekend from GA. Otherwise, I would be here most weekends!! read more

What a GREAT, GREAT Central Texas Business! I have personally come to the Walker Honey Farm 3 different times, all for special group occasions. The whole staff has always treated us like royalty! I was amazed this past October 15th to see the parking lot crawling with individuals and groups brought in by the surrounding towns to experience the down-home feeling indicative of fine Central Texas folks like the Walkers and their superior staff. My college buddies and I have met there all three times and just had a blast! Their participation in Harvest Host is great as well, as we have used that part of the business two of the three trips. So the people are great... I can't say enough about the products they market in he store. Obviously... "The Honey"! WOW! I love honey, and their huge selection of honey variations is mind boggling! All I can say is. "bring on the Green Chili Honey"!!! Incredible! Make it a point to stop in and see them if you are anywhere even remotely close. You won't be sorry! I have not visited the farm itself, but had the pleasure of trying their products at the annual Texas Mead Fest (if you haven't been, do check it out!). I picked up some honey turkey jerky, which was a bit peppery for me and I wish had been sweeter, and also some tangerine spreadable honey. It had a good flavor, but I was not creative enough to find enough purposes for it; I think next time I would get plain. I also purchased a cute bottle of their Dancing Bee Winery Texas Two Step pyment (part grape wine, part honey mead) and enjoyed samples of other mead. I'll have to visit the farm sometime and give the jerky another try, but I do recommend the mead! read more
