Clean, simple, reasonable price. Lisa is cool. Not much sales talk but get things done. My two cockers feel fine to be there that's what I also like a lot. I used to take them to those fancy groomers....they were doing great sales talk but every-time when I bring my dog back, he felt itchy and he hated to go there. I'm glad with Lisa's work. read more

I had tried numerous places and thankfully I have found Lisa. She knows exactly what you want and always remember what style you like or you don't like. read more

Amazing dog grooming spot in Pasadena! Lisa is wonderful and our 2 dogs absolutely love her. We have a Siberian husky & a pit lab mix that love their "spa days" with Lisa at dogs best friend grooming. So glad we have a local trustworthy spot for our dogs to go to. Highly recommend!!! read more

More like dogs worst enemy! The owner cut my dogs paw then tried to tell me that it was there before. If it was I would have obviously noticed it as well as if it was bleeding. Picked her up and there was dried blood. Then she lied about it. I will never come here again! read more

Dog's Best Friend - Pet Groomers Near Me - Pasadena, California

I brought my poor neglected dog here for some much needed grooming. I was late for my appointment and she was totally nice about it. A little funny sarcasm never hurt anyone. I was also late picking up my dog. I am sure she wanted to kill me but she was totally nice about the whole thing. She went above and beyond for my all white long haired Husky. My dog had a full summer coat to shed. She showed us a whole trashcan of just my dogs hair. I didn't even recognize my dog after getting her back because she looked so damn good. She was silky smooth and soft and her hair was whitened back to its original glow. I see some bad reviews here, and I have to understand that people make mistakes sometimes. But this is a lady who runs this place by herself and actually enjoys her walk. I saw a few dogs in here and they looked great and their owners were surprised. I'm sure this lady works her butt off for customer satisfaction, and she is getting mine today. To make a nice long story short, I came here on short notice, late and with a dog in pretty poor condition. it was embarrassing to let my dog get this way. Dog's Best Friend took care of me for $90 dollars which was an amazing price because I'm sure any groomer would have charged me double. read more

I'm on my third pair of dogs who see Lisa for grooming and pampering. All have been rescues, who had been through one form or trauma or another. Well Lisa knows dogs, and takes care to ensure they get the treatment they need, I've never had a bad experience in almost 20 years at her Pampered Pet Parlor. read more

Dog's Best Friend - Showing off Lisa's grooming at the Grand Canyone - Pet Groomers Near Me - Pasadena, California

Lisa is great! We've been going for years. Reasonably priced. Make sure to call in the morning to make sure she still has space. Dogs come out clean with nails cut and butts squeezed. read more

The first couple times going to this groomer it was ok. Our bud would always come back clean and with a nice haircut. The second to last time we brought our dog, he developed an ear infection which our vet said can be caused from water getting in his ear. And the last time we brought him we decided to give this place another chance. Our dog got home he seemed ok until we started playing catch with him and all of a sudden his paw started bleeding. Had to clean the carpet from the blood marks. He also was vomiting all day. Will no longer be going to this groomer. read more

I was very disapointed with my experience here. I usually go to dog wash america in sierra madre, and decided to try dogs best friend because i was closer to where i moved. I took my 2 english bulldogs (one is still small and is a puppy), and it cost 90 $!!!!!! At dog wash america, i can get both washed for $50 or less. Not only did it cost 90, but they left still wet, one was still dirt when i pet him, they both had filthy ears, and their nails were not clipped. I was also called twice and told that i needed to come immediately to get them because the people working there wanted to go home, even though i had told them that i couldnt come back until 430 and they said that was fine. And then, once i left my previous engagement to get there early, there were still other dogs there waiting to go home!!!! So, $90 cost, still dirty and wet dogs, dirty ears, no nails clipped, and rude people. Not going back. read more

I brought my fox terrier in whose fur had grown out for the winter and she had a lot of matting. I was actually embarrassed and was expecting a lecture. Lisa was pretty kind to me under the circumstances, for which I was grateful. I kind of hoped that she wouldn't shave the dog, although I know most places wouldn't take the time to work through the mats. I asked her to do what she thought was best. And this amazing woman worked all that matting out and produced the absolute best cut my dog has ever had. And her price was extremely reasonable for all that hard work! I will go there every 4 to 6 weeks from now on. read more

I've been taking my little guy Harry here consistently for 2 years. He is a senior dog at 11.5 years old and needs TLC with his arthritis. Lisa is kind and gentle to his needs. I like that it is more of a dog boutique and she is the only one grooming him. At Petco or other larger companies it's rare you ever get the same groomer. If Lisa says he will be ready at a certain time he ALWAYS is and looks great! Highly recommended taking any furball you love to "A dogs best friend!" read more

Have been coming here for years. Lisa the owner is great, knows her customers and gets to know your dog. Her staff is concerned with your pet which is nice to see. Small business so she knows her regulars. She's flexible. Like that the dog is crated and like that it if you drop off early you can pick up around 1 or so dog isn't there ALL day like some places. Cut can vary depending on type of dog. But for wash and trim...she's reasonable price wise and you know people who care are handling our dog. She does close early so when she says pick up, she means it. read more

