Delicious coffee and churros! The barista makes some lovely latte art, as well. Get your churros filled with dulce de leche for an extra dose of sweet. But be warned: the dulce de leche sauce becomes a projectile weapon once you bite into it, so you better lay down some napkins before you indulge. read more

Yummy gelato ... my friend took me here . Yummy ice cream I got a large yes I know my fat self even though the ice cream will melt quicker . I've got the raspberry and bananas flavor half and half the berries are so good . read more

Long story short, if you want a good cup of cappuccino, buy 3 cappuccinos here!! Cappuccino is flavorful but they only fill up your cup 1/3 of the way (not even exaggerating). Not sure why serving size is an issue here, DC locations serve normally. Will post pics next time.. read more

One of my favorite places for coffee and gelato. This location is a bit smaller than the locations in Dupont and CityCenter, but the quality and ambiance are identical. We came here for late night dessert and got the Mascarpone & Berries gelato and the Tiramisu. Both were delicious! I've also been on a decaf craze recently, and decided to get the decaf version of the Gibraltar. It was a perfect combination with the gelato (and let me sleep at night too). The one drawback is that there are probably only a total of 15 chairs in the whole place. This location is vary narrow and long, so there is relatively limited standing room. The good news is that there's plenty of space outside to sit in Bethesda and you can also just walk around and enjoy the area where it's located! read more

Does this place have a fair amount of hype around it? Yes. But it rises to meet the challenge quite well. There is a wide variety of flavors, and the flavors are very rich and deep. The serving sizes are pretty generous, and they're very nice about giving sample tastes before you buy something. Personally, I love their chocolate, but there's fun flavors that I toy with from time to time, too. read more

Very good upscale Gelato joint in Bethesda Lane near Redwood and Million dollar apartments. Very unique flavors including clementine, avocado orange, and others. I played it safe with a small Tahitian vanilla bean, and cinnamon. Definitely go out and be bold with your selections. If you are going to shell out $5 for a little gelato, make it memorable read more

OUTSTANDING!!!!! I absolutely love this freshness of their flavors and the fact that they only use LOCAL Farmers for their produce and products. I would like to also mention that they have two locations... the other in in Georgetown (this was the FIRST) Rob and Violetta have worked wonders I love the old ice cream store feel to the Bethesda Location and the clean cut look of the Georgetown Location. A+ guys!!!!! I wish you all the best in your future endeavors! read more

I love gelato so when I found out about Dolcezza, I had to try it! The flavors seem to change seasonally, depending on what they have. I remember going in the winter and they only had 10 flavors which weren't that appealing to be honest. I came back again his past weekend and they had close to 20 flavors! I loved the PISTACHIO and mascarpone and berries! It's definitely worth the try if you're in the area! It is a little pricey and the gelato does melt pretty quickly but it's super refereeing in the summer and the area in Bethesda Row is really nice to walk around at night with the lights on! read more

valhrona chocolage, thai coconut milk, ginger cardamom pistachio, sea salt were all amazing. A tad bit pricey but they have really interesting flavors, and with pitango so far away, this will be my go-to gelato spot this summer. read more

I had the peanut butter and milk chocolate gelato. I was craving it on this hot day! The pb gelato was good, but the chocolate gelato was way too rich for me, I couldn't finish it. The service was kind, but average. The prices are high... 5.50 plus tax for a small cup. Just btw the ac is broken at this location, good thing the gelato freezer is still working! read more

Great Iced Soy Chai Latte!

refreshing & unusual sorbet flavors. i tried: lime cilantro lemon opal basil the courtyard in great for lounging/talking while having your dessert read more

possibly the best gelato i've ever had and not to sound like a pretentious schmuck, but i've had it all over. valhrona chocolate and cinnamon? OMG. Lots of more unique flavors but it's hard to stray. so good! read more

This is how gelato should be. I had the vanilla bean and strawberries and cream and it was awesome. I didn't think it was particularly expensive. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely be back. read more

Excellent flavors! We sampled several. My favorite was the Thai coconut milk, my husband liked the salted caramel, and my son liked the apple. One star off because it's expensive. We got two smalls and paid about $10. read more

I picked a horrible place for dinner, but at least I brought the family here for gelato after. It is expensive, but soooo yummy. We have a dairy allergy in the fam and they have sorbetto that is way better that I've had anyplace else. read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. After recent trip to Italy we were hoping to find the same great gelato we enjoyed in Italy. This place doesn't even come close and it is incredibly overpriced. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This place has the best gelato in town! I travel to Bologna, Italy quite often and have developed a taste for good gelato. I used to complain that there's no place in the DC area that offers anything comparable to that I can buy in Italy. That was until I tried Dolcezza! They use the freshest in-season ingredients sourced from local farmers and make their gelato every morning from scratch. The gelato is smooth and full of flavor. The dark chocolate is unbelievably rich. They also have good coffee, tea, and pastries. Their churros are a must! The people behind the counter are patient (it may take a while to decide what flavor to get) and very friendly. We will keep coming! read more

Didn't like the taste, especially the fruit ones. They were out of many flavors and staff seemed uninterested in helping us choose flavors. What we did get ended up being bland and melted fast. All this for the ridiculous price of $5.25 per scoop! read more

I always go to Dolcezza for their coffee. They have the best coffee drinks in the DMV! The cappuccino is very smooth: great balance between the espresso and perfectly frothed milk. Love the mocha as well, with just 2 pumps of mocha (instead of the regular 4). read more

For a coffee snob like me, the hand-brewed coffee earns this place 5-stars.

