I just wanted to say, how disappointed we are with our meal. First of all, the price I was charged for my foot long cony dog was not the price on the menu. Then, we were charged two dollars for something called kickin. Not sure what that was. There was no malt in my shake even though I paid for it. I ordered tots, we never got it. Although it didn't make it onto the receipt anyways. I ordered first and I got the coney dog but for some reason when my friend said "I'll have the same thing" she ended up with a chicago dog. Add on a credit card surcharge. We both took about two bites of our dogs and decided that they tasted terrible. We brought them homes and gave them to her boyfriend, who also thought they tasted horrible. He mentioned he had never had a hot dog he didn't like until now. The bread was stale. The chili was sweet, which was just weird. There was a surcharge for using a credit card. And because we paid up front, we tipped up front. Given how messed up our order was it just added insult to injury. My chocolate, peanut butter shake was good, but it wasn't what I ordered or what I paid for. What an absolute waste of money.

Delicious comfort food and locally own. This place just reopened for the season. With a casual atmosphere with the option to stay in your car or enjoy the outdoors setting. The service itself excellent. Best hot dog , burgers and chicken tenders. Now serving chocolate soft serve. Can't wait to be back!

I want nothing more than small independents to succeed, and you have to admire these people, formerly part of a chain that numbered in the hundreds and stretched across the midwest. Last I heard, the chain was down to about a dozen locations. Not sure if there is any central ordering or commisary supplier any more, perhaps each location sources their own food and concocts their own methods. I ordered the Texas burger and an order of fries. The menu board lacks any description, I would have made a different selection as the TX burger comes with BBQ sauce, which doesn't appeal to me. The fries were fine. Ordered a root beer, of course, but they were out of frosty mugs. The car hops are exceptionally courteous and friendly, either family members or maybe local high schoolers. It's a fun old-timey experience.

This is the perfect place to go for that dessert craving. Hubby and I came here (for the first time ever) after dinner in Richmond. We were craving milkshakes. Do you like your milkshake super thick and full of flavor? This is the place for you. In fact, their peanut butter milkshake is so thick they give you a spoon to eat it with as it won't sip through a straw very well. Hubby absolutely loved his peanut butter milkshake and ate it with the spoon. I loved my chocolate strawberry milkshake as I devoured it through the straw. Super thick and full of flavor. Easy to find on route 31 just north of Richmond, IL.

Going old school!

Dog & Suds is a diamond in the rough. They have great soft serve ice cream (and recently added chocolate!) and the service is great.

Man, is this place popular. Went there last night around 7 with a friend who is familiar with it…read more I'd never been, and if you don't know it's there it is a but of a hideaway but it was packed with people so you know it must be decent. It's kind of a typical bar and grill but has live music later in the evening, looked like volleyball and other stuff outside in the summer and do on. We sat at the bar at the first available seats. I have to say they were actually very padded and comfortable easy swivel on and off seats but kinda high for this "mature" non too tall gal to climb on. Next time it's a table for me thanks. So since it was Friday, officially fish fry day, that's what we both had. They have 4-5 different types of fish and it was a toss up between fried cod or sautéed Walleye. But again, it's fish FRY Friday so Fried battered cod it is. Lots of choices for sides too. I got fries and friend had potato pancakes. I tasted them and they were probably some of the best potato pancakes I've ever had. It came with rye bread and butter and coleslaw. As usual I could pass on the Cole slaw, and I thought the rye bread looked good but kinda unusual to me. Is that a Wisconsin thing? On to the fish. Great taste, moist, not overcooked and crispy batter. What more could you want. The fries were ok, and I appreciated they were not battered orange seasoned, just plain potatoes which is what I prefer. The bartenders were on top their game, efficient and friendly and busy as bees but knew when you'd like a refill of soda or another cocktail. This is a well deserved 5 star review if you're looking to have a traditional fish fry bar experience.

Possibly the best chicken tenders I've ever had!!!…read more This place is pretty unassuming. I came for the line dancing but I'll be back for the food. The chicken tenders came with ranch and a bbq sauce and as a sauce girl I LOVED both. I had no idea this place had won awards for their burgers. Basically what I'm trying to say is I'll be back to take a stab at the rest of their menu.