We've tried out numerous groomers over the years but really lucked out when we found Dog's Best Friend. Lisa, the owner has been grooming our dogs for over a decade. She does a great job and is wonderfully caring. We don't hesitate entrusting their grooming (all 5) to her. She always goes the extra mile and her prices are very reasonable. read more

Dog's Best Friend - 2 of the current 5 pack, Beau and Bella after grooming. - Pet Groomers Near Me - Pasadena, California

This is my first time going to this groomer. Their store is rather small, but gets the job done. Once you step in, you are immediately in the grooming room with a wall lined with dog cages. The washing area is most likely in the back somewhere. The owner (Lisa, I think) is very friendly and smiled. I've been to 'Bathe R Doggie' and didn't like the fact that they didn't even look me in the eye or greeted me when I brought my dog in. Lisa didn't seem rushed at all and gladly answered any questions we had. She told us that it would take 2.5 hours to get him groomed as she works on a first come-first serve basis. When we showed up to pick up Monster, he was clean as a rabbit! She said that he was extremely easy to groom and friendly. The grooming cost us $35 for a 50lb english bulldog. It includes the bath, cleaning of the ears, toenails and anal glands expressing. Not a bad deal! read more

We have been taking our two Yorkies to Dog's Best Friend for almost 10 years now. Over the years we've tried other places, and all came up short. Lisa (owner) is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and really cares about the comfort and well being of your pets. This place is not cheap, $48 for full groom, but worth every penny and the peace of mind that your dogs are being cared for properly. Take it from a loyal, satisfied customer, give this place a shot, you will not be disappointed! read more

My dog Ed has curly thick hair that can be a nightmare to style. But the owner/groomer, Lisa, gets the job done and then some. Lisa is an expert dog stylist, and she gives Ed a handsome makeover every time. Ed can be timid and gets intimidated by strange surroundings and other dogs barking loudly. Lisa is sensitive to Ed's feelings, as she is also caring and gentle. Ed gets a hug from Lisa, as he is carried gently into his kennel where he will wait for his turn. Knowing that my boy Ed is in good hands gives me peace of mind. I am a fan! read more

I have been searching for a new groomer in Pasadena and have tried several. This was my first visit to this dog groomer and I was very pleased and happy with the experience. The price was a bit on the lower end for what Pasadena groomers charge for a Shih Tzu. I have paid a little less outside of Pasadena but I didn't want to keep having to drive 20 minutes to save $10. The place is small and simple but in a good location with parking. Lisa is a very good groomer. I was pleased with the cut she gave my dog without having to ask for any adjustments. He was ready at the time she said and my dog did not look stressed by the experience. I have received many compliments by how well my dog looks and every one agrees this is the best groom my dog has received in a long time. I will definitely continue to bring my dog here. I do suggest dropping your dog off early, she opens at 7am. I will do that next time so my pup doesn't have a long wait in the kennel. But overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend her! read more

Lisa at Dog's Best Friend runs a great little shop. My dog always looks handsome upon pick up, she always has him ready on time. Not a fancy space, but what's important is that my dog is beautifully groomed. Highly recommend read more

Long over due.Lisa has been grooming our doggy Yuki for over a year.We first went after Petsmart cut his paw and he would not let anyone near his paw after that. The first time Lisa said he was hard to groom but she said don't worry about it bring him back and ever since we are always happy with her work and Yuki looks cute every time.We just got back from camping and he was a hot mess and of course not surprised Yuki is show ready.Thank you Lisa!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

would not recommend this groomer, she did work on my dogs paw without my knowledge causing him to bleed continuously without telling me this was a problem before leaving. Do Not Recommend! read more

We've brought our little Baby Chico (Maltipoo) here for years, and he loves Lisa and won't go anywhere else. She takes such good care of him and always tells us if he needs any special attention such as with nails or teeth cleaning. The prices are lower than anywhere else, and we always know that Chico is going to see Lisa - not one of twenty other groomers like those "other places." We LOVE LOVE LOVE Dog's Best Friend. read more

So I'd waited too long to get my Pom to the groomer's. Her undercoat was thoroughly matted--with one baby in the house and another on the way, I was guilty of some neglect in the dog-fussing-over department. Three other groomers had answered the phone huffily, only to assure me they couldn't fit me in till next week. Lisa had time for me that very morning; I brought in my darling dog with her Dr. Seuss-like coat, Lisa shook her head and said, "I might have to give her a GI Jane..." The shop was clean and the dogs there looked happy, so I said "OK, do what you have to." By that afternoon, I had one gorgeous and much happier little dog, who looked nothing like GI Jane but was cute as a button. Best grooming job we've had since moving to Pasadena three years ago. Highly recommended. read more

I had been taking my dog to this business for at least five years. They had always been great with her. But this last time she had four major cuts on her body and ear. Her ear took about 3 weeks to heal. I have yet to contact them about the issues but next time, IF I take her back (which will be never) i wilI have brought my dog here a couple times but these last 2 times were my last! Overall they don't do a very nice job cutting and styling my cocker spaniel. When i specifically asked them to not touch the head hair, they did it anyway and left the sides of her body uncut. With my other dog, yorkie mix, they told us to come in at 330 and when we went they told us that they couldn't do him in time and we had to leave. I was very disappointed with their attitude and how they wasted our time. I have found a new groomer and will not be coming back. Pet owners... do yourselves a favor a save yourselves the headache! do not bring your dogs here! read more

Horrible!! Have taken our dog here previous times and they did a reasonable job. It was a little pricey but decent job. The last time that we took our dog here, she came back with cut marks on her arms and stomach. Very disappointed especially for the price. read more

Great place. Lisa is amazing with the animals. You can tell she is an animal lover, and loves her job!