The low rating is not for the coffee, which I thought was very good and well presented. The low rating is for the obnoxious staff. I went to the Dolcezza in Bethesda for the first time on a Saturday, and was thoroughly unimpressed by their unprofessional staff. The staff were yelling across the store, laughing loudly, and complaining about their work schedules. The customers could hear every word of their conversation and the staff seemed entirely unconcerned about it even when several customers were working. Extremely unprofessional for a coffee shop setting. It seemed like I was in a high school cafeteria not a high end coffee shop. read more

Gelato is super smooth and too good! We always get gelato after we have dinner, even after eating a very full meal. My husband and I always get dulce de leche with thai coconut milk, or...our new favorite...butter pecan. Tiramisu flavor is also yummy. We have yet to try the other flavors and always stick to the same ones because we love them too much. read more

Good gelato full of flavor. Highly suggest pistachio and Vietnamese cinnamon. You really only need a small scoop because it is so sweet. Very good for a warm afternoon in Bethesda. read more

I came here after brunch at Redwood and made sure to save room for the pistacchio di bronte flavored gelato. So scrumptious! The atmosphere here is nice too! read more

A pretty fancy little gelato shop that sells not only gelato but coffee and drinks. I didn't get a chance to try their coffee, but they brew Stumptown for their cold brew! I tried their gelato and I think in comparison to other gelato places, it was okay..They do offer unique and interesting flavors, but the gelato was lighter, softer and more airy, rather than being dense and creamy, which is what I prefer for my gelato. read more

I always get the push pops here. Perfect size to feed that craving but not to much that it makes you feel guilty. I got thai coconut milk which is my favorite. Yummy. read more

One of the best ice cream places around Bethesda area. Even though their portions are small you get the best flavors. I haven't tried their drinks yet but I will definitely be coming back for their gelato. read more

Great Gelato venue! Im glad I stumbled on in here for a perfect ending after a spicy lunch. They had Pear flavoured Gelato which is hard to find and was pretty darn good! Will surely come back for more... read more

Delicious gelato and great service!!! Would recommend a fruity flavor and the vanilla bean together if you're looking for an interesting combination! read more

Great coffee. Started going here when I moved to D.C. and keep going back. The lattes are especially good.

I asked for dairy free options given my sons allergies at which point they offered the first row behind the glass. My son ate less than half before we headed to the ER as his allergies kicked in quickly. read more

Stood in line for 15 mins , I was invisible because other white folks came after me got served, they servers ,they stare me in the face ask the white folks if they needed help, a young white man gave me is order he felt so bad because I was in line before him. This place is terrible. read more

For over $5 for a small cup of gelato--I mixed two flavors--sesame & thai coconut milk, a perfect combination. Store is pretty cramped, layout is odd, and barely enough space for a line unless you are out the door. However, there is outdoor seating in the promenade outside the store. Quick fix for your gelato cravings. read more

Looking for a little something sweet after an excellent dinner led us in here! Cute place, awesome selection of flavors and friendly staff. The gal at the counter kept offering to give us samples, which everyone appreciates, and we settled on some half scoops of pecan, berries and chocolate because ALL THE FLAVORS, they want to be together! Not too crowded late at night but I'd be surprised if there wasn't hordes of people during the day trying to get dey hands on these creamy delights. read more

Located in the new Bethesda Lane development, this place is awesome. It's open late, and during the summer, the line easily spills out the door. It's delicious, and creamy, and good, and, like everything else in Bethesda, it's overpriced, which is why it doesn't get 5 stars. read more

Mojito & Black Cat Espresso Gelato. Fabulous! If I lived here, this would definitely be a favorite spot.

The prices are a little high (about $5 for a small), but this gelato is divine. They make everything fresh each morning - fresh cream, fresh herbs, you name it. But the best part are the incredible flavors. I ordered marscapone with raspberries, but I liked what my husband got so much - lemon ricotta with cardamom - I actually went back for a second round. This place has some small dine-in tables that seat no more than two, but there's some really nice outside seating, too. Perfect place to stop in for a date night treat. read more

There was a bit of a line on a Saturday night but I assume that was because the gelato is so good! They only let you have two samples per person so I tried the peanut butter and the roasted strawberry jam. If you get a small it includes two flavors so I got those two since it seemed like a good combo together (maybe a little PB&J?). It was delicious! I really enjoyed this gelato place and can't wait to go back and try other flavors! read more

Went on a Friday night and only about half of total flavor options were actually available... was disappointed because I love so many of their unique flavors but there was only 5-6 to choose from on this particular evening. Other than that the store is bright, clean, and reasonably priced for gourmet gelato. read more
