This was the first HEB location I visited after moving to Killeen. There's a total of 3 locations. I'm not completely sure, but this location might be the newest one based on the look, parking lot size, and the fact that it has the BBQ restaurant inside. Great location just off the highway. Staff is always helpful when you can't find an item and the store is big and spacious. A great location to try when the other locations are out of stock of something. A giant spacious HEB that Killeen has been missing for ages. I don't recall when this was built, but the community was grateful for it. It's fantastic. It's the biggest and shiniest HEB in the city yet. Since it's so new it has that new and vibrant atmosphere. Everything is spacious, bright, super clean, and energizing. If someone told me that you could eat off the floor of this location, I'd believe it. The staff is all friendly, but be mindful of the curbside shoppers, their racks take up a bit of space, but they're quick so they'll be out of the way in a minute. The shelves are all well stocked and like any HEB the prices are fair, be on the lookout for 50% off stickers in the produce section and the yellow coupons in the aisles. This is my "go to" HEB that I go to. Everytime I try a different HEB, they don't have certain items. At least this one always has it. You can imagine that I have to go back into my car and drive out to this location. I've decided that I should just make it here first if I want to make sure I got everything. This H‑E‑B is my absolute favorite. They're always stocked up on food, and the ambience is always clean. I've never had a problem with them not having some thing in stock. You can get sushi here and it's always fresh. I like to also get the deli foods and meal prep meals! They also carry a lot of work out powders from proteins to pre-workout! They even have a cute Christian book stand where you can find different books on Christianity and Jesus Christ. I absolutely love that. They have numerous plants in the garden section with different vegetable seeds and soil. They even have a fig tree I fell in love when I saw that. This H‑E‑B is my go to I'm never disappointed. It can be a little crowded sometimes, but you just have to come at the right times. I usually go around 1 PM to 2 PM. If I could give ZERO stars I would. I used to do business ONLY with this location since its opening but their very poorly run curbside drove me away. I used the curbside location since 2020 and it became apparent after awhile that it wasn't just stock issues effecting my orders. I stayed in this relationship WAY too long, call me a glutton for punishment. I had problems with just about every order for over a year! I switched to another location even though it was farther from home and I haven't looked back! It's been incredible. This HEB is probably one of the best in town. It's clean, stocked, and spacious. Their florist is well stocked and friendlier staff. They have a beautiful bakery and sushi place. They close at 11 pm. read more

This store very well disappoints me ever single time I visit. I get myself upset knowing I shouldn't go there and still go hoping something will change. Today I go to pick up a orange or yellow meat watermelon knowing dang well I won't find it here, guess what I was right! Turn around and walk right out the store. I never find what I'm looking for at this location ever. Living in Killeen my best bet is drive to Cove/Harker location to get what I need, if I can't make it to the city of Cedar park, Roundrock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Austin etc... Don't buy anything from the sushi bar. The head man that works there is REAL RUDE! Every time I ask him for something he says no or makes faces at me. I asked him for another little cup of salad dressing and he said NO REAL UGLY. I told him I'll pay for it it's no big deal. They're real chinchy and greedy. Got funky attitude all the time. I do not reccomend working here, its high school all over again. People love drama and will persecute you if you're just there just to work and leave. Very toxic environment and it seems those that spread drama are tolerated by managers for some odd reason. People have their own cliques like its high school. The bakery has a huge selection of bread, desserts, and there's also a tortilleria. Sushiya, True Texas BBQ, Pharmacy, and the Floral department are all conveniently located by the front entrance. I understand the concerns for COVID. However, I do not understand why I am stopped at the entrance to ensure I have a mask (they are provided if you don't), but the carts are full of garbage/not being wiped down much less sanitized, nor are the self-serve stations being sanitized. Additionally, it is highly irritating when bagging my own groceries in a regular isle while in the isle right next to me is a bagger leaning over the counter scrolling through her photos on her phone as though the store is empty of customers. This is the second visit in a row that a bagger has refused to actually bag groceries while having nothing else to do, seemingly. This is my favorite H‑E‑B, but I have witnessed the standards dropping quickly. I use this location for curbside pickup. Always excellent customer service! My orders are always correct and if something isn't available they always call in order to offer an acceptable solution. The other day an item was missing and one of the associates brought the item to me personally! Will continue to use this service as it's very convenient and worth the $5 charge. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017 - PART 3: 72/100 HEB is the one true chain of grocery stores in Central Texas. (Or at least, from my experience.) This is the closest to Big Bro's home, so yeah, I've frequented this particular one on my many visits. The one thing they're very consistent about is customer service. It doesn't matter who I ask for help - somebody restocking in an aisle, the meat deli, some random worker walking by - they are always ALWAYS happy to help. For example, I was looking for a particular item. In lieu of just telling me where it is, I'd get walked to the actual aisle AND got help locating it. I just thought I'd make them aware that these things do not go unnoticed. Will most likely make another stop on the next visit should the need arise. read more

