This is such a great place. Both the restaurant and the shop have amazing service and provide top notch food. I've been here a few times when passing through (because honestly, that's all you do -- pass by on your way to somewhere else) and it's always amazing. Everyone is kind and friendly. It's a no frills kind of place but certainly worth the drive. It's always clean and well kept so I never have any hesitation about stopping. 10/10 Highly recommend. I especially love the summer sausage and always grab some for the trip home. read more

Had breakfast here with my wife and a friend, first time here so it was an experience. They have a meat market on one side with plenty of different types of Sausage, jarred sauces, beans and jams and preserves and then loads of pastries and kolcahes. On the other side is the restaurant with a lot of good atmosphere to go along with it. I had the breakfast plate with Over Medium eggs, sausage and potatoes. Potatoes were over cooked on one side, sausage was not hot as it just came off the grill, eggs were perfect. Wife had Sausage and Gravy with biscuits, this was nothing memorable to here did not jump out to here. Our friend had the omelette, which was very large and it seemed to be alright from here stand point. Service was great waitress was Johnny on the spot for anything we may have needed. thank you. read more

Another great lunch meal, got the Chicken Fried Steak as opposed to the usual catfish platter. Same great service, friendly small town atmosphere, and tasty, tasty food. Opted for the mashed potatoes and green beans, gravy on the steak, and it was like I was a kid again, eating at relative's houses way back when. Nothing super fancy, just good honest food! Tip: if you go to pay on the cafe side, and they're too busy, you can go over to the store side and pay there. read more

Wow the meat selections on the store side are incredible. Love both the regular and jalapeño jerky! On the restaurant side, they have a very large menu. All the prices are incredibly inexpensive. I don't think that I've ever had a sausage sandwich. It tasted like the one that I ate. It was very delicious and the onion rings were spectacular. I will plan to visit here again! read more

Casual local spot where the service is friendly and the food comes out piping hot and in generous portion. Saturdays are peak busy times but if you come off hours or during the week, the dining room is much less crowded. Save room for sweets from the bakery in their store!!! read more

My husband likes coming here as a nostalgic experience from childhood to get the sausage burger. The burgers are good, nothing special. The service both times seemed like we were bothering them by being there. It was honestly a meh experience both times I've been here, but it is cheap so that's a plus. read more

This place is just the cutest! A must stop when traveling through! This place has been open since 1946, they wrap all the meat you buy with wax paper, they have the best assortment of kolache's to choose from, & cinnamon rolls the size of your face! They can accommodate large groups in their back room. And the staff is just sweet as pie. I stop through for a quick bite frequently. read more

Best sausage house in Texas! Love the sausage kolaches, cheese kolaches, ham and cheese kolaches...just order any kind of kolaches and you won't be disappointed. They also have great breakfast sausage links. They make some of the best red wax cheddar cheese. The beef fajitas are amazing. If I lived closer I would be there 2-3 times a week. Hands down one of my favorite places to visit in Texas. read more

Let me be clear, I know my review won't stop folks from coming to the beloved Greens. Especially in the climate we live in today. Noone stands up for others ...many don't even respect themselves. Anywho, here's my experience today. I had a guest from out of town so I decided to bring him to Greens to have some good food. Yes, it's good! Unfortunately he stood at the counter and the woman rudely said just a minute when he got her attention. Let me say, they were busy. They always are...BUT a minute later he stepped back (he is a black man) a white man stepped up to the counter and was serviced immediately.... well he tried one more time and the same thing happened. The lady, a waitress I guess, rudely said just a minute. Well seeing that she had time to help "her kind" I directed my guest to the door. I am a white woman myself. I can clearly see who is welcomed and who is not. Furthermore I see that there are other reviews implying the same. It won't matter to many and won't impact this beloved business but I won't be driving 20 minutes again to patronize this business. I won't recommend it to anyone any further. I am very disappointed that in 2024 human beings are treated this way. 2 stars because this was employee as far as I know and the food is still good. Would give more but if the employee feels this comfortable treating ppl of color this way on many occasions I'm going to assume the business owners are okay with it. 2 stars is giving the benefit of the doubt and not leaving just 1 star. read more

Great food at a reasonable price! The restaurant offers table dining, and they also have a counter where customers can sit. I enjoy the counter as the servers are always right there and you might see someone you know as customers come and go. Excellent service. They keep a check on you and make sure you always have everything you need. You'll never have to go looking for your server here. It's a country atmosphere and they keep it the dining area very clean. They keep the restrooms well-stocked and clean. Every time one of the kitchen employees steps out of the kitchen, you see them wash their hands before they go back. Their aprons are surprisingly clean, and they always have a smile for you. The food is served hot and fresh. The portions are big enough to satisfy me, and I have a big appetite. They don't mind special requests. They aim to please. We had the barbeque brisket sandwiches with sweet potato fries. The fries were some of the best sweet potato fries we've ever had. The barbeque is top notch. There is a retail side where you can buy fresh meats made on site. Their sausage is the stuff of legend. You have to be very lucky to stop by and not find a long line at the counter. They are just that good. This is the place people go to in order to get meat for their family gatherings and other special occasions. You can count on these folks to not let you down. They will make you look good at any family reunion or business function. They even sell fresh bakery items like bread and desserts. If you want good meat done right, these folks have you covered! read more

