This German restaurant and beer hall is located in the Sony Center and we had our run club celebration dinner here after running the Berlin Marathon. Had a great time, service was good, the food was tasty, and of course the German brews were delicious. I don't recall a lot about this night after many steins of beer but we had fun! Prost! Nice place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The food was decent but kind of undistinguished - I got the roast pork (schweinebraten) and the sauerkraut and potato dumpling it came with were hotter than the pork itself, which was kind of room temperature. Location, location, location! This is by our hotel and many other hotels in the Potsdamer Platz mall area. I'm assuming because of this, it was recommended to get a reservation. We did not have a reservation and were seated in the final table available at the time (party of 3). There are three floors and large outdoor dining patio and all three floors were full AND some of patio despite the early spring being very chilly at dinner time. More German food! We're in Berlin for only 6 days and we wanted German food. Berlin is a huge melting pot of different restaurants so if you're sick of German food choose somewhere else, but we're loving it! I would say of the places we've been this does seem like the "Applebee's" of German food, but according to my internet search it isn't a chain. Also the best deal seems to the small sampler plate my son ordered. Depending on your hunger level, this is a huge shareable meal and has "German food" written all over it - meat, potatoes, cabbage. I had the honor to travel to Berlin for work. This is the first restaurant I had when I arrived. A group of us sat on the top patio area which had a gorgeous view as shown in my photo. If you take anything from this review, it should be to try all the beers here! I sampled three and all of them were delicious. The charcuterie board was huge and full of yummy choices. All of the dinner options I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. The menu had a variety of authentic German dishes, aimed to please anyone. I opted for the cheese spaetzel. This is the first restaurant, in Europe or elsewhere where I've been served a heat lamp plate of food and a beer in a dishwasher hot glass within 4 minutes of sitting down. Also they just sort of threw down and angrily slid the food - I didn't do anything just politely ordered the main dish. They don't want to serve you, and for good reason because it's all bad. Last time I was introduced beer Radler when I was near Frankfurt. Beer mixed with some sort of sweet soda. I liked those. Very happy to see the option with mixed beer with apple juice, banana Neckar, and ginger taste. I got one with banana Neckar, my friend got the ginger one. Both of us loved those. Meals were served with huge portion. Eisbein was very tender and tasted great with pickled cabbage. Had the desire to ask some chili sauce for this. Currywurst was an interesting taste for me. As sausage is not on the top of my favorite food list, don't take my words on this. Try for yourself. Price were reasonable. Services were decent. Great German pub! Visited Berlin for a few days earlier this week for business, my colleagues took me here to experience some really good German pub food. Flammkuchen (German pizza) was my favourite. I'm not a huge fan of pizza but I'm definitely a fan of German pizza - this one had sour cream, arugula and prosciutto...so yummy! We also got a goulash dish and schnitzel . Both were nicely done and I was surprised with the generous portions. This is a very unusual place. It shows up under the rating of 'dive bars', but that is totally incorrect. The main reason to come here is to sit on the rooftop deck and enjoy the surrealistic view of the insides of the Sony Center. Neither my son or I enjoyed our meals. I had some type of beef stew, and he had some pork dish. Sadly we did not write down the names of the dishes. Nevertheless, if you can get a seat up on the rooftop of this restaurant, it's really fascinating and you probably won't forget it. read more

