Tried to reach a different place, but they wouldn't answer my email. So called Blue Ribbon Grooming and they were booked for Thursday, but had an opening Saturday. My poor dog was shedding so bad and her nails were long. She loves to roll in the dirt too! The proprietor took her in on time Saturday, called when she was done. I can't believe it has been four years that we have been taking our dogs to Isaac. We continue to be happy with his work and appreciate his sensitivity to our dogs as he addresses their various issues and differing personalities. He gets along well with all our dogs and is well liked by them. Our current dog has skin allergies and needed a special shampoo and Isaac knew just what we needed and was able to provide the shampo without our having to spend a lot of time looking around for it. I also especially appreciate that he provides a teeth cleaning service without having to sedate the dog in order to clean its teeth. Th shop is clean, well maintained and very roomy. I don't have a sense of the dogs being too crowded in and confined. Best of all, when we pick up our dogs they seem relaxed, happy and contented with themselves and their grooming. I had driven by Blue Ribbon for years, but when my groomer retired I decided to check it out. I had read the reviews on yelp and some of the recent ones weren't good, so I called Isaac to find out about them. We had a nice chat and I brought my two Bichon's to him for a slight trim and bathe. I specifically told him I wanted both to keep the round Teddy Bear faces. I knew the boy had some matting in the rear, but the mom had none. When I picked them both up they were cut down to the skin, and had been shaved under the chin!!! They looked like rats. He also told me that the boy had "severe ear infections" in both ears. I told him I would take them to the Vet. He told me he had the same anti-biotic for half the price, there. Like a fool, I took it. I spent over $200 that day. My babies look horrible and it will take months to grow them both back out!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

So I've called this guy for 3 days in a row and it always goes to voicemail, so I've left multiple voicemails. Keep in mind my dog is 19 year old poodle. He's blind and deaf! So I called and he finally answered. And he tells me that he refuses to groom poodles because they're jumpy and hyper and they're aggressive. I told him my dog is literally 19 years old, a senior, and he's a certified therapy dog for senior homes as well!!! Yet he continued to generalize all poodles as being untamed and wild. Then he told me that I didn't understand his experiences and what not. I mean although I find it very weird that he wouldn't want to take in my dog, I find it even more disrespectful that he didn't call me back to let me know ahead of time so that I could've made an appointment somewhere else. I am so glad I found this shop! I adopted my dog in Februrary, so he's only had one other grooming. At the Big Box, because they were (suspiciously) the only place open during the shut-down. It was time for another grooming for my short-haired pup (who is shedding loads during this heat wave), and fate brought me on a road detour right past Blue Ribbon Grooming. So, I jotted down the number and called.So happy I did! Professional, safe, sanitary, compassionate, patient, reasonably priced. What more can I say? Oh, I know: my dog is very skittish. He is a rescue and very fearful of new situations. After Big Box, he was a bundle of nerves and passed out from stress when we got him.