Please note: This specific review applies solely to the "True Texas BBQ" sold in the H‑E‑B store. My friend and I drove to Killeen specifically to try the "True Texas BBQ" at this H‑E‑B. I have eaten there several times and have always enjoyed it, but my friend has not and was skeptical since we both eat at other BBQ restaurants and love them! We both ordered and shared a 3 meat place for lunch. We ordered "Fatty", "Lean", plus "Chopped & Sauced" Briskets. All of which was Amazingly spectacular despite not being its our Restaurant. H‑E‑B clearly understands what true Texas BBQ is and could easily hold their own in a comparison competition vs other famous local BBQ restaurants. I know re-reading my own review this does seem a bit over the top on a BBQ review, but I assure you this is an authentic review (despite it being a day late to review since we did not visit today). I love H-E-B one time some young men gave my Husband Lunch meat that was not good anymore. Me and my Husband brought it back. This women who worked at the Deli where the nicest women ever. I guess that young men accidentally got the wrong meat who don't supposed to be sold for 19 years we go to the H-E-B all over Killeen and this People who work there, are the best. Went today to walk the store. Friendly staff and everyone is smiling and seems to be having fun.. Seafood Dept it wonderful with a bigger variety of seafood. Meat Dept is always good. Product is wonderful also. But I must say that the already made stuff selection is wonderful.. There are things I can eat. As for the rest of the store.. Not bad selection but some things like vinegar is a little small.. Other than that organized well and I might be back. read more

Editing this review: never has ready to eat meals like pasta salad. They sell out so quickly it's hard to get them even in store. It wasn't like that at our old HEB so it's frustrating. I'm online doing my curbside order and now when I type in stuff like sliced cheese you have to scroll or it'll autocomplete to the first item on their dropdown menu which in this case is deli sliced cheese. It's done that for enough items that I'm getting frustrated. I kept scrolling and couldn't find plain old Kraft sliced cheese so please fix that. I know what I typed in, that what I want. Also when I logged on, it's maybe been a month or two since we used this but my order history is gone. So there went that shortcut. Bagged cereal. No idea how to find it, 'bag cereal' brings 176 results of boxed granola bars. This is getting ridiculous. I'll have to wait until I can look at the name of the cereal and hope to find it that way. The overall feel of this is just that they don't encourage using it. They sure haven't made it user friendly. I'm gonna look into ordering off amazon. ------ Ok so getting curbside figured out. Did my biggest order today, only abt $70 but included ready to go dinner. First, I love this option. We've used it several times so far but just small stuff to test it out, see how it works, get used to it. I do wish it was a little easier to use. I've had my cart emptied when the page refreshed on its own and it can be tricky finding stuff, I love their Greek salads but have to remember the keywords to actually find it. Second, when I reserve a time slot I'm not sure it's actually giving me 30 minutes to shop. I have my list ready so all I have to do is put stuff in my cart but I've gotten the msg that I lost my time slot a few times now. I'll have to check the time next time, seems like it's fcfs but I could be wrong. And it can take time when you type in sugar packets and oatmeal shows up in your results. Or when I'm trying to find their Greek salad and have to look a few dif places. Third, I finally relied on it for dinner same night and got burned. I know they run out of their ready-to-eat stuff but they're gonna need to figure out how to have it available for curbside shoppers when it's later in the day. I'd gotten chicken dinners and they were out. I mean who wants to do all that when you're picking up after work? Even if it's random like toilet paper, you don't want to be told sorry we don't have that afterall. And we've had to do this before. So my husband left abt 45 minutes ago to pick our groceries up. It should have been pull up, pick up and come home. Also he overheard someone else saying they didn't get everything they'd ordered so clearly they're not double-checking. Still worth it though. Let's just plz keep it that way! Anyway besides a dislike for HEB's running out the competition I love this option. Going to try delivery next (update: fuk that. Horrible customer service on the bakery department. Made me wait for 45 for cookies that were never made. Always a good place to shop. Need to keep up on some products that they seem to run out of. Grapenut flakes and the H‑E‑B brand of their small (mini) bean dip. Guess they aren't making it anymore or it's just available at certain times of the year. I like those because they are just my size. Like I literally come back just for the bbq. It's next to the new starbucks which is also a plus. Went to HEB for groceries for dinner and one of the items on the list was avocados, asked an associate if all of the avocados in one bin were a certain price due to half being one size and half being another. He said yes and showed me all the way at the other end of the isle were the "large avocados" so I went ahead and got the ones I needed for dinner. Upon checkout the cashier asked me what size and I said small, she mentioned they were ringing up as the largest ones but even added there was no way because they were super small and then called over a manager to correct it. The manager came over with attitude and said they were definitely large ones, even the cashier added that they were really small and she had never seen the large ones that small, the manager then added that I probably mixed them up in the same bag. I told her to go look at the small avocado bin because a good majority of them were that size and she said "no need, ring them up as large" then walked away so I had the cashier just take them all off. I have never experienced a rude employee at HEB but this manager was definitely rude, and the fact she wouldn't even go look at the bins tells me this issue will probably be happening a lot today. Steer clear of this HEB, it was my first and last time shopping at this location. read more