Good food, probably won't be back though due to the cashier lady in the store being very rude to my mother

We drove for what seemed like a million miles to get here on the recommendation of two different friends. By the time we got here I was starving and grouchy. They were pretty busy so it took a minute for service. The service is friendly. But let's talk about the food. If you're a real southerner you love fried food. This place definitely fits the bill. I had a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes with southern green beans. It's off the hook! I loved it so much I can't wait to make the long drive back to try something else. They grind their own meat they make their own sausage. My chicken fried steak was hand battered in the gravy was awesome! My husband had a burger which was also fresh ground. It was delicious. The onion rings were amazing. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my meal here. Right next to the restaurant inside is a meat counter and a little store. That meat counter was slammed the whole time we were here. Our server was Shirley. She's been working here for 39 years! She was sweet and made the experience even better. We will be back for sure! read more

My sons live in College Station. Lucky me. That means every time I visit them, I get to drive by Green's Sausage House. Of course I stop. I have never gotten anything I didn't love at Green's. My personal favorites are the boudin, cheese and jalapeño sausage, 'red' wieners, and pepper jack cheese. My grandkids love the beef sticks. If I'm hungry, I grab a snack to enjoy on my ride. The boudin Kolache, jalapeño & cheese Kolache, or any of the fruit options are my favs. For large gatherings, a meat & cheese tray is always a hit. HIGHLY recommended. read more

The food was good. I had a cheeseburger and fries and my dad had the hamburger steak with fries and salad. He said his was really good. The service was ok. I would've like to had a water refill but they got really busy. My main complaint was how long it took to get a table, then to finally get a menu , then to get our drink order , then to take our order and finally bring out our food out. You definitely don't wanna come here when you're starving to death because they take their time and the waitresses don't get in any hurry to clean the tables when we first walked in there was hardly anybody in there, but there was probably five or six tables that were dirty and needed to be cleaned off. I think they stagger taking people's orders or something because I noticed that they were doing that to everybody so I don't know if they only have one cook back there or what's going on. You may be waiting 30 to 45 minutes from the time you walk in to when you get your food read more

We just had bacon and sausage so yummy! The best I have ever had! Definitely will be back!

OMG the steaks and sausages that I got on Wed this week, am taking them to my new place in NC...but that is not the reason for this,,, they ladies that I dealt with yesterday were the bomb...I accidentally left my debit card on the counter and when I called them Thursday they had it.. Been passing this place for a while now, guess I will continue to pass the place. I walked in and stood inside the door on the cafe side. The servers, all of them, kept walking around me without a single acknowledgment. Not a hey what do you want, what are you doing here or why are you standing there looking at us. So I walked over to the meat counter and just looked around. For no real reason. Just because I felt really stupid on the other side. Went back over and stood some more. Finally someone asked if I needed anything. Sure, I'd like a table so I can eat lunch. She said I could have sat myself. Well, since no one even acknowledged my presence, how would I know that. I had really hi hopes for this place. Guess I'll never know..... read more

If you a fan of meats, fresh, smoked, squeezed into plumb sausages, this is the place. We've visited three times so far, picked up tasty dried sticks, frozen ground beef , hot links, breakfast sausage and this particular trip, pork chops. The frozen chops come wrapped in iconic white paper, four to a pack. Once thawed and unwrapped , these beauties walked the runway straight into my seasoned flour and hot oil. They are at least an inch thick. Nice fat cap and plenty of lean " other" white meat. Once prepared with buttermilk mashed potatoes topped with golden brown fried onions, sage flavored gravy and steamed spinach, topped with butter, this simple feast did not disappoint. These were the most tender, juicy chops since we last visited Perry's restaurant in austin. Each forkful, seduced into another bite, and another. My husband's clean plate ( and mine), capped a most delicious story!!! Bon appetite' read more

Delicious food reasonably priced. Very busy here on a Saturday afternoon. Quaint dining room, clean restroom, hot food made to order. I recommend the hamburger and onion rings. I gave 4/5 stars because we waited 30 minutes for our food to come out- it was lunch rush hour though. But the food is delicious and worth the wait. Clean bathrooms, this is a backroad treasure! When you're finished eating, head across the restaurant to the store and purchase some rat cheese, beef sticks, kolaches, and jarred condiments. They have any and every thing you could possibly imagine! read more