Christmas dinner at Oma's is always Bavarian. We ordered spaetzel, brewhaus collection and Munich white sausages. All were very good. The siemekniddle was the only thing we felt could us improvement but it was still good. We are used to a lighter bread kniddle. Sauce was excellent. Very happy. This is Berlin - you must ask your server for service. This is how things are. This is not USA When you ask - you are quickly accommodated. Definitely not a welcoming experience! Starting with stern Frau Richter at the entry who didn't "find our reservation" & failed to utter a "Sorry" when shown the verified reservation confirmation. She marched up 3 flights of stairs with 3 older customers without offering to unlock the elevator. The server: loud, aggressive, mocking attitude who served the food then promptly disappeared when we asked for our bill. After chasing him down, paying & requesting access to the elevator, he promptly disappeared again. The food: blech. Heavy breading just fell limply off from the schnitzel meat. Best meal our entire time (5 days total) in Germany. We arrived to our hotel late on the 23rd of December. Germans celebrate Christmas on the 24th, so there wasn't much available when we went looking for dinner. Lindenbräu was a true blessing. First of all, it's a brewery, so we were able to get our German beer adventures started. Secondly, the food was amazing. I ordered a plate with several sausage varieties and sauerkraut. I probably could have eaten a giant bowl of sauerkraut and been pleased, it was by far the best we had in Germany. The sausages did not let me down either. I was already hungry, and this was the absolute best first dinner on our trip. The area was decorated for Christmas and was absolutely beautiful to experience. We never made it back to this area while it was open, but I can imagine that Lindenbräu stays packed when the mall is open. Please be sure to try this place out! read more

Food was average. Service is below average in my opinion. Our waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there. Kind of killed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant was in a super touristy area. I got the pork knuckle. It's massive. The meat was tender and tasty. But the crispy skin on the outside was not edible. It was like super tough leather. The sausage medley was good but not certain how truly German they were as they sort of lacked flavor and texture. The potatoes were pretty good though. Yum-aaazing! I ordered the wurstparade with sauerkraut and substituted the boiled potatoes for fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were so good and crispy! I ordered the pretzel as an appetizer. I didn't remember that there was mustard on the table until I was half way done eating it, so don't forget there's mustard on the table. I also ordered a beer with passionfruit flavoring. during a berlin city tour...this place was recommended by the tour guide for authentic german food and beer! and let you...i left very happy and impressed! we ordered the german sausage platter ..which came with 3 types of sausages, german pizza with bacon...and german pork steak with some kind of sauce...and complemented by fried potato and bread dumpling...and of course german lager!!! german sausage platter was great. had 6pcs..2 of each kind, with sauerkraut....nicely grilled with good table mustard provided. pork steaks were cooked perfectly and the sauce complemented it really well. the fried potato ball had a very unique texture... it was a cross between a dumpling and mashed potato. lol. chewy and soft to taste...good but not my cup of team. the pizza was the best one...nice very thin and flaky crust...good white sauce base and topped with real back bacon bits...outstanding! have not had pizza with crust this thin...it was truly one of a kind... the beer was outstanding too. excellent lager...stronger than a corona but smooth and refreshing! location was awesome too. located in sony plaza...open concept with arts exhibits around and various events going on. plus you get to see the tent that sony made that resembles mount fuji! its a sight to behold and a tourist attraction as well. bonus: near by, there is a gelato cart selling creamy out of this world gelato for only $1.5 euro a scoop. when in berlin...this place is worth a visit! happy eating! read more

Microbrewery, beer hall and bistro in the Potsdamerplatz Sony Center of Berlin. Try the 'Schmankerlplatte' a platter of schweinhoxe, leberkasse, sausages and fixins' that serves 4. I've had it a number of times when there with business associates. We call it 'death by meat'. There is sooo much! Good food, good times. Sit way upstairs on the outer balcony. Great brewery atmosphere, nice location, traditional German cuisine, great beer selection and very quick and good service

We stopped in here for a late lunch. It was a beautiful 65 degree day so we sat on the upper level balcony. The location is great - it's really cool inside the Sony Center, especially on a nice day with a lot of people around, and you have a nice view of it from the balcony. The food and beer here are amazing. I got the Brauhauspfanne, which was basically a sampling of every type of typical German pig-based meat you can think of, and they were all great. I'm not much of a sauerkraut fan but even that, on the bottom marinating in the juices, was good. My wife got the potato soul (Kartoffelsuppe) which was also good. On to the beer - on a whim, my American, imperial-unit-minded self saw the "1 meter bier" sampler, with 0,2 L pours, and thought "Yea! That's not too much, I should totally go with that!" Trust me.- it's more than it sounds. As it turns out, that's over 6 ounces in each sampling, which makes it over four beers in all. But - hey - they were good at least! My favorite was the Dunkel, so much that after getting through all eight samples I ordered another one. It might be one of the best beers I've ever had, and I've lived in the Northeast and Northwest US, so I've had my share of good beer. It's that good, and if you like dark beers, you need to try it. Service was quick and efficient, we didn't see our waiter all that often but it seemed that whenever we needed him, he'd pop up. The default menu is only in German, but if you ask, they do have an English version inside. If you're in Berlin, definitely head to Linderbrau - and try the dunked beer. Just make sure you have a partner for the meter beer. read more