had 1 of the worst experiences today at heb customerservice. I was released from the hospital the previous night and my daughter came down for 1 day from austin, about 1 hour and a half away. I was told to take my blood pressure 3 times a day. my daughter bought me a blood pressure machine but she did not know I already had one. she went back to austin this morning and did not leave the receipt and paid for it with her credit card. I went to return it and get a store credit I was told by a cashier that I had to have the receipt and the credit card that it was bought with. I said what if she paid with cash am I just SOL? she said yes, I said I want to see the return policy and she pointed to it behind me. I read where it says returns without a receipt will be issued a giftcard, I pointed that out to the cashier and she said we are allowed to refuse a return for any reason. I said can you just look in the system and see that it was purchased last night between 11pm-1am. she said that is not at all possible to pull that up so I asked for the manager. the manager came over and was just as ridiculous as the cashier. I pointed out the return policy for no receipt and she says restrictions may apply. if restrictions apply then it should list the restrictions. I said so what's the reason for refusing the return she said it was because it cost 50.00, I said can you just look in the system that shows it was purchased the night before, which the cashier said it was not possible at all. so she looked in the system and said it was not purchased there and the last 1 that was purchased was a while back, and she said it with such a smug smirk, as it turned out my daughter bought it at the other one down the street. but even before that the cashier and manager were completely full of BS. so I left and called the other heb. I asked about their return policy without a receipt and she said they could look it up with the credit card used I said it was my daughter's credit card and she was now out of town and I asked if I could get a store credit she looked in the system and verified a BP machine was purchased the night before in the 2hr window and said yes I just needed my driver's license. I went in and used the whole store credit on groceries. so it seems that the first heb just makes up rules to fit the way they view a customer or just if they feel like being jerks that day, and the other heb actually goes by what the policy says. restrictions should be known in writing so a half wit manager cannot make her own rules. and I was made to feel like they were accusing me of stealing the BP machine. the horrible heb, that I frequent at least 3 times a week could of called the heb on trimmier to verify there was a BP machine that cost 50.00 was purchased between a 2 hr window the previous night and processed my return that was not used or opened but no she wanted to throw customer service out the window. the other heb verified their was a BP machine purchased the previous night between those hrs and was very helpful and courteous processing my return. I was in the horrible heb at customer service between 1:20-1:45 speaking to those 2 idiots so i would appreciate if someone would teach them how to process returns without a receipt read more

It's a smaller HEB than the one on Trimmier so the aisles are ALOT narrower that's the only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars.
