    German IPA
    Doug D.

For the country that taught me everything about beer, I could not believe that I stumbled upon a American-style craft brew pub right near my friend's apartment in Berlin! It really is American-style, and it succeeds. The chalkboard is the biggest dead-ringer. I can understand why they would want to try the model out in Germany; they like beer in Germany, so why not. The beers I tasted were all excellent. The German IPA was definitely the tastiest one. The service was good, too.

Great stop if you are missing American style craft beer bars. In Berlin, most bars only have one beer on draft and the rest bottled. This gem has twenty beers on tap from all over the world including the US! The English speaking bartender was very nice and helpful! Large place that seems good for groups.

Took a large group here, and was impressed with both food and service. We were served a set menu of perfectly baked chicken and very flavorful couscous. Our starter was a cold tomato and mozzarella soup, and I had never had anything like it, but found it light and refreshing. Finished with a fluffy key lime mousse with pineapple and red currants on top. Overall, a pleasant experience, and would go back to sit in the biergarten to sample the many varieties of beer!

Awesome goulash, solid beer, friendly but non-intrusive service. 4.5 stars

Fantastic experience. Traveling around and found this gem for lunch on a Wednesday. Had the beer tasting - €6.90 for 5 pours! The hamburger was delicious and "chips" or French fries were crispy and perfect served with a citrus dip.

Good craft beer center in Berlin. Great outdoor and indoor seating areas. Good bottle selection as well. They take credit cards.

We came here after having been turned away by an Indonesian restaurant that was "full for the night". We are so glad that fate brought us here instead of that Indonesian restaurant!! What were we even thinking anyway --forget the Indonesian food, get the local specialities!! Ordered the schnitzel as well as the meatballs and both were executed perfectly. Schnitzel was hot and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside -- not overly salty either. Meatballs were juicy and packed with flavor from the minced onions that they had mixed in. The beer (we ordered a Pilsner) was the best that we had tried in all of the Berlin and Dresden restaurants that we visited. I believe it is from some small private brewery affiliated with the restaurant somehow. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right, so definitely order the house beer. Super cozy seating (you'll probably be sharing a table with other guests) and packed all night long but amazing vibes and casual comfort food. Would come back if I ever visit Berlin again!

I came to Berlin on a cruise tour, and our guide gave us three hours to explore Berlin on our own…read more I was really hungry, so I stopped by here to grab something to eat and to hopefully experience real, authentic German cuisine. The first thing I wanted to ensure was that this restaurant accepted Apple Pay. I asked one of the waiters inside if they took Apple Pay, and he looked annoyed. When it was confirmed they took Apple Pay, I said, "Okay, I'd like to dine here then." I was a solo diner, and he said, "Okay, well, sit wherever you want." Once I sat down, I began to peruse the menu. Another waiter came over to take my order and began speaking German to me. I told him that I unfortunately don't speak German, and he got annoyed and kept speaking German. I ended up pointing to the items I wanted to order, but already wasn't feeling great about my experience. I ordered the Pork Vienna Schnitzel, and it was the most disappointing meal I have ever had. To be frank, I've had better Vienna Schnitzel in the United States at German-themed restaurants. The breading on the Vienna schnitzel was very puffy and fell off. There was no flavor to the food at all, and it was very bland. I simply ate the food out of sheer hunger, since I hadn't eaten since 7 AM that morning, and it was almost 2 PM by then. I finally paid and left, but I did not feel welcomed in the facility, and the food was a bust. Hopefully, other American tourists have better experiences here than I did.