Hard to get seats here. Three floors of total busy-ness + you have to find and then seat yourself may make your life very miserable if you are starving and it's pouring outside. But was it worth it? I think so! Love the way the restaurant looks and the whole feel of it. Also love that you can get a yard of different beer to sample. Also love that their meat platter for four not only comes with enough pork to feed 8 people, but it also comes with 4 shots of schnapps (that smell like vodka). Their schnitzel is good too. We really enjoyed it. This was our first visit to Berlin and to Lindenbräu. This place is very modern and in the heart of Sony Center in the heart of Potsdamer-Platz. I had the "Special Brewery Pan" with loaf, Leberkäse", sausages, "Sauerkraut", market vegetables and Dumpling. Didn't care for the dumpling but the meat and veggies were great. I also started with the Goulash Soup. Don't miss that! I'd say it was the highlight of my meal. Nancy had the Veal Schnitzel. Also very good. Of course, we both enjoyed some Bier! Located in the Sony building just a 10 minute walk away from the Berlin Marriott Hotel, Lindenbrau is a "beer garden." The wife and I aren't big on beer (shocking, I know!), but opted to have dinner here to sample some German fare. Reviews about the placed were mixed, so we hoped for the best! Like most of Berlin, English isn't an issue here. In fact, there's English menus readily available. Service, however, is a bit different. We had to ask to be seated and had to ask for our check. We were largely ignored here, which was in sharp contrast to other places we visited while in Berlin. So what was supposed to be a quick dinner ended up being quite a long one. But how was the food? It was ok. My wife ordered the wienerschnitzel with parsley potatoes, cranberries and lemon (19.50Euro). For my meal, I ordered the roasted pork knuckle with sauerkraut and some bread cheese thing (15.00Euro). My wife thought her wienerschnitzel was unremarkable, but was in love with the amazing buttery parsley potatoes. My dish, on the other hand, was amazing! The pork was crunchy on the outside, but tender and juicy on the inside. The sauerkraut was really good too, but the bread was super heavy. My only wish was that the knuckle could have been seasoned before being roasted. A slightly salty crust would have made it all the better! Would I go back? Of course. The food is good, though the service isn't that great. It's a good moderately priced option within easy walking distance of many of the sights in Berlin. read more

My wife and I made Lindenbrau part of our evening when we attended the Berlin Philharmonic in May. We were not disappointed with the beer, the service, or the food. Guests are free to sit anywhere we choose so we selected a window seat on the 2nd level overlooking Sony Centre. We tried three or four different beers - all of which were nothing short of amazing. Our meals were equally tasty. My plate consisted of a meat combo of pork, schnitzel, & sausage surrounding a potato gratin. Its not exactly gourmet dining but taste was outstanding for what it is. Great place in the Sony center at Potsdammer Platz. It is a place to stop for a beer, or to add on with a german snitzel. I think the place is very charmful and has a good kitchen. At some occation it host large group, but normally you may enjoy your meal quietly. If you prefer the german "beerstube" feeling, you should take place at the first floor. I try not to get sucked in to eating at tourist centres. But when it's below zero and snowing, what better way to warm up than with a schweinshaxen (pork knuckle) and a huge beer!? This place does great German comfort food and really great beer. It's a microbrewery and has a great drinks list. The atmosphere is buzzing and the staff are great. For the poor tourists there is a multi-lingual menu complete with dodgy photos of each menu item.
