Went for dinner and couldn't make it through the appetizer!! What a lovely little restaurant the atmosphere was great! Bartender was super friendly and quick with refills. We never made it through our pretzel, it was huge and delicious!! Went will be back to actually have dinner lol! I love that in the summer they open the garage door type windows so you get such a unique experience!! We will be back! Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

Brat with gyro meat and a side of coleslaw. All really good!

I have driven through Richmond a few times but never stopped. It always looked like a cute little town. I live about one hour away. My hubby and I decided to take a drive and check out the BratHaus. So glad we did! The restaurant decor and vibe are fun. We had great service. We loved our drinks and food. Yes, the pretzel is huge, really good and totally worth the cost. I don't like sweet drinks and I like to try different kinds of drinks. I had the fig mule. Yum! My hubby had a German beer in a big boot mug. I had the brat with gyros meat on it. Very flavorful. The brats here are more traditional, like a white brat. The gyro meat was tender. The side of coleslaw was tasty. My hubby had a burger with cherry shredded pork on it. Different and delicious. All around a great experience. We will be back!

Food is GREAT and the portions are large. First time I went I ordered the Friday fish fry. It was outstanding. And the waffle fries (potato pancakes) were unexpected and delicious. Today I had a bratwurst. It was huge and did not disappoint. Now they have Yuengling. A great beer added to an already extensive list. The place is really cool and it looks like they have some great outdoor seating. Can't wait to try it when the weather warms up. I highly recommend that you give this place a try.

Delicious food, friendly service. Neighborhood dive bar vibe. Several bratwursts on the menu along with appetizers, burgers, beer, and booze. Prices are reasonable too. Fun place.

After visiting the famous International House of Wine and cheese, we decided to get a bite to eat. Stop at the Richmond Brat House, and we were not disappointed. Such a great place to get a great brat! Had the Bavarian Wurst and German potato salad. Oh SO GOOD!!!! Great Deutsch decor! Staff was very polite and attentive. A little on the pricey side, but you definitely get what you pay for. Definitely a return trip.

Chris, our bartender, was awesome! He was knowledgeable about all the beers and cocktails, and gave great recommendations. He chatted with us but also kept a keen eye on the bar and never missed serving his patrons. His barback, Connor, kept up a good pace and was always active. We ate at the bar but the servers looked to be excellent too. My only complaint would be the hostess who I thought was an owner by her loud and bossy attitude with her fellow coworkers. She seemed friendly enough with some patrons but we were grateful every time she left our vicinity. If not for Chris and the excellent food and beverages we would not have spent what we did and stayed as long as we did. We will definitely come back soon!

Really nice restaurant in downtown Richmond. ordered the giant pretzel with bier cheese really tasty I enjoyed it nothing in comparison to any other pretzel I had way better than auntie Annie's or Wetzel pretzel. I ordered Baja chicken sandwich with tator tots it was really flavorful. service was quick food was all fresh and hot. I would Def be back again for another pretzel.

My mom and I were in the mood for German food and stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting Lake Geneva. Brat Haus is about 10-15 minutes from Lake Geneva in Richmond, IL and is a hidden gem! I love how they have kept true to their roots with this space and it is really cozy inside. My mom and I got the sausage sampler and cheese curds. The cheese curds with ranch sauce was so good. Breading was on point and the cheese was fresh and local. The sausage platter was very satisfying. We had a sampling of jalapeño Cheddar, polish, bacon Cheddar and swiss bratwurst. All of them were so good and they give you a nice portion. It comes with sauerkrat, caramelized onions and mustard. We really enjoyed both appetizers. Overall, mom and I loved this place! Next time, we'd like to try the colossal pretzel. A lot of people were ordering it and the name of it suited it well!

We were on a return bike trail ride and needed to refill our water bottles on this hot - 93 degree day. We went down the street to find restaurant or somewhere to fill our bottles. Waiting at the cross walk for cars to stop was ridiculous, when suddenly appeared Kimmy, the cute hostess from the Brathaus pressing the cross walk button for us. She offered to fill our bottles with ice and water. Check #2! We stopped in and had a beer and cocktail in this cute bar and grill - love the atmosphere, patio and new tables and bar stools against the exterior wall. Love the garage style windows that are opened raised to let a cool breeze in. The drinks were refreshing and we were treated very kindly. I can't comment on the food, because we only had tater tots. And hope to come back soon to try something out. Please take care of your hostess. Get her a cross guard stop sign. She's truly a gem!

Paisano's on Broadway occupies a unique--and important--place in Richmond's dining landscape…read more Credit where it's due: Phil and Karen Gilardi were instrumental in elevating the town beyond pure fast-food dependence. They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.