I brought my two Bichon's to this groomer on a recommendation. I dropped them off and then realized I hadn't told Lisa how I wanted them cut. I called immediately and told her I wanted to keep the round Teddy Bear faces, and a summer cut. She said she could certainly do that! When I came to pick them up I was in a hurry and noticed the summer cut, which was fine. When I got them both in the car I realized that both of them had puffs on the top of their heads, the round Teddy Bear cut was gone and the boy had no hair left on the back of his head or neck!! My little one also had a puff on top, no hair under her chin nor back of the head!!!! I gave this woman a tip to destroy the look they came in with! When I called her she told me that the boy was matted under his chin and behind his ears, and when I asked whey she clipped my little one the same strange way, she said "oh, well that's how I cut a round face." I was very upset and disappointed, as they went in looking fine and came out looking like small circus animals! It took a long time for their hair to grow into that cut, so now we have to wait. Thanks alot Lisa....you just lost a good client. read more

My husband and I took our dog here for the first time after several frustrating grooming experiences at Petsmart. Dog's Best Friend has a "first come, first served" policy: we dropped off our 20lb poodle-terrier mix around 8am, and picked him up around 2pm. He was crated when not being groomed, but that's fairly typical at small-business-type grooming places. The owner-operator was busy but very nice, and happy to answer my questions about pricing and grooming options. We paid $50 for a bath, cut, and nail trimming (which I think is a pretty good deal) and our dog came out VERY white and with a great cut. We'll absolutely come back here again. read more

I've been coming to Lisa for 8 years. I love how my dogs looks super cute after getting groomed here. She has been amazing with them. But most importantly I can trust Lisa with my dogs. I feel like they're in great hands. And there's is nothing more important to me than knowing that my babies are well taken care of. read more

I've used every groomer in town and there is no question Lisa is the best. Her mom was a groomer of championship poodles and this is still the facility used by owners of competition level dogs. Her prices are reasonable (don't compare an experienced groomer with some self-wash place!), perfectly clipped nails, anal glands expressed, ears cleaned and the cut appropriate to your breed. My dogs, who have since passed away, always ran eagerly in to see Lisa and came home fragrant, beautifully clipped and good to go for another month. read more

This place is horrible !!!!!!!!!!!! My dog went in today for the first time and when we pick him up his right eye was swollen and completely red!!! When the owner was confronted about the dogs injury she was completely rude and said she was not aware of anything ! So we take the dog to the vet and they told us that he was bleeding from they due to blunt trauma ! Anger by finding out the dog was Harass we go back to the groomers with a humane society officer and confront the owner again and she then admitted to hitting him because the dog scratched her!!!! To put the cherry on the top the cashier attempts to attack my friends mom. I believe if you love your pet you will never take your pet to this horrible groomers where they obviously have no love for animals ! read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! Lisa is the BEST! My usual groomer recently went out of business and I was looking for someone new. I called several other businesses but decided to try Dog's Best Friend, based on my phone call with Lisa. My dog recently had surgery and I was very concerned about dropping him off and leaving him in a new environment for several hours. She was beyond accommodating and understanding! Lisa was caring and gentle with my dog and my only wish is that I had found her sooner! HIGHLY RECOMMEND LISA! TRY HER, YOU WILL VERY HAPPY! read more

RUDE FRONT DESK PERSON (i cant believe she works among animals): I was visiting Pasadena by car recently with my dog. I found this place online along with their coupon. Since i was visiting, i did not have access to a printer, so i called the place several times during business hours to ask how i might take advantage of the coupon given i have no printer here (but made the effort to seek them online). i never got a live voice so i went in to ask in person. the woman working the front desk was so incredibly rude. she explained to me their coupon policy (must be printed), but even before that, she barely acknowledged me when i first walked in with my dog and was so curt when she finally decided to address me that i decided i was not going to contribute to her income (even though my dog needed a bath and i would be willing to pay full price were she not so customer unfriendly). read more

I can'e believe this place has so many good reviews. I took my miniature poodle here and she got the worst hair cut EVER! I'm not sure if there was a language barrier or something but I specifically told the guy I did not want my dogs hair SHORT! When I picked her up it looked liked he just shaved her body and left the legs long-didnt even tough them. I stayed and waited till after closing till he could get the cut somewhat decent. Also, poodles are supposed to be blown out and straight when groomed, however she was curly, ears still dirty, and nails not clipped. I went because of the price of 40 dollars but spent another 60 at a good groomer to fix the horrendous cut. There are good grooming shops in the area but this is definitely not one!!! read more
