Not sure how I feel about this place. When I venture out to the hill country I like to try different places. I wanted to like it since the service was friendly. You can tell the oil is so old used for frying. The food is bland and I even questioned my choices of eating raw ous

Blackened Catfish

In town visiting our daughter and wanted to try Doc's. Tuesday night plenty of parking out front. Asked for a booth in the bar. Glad we did because Leann took excellent care of us. I had their blackened catfish with dirty rice and coleslaw. Very good. Wife had a pork chop with baked potato and green beans. Everything was good. Daughter had two types of shrimp- okay but not the best she had before. She had hers blackened and grilled- I'm thinking maybe getting fried shrimp might have been a better choice. Place is very clean. The star is the service we received from Leann.

Onion Spinner

Food and service was okay. The chicken fried steak batter was very crispy and didnt stick to the patty much. Patty tasted overly marinated and salty. The fried onion appetizer was delicious with the chipotle mayo. Fried cheese puppies and fried seafood platter was okay, nothing special. The loaded baked potato was my favorite.

Crawfish season is here. They did them well! Spicy if you want, sausage, shrooms, potato!

This was freaking amazing!!!!

This place we found while roaming around for place to eat following a martial arts competition. We were very happy we stumbled upon it. By the way marble falls is gorgeous! The calamari and Brussel sprouts were so great. Some of the best we've ever had. The gumbo was confusing and disappointing. The twist didn't work. The onion spinner was delicious as well! The Alfredo was a little bland. The negatives besides the few mentioned was the food took a little longer than we would have liked. The waitress apologized and was very attentive! We would come here again and try other menu items!

First time here but no question we will be back. We went simply because of the name. It was a Friday evening and it wasn't hard to get a place to park. Inside, it's a bit rustic and much of what is in the place has probably been in place since restaurant was built. We are big fans of "peel-n-eat" shrimp and honestly, that was the first thing we looked for on the menu. It's actually not very common but that was the selling point. We came a bit later and there was plenty of parking. Our server was Megan and she was very friendly and attentive. We were set on the peel and eat shrimp so that was first on the order. When she brought it out, she cautioned the horse radish was a bit spicier than most; she wasn't joking! I love spicy and this is amazing. They seem to use Old Bay seasoning and the shrimp were good... but not as good as we hoped. I'm not sure if the shrimp were overcooked or just not fresh shrimp. We are new to the area and everywhere we have been they serve this amazing fresh Texas gulf shrimp; I'm not sure if this was but if it was fresh shrimp, it was overcooked which is easy to do with peel-n-eat. That all being said, we wouldn't hesitate to order again and we will the next time. They menu has quite a few offerings of steak and seafood but just to keep it simple, we went with the Camp Burger and to mine, I added blue cheese crumbles. And for a side, I did the baked potato (loaded). It wasn't long after we finished the shrimp she brought out our burgers. These are full size burgers and it looked like fresh ground beef; not some frozen patties. They ran out of lettuce and threw on some spinach. It comes with pickle, tomato and onion. And on the side, they provide mustard and mayonnaise. You know it's a great burger when you don't put any condiments at all on the burger and rare if the time when I don't put any condiments on. But this burger is so flavorful, you don't need to, and really shouldn't, put any condiments on this burger. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and honestly, some of the BEST cheesecake I've ever had. We even went back a few days later just to get some cheesecake. It's a fun place and the food is pretty good. Definitely worthwhile trying and you really can't go wrong.

One of my favorites! Last in oysters were a bit over fried, other than that all was great! Glad to see a new owner that seems to care!

Menu is on the wall and you order and pay at the counter. We got 1lb of ribs which comes with 3-6 depending on their size, 1 side of green beans and 1 side of potato salad, and a sweet tea. Total was about $40 My husband said these were the best ribs he's ever eaten. They had the right amount of smoke, the meat was juicy and fell off the bone. They don't have a lot of seasoning so the smoke and rib flavor really shinned through. The greens beans were the thick kind with onions and butter. Would definitely return.

Seems to be plenty of parking in the back and there is dining inside. I am not sure when they open, but when I got there just a little after 1pm on a Sunday, they had already sold out of the ribs. I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich with a side of potato salad. Overall, I would say the pork was satisfactory, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The meat was very salty and I almost didn't finish it. There was quite a bit of fat with the meat. Topped with a few pickle chips but overall, pretty dry and again, way too salty. I will likely come back to try some ribs and brisket but I see I need to get there much earlier if I want that. The staff are nice. I was also shocked to see the prices. Someone posted a photo of their menu back in August 2024 (not even a year ago) but already the meat prices have doubled and in some... more than doubled.

I saw it was "A Very Merry Tamale Day" and thought of trying some tamales. I had called on the way up and asked if they sold the Tamales just hot or also frozen and they said both. The price was $24 for a dozen. We looked at the menu and asked some questions from the waitress so she gave us a few minutes as we looked over the Tamale Day menu. She told us the only item not available was the Pork w/Habanero Tamale. We decided on the Solo Tamales which are a 4-Tamale entree and the Veracruz Tamale which I wanted a la carte w/o the beans and rice. The waitress said that would be $8 vs. the entree which was $12. She said it was a big tamale as I asked what the difference was between a regular tamale and this one wrapped in a Banana Leaf? I was intrigued! For the Solo Tamales, we chose 2 Chicken Tamales, Pork & the Chicken & Cream Cheese. I wasn't interested in the Spinach and Mushroom. After a few minutes, we were served the Tamales. We split the 4-Tamales so we could try each flavor. The Chicken & Cream Cheese Tamale was surprisingly tasty since it had the Cream Cheese inside. The Pork and Chicken had a red seasoning so you couldn't distinguish between Pork and Chicken. I'd say the ratio of meat to Masa on the chicken was more Masa. It wasn't something to write home about. The huge Veracruz Tamale was moist, very flavorful, had lots of tender meat and so tasty that I finished the whole thing!! It was nice to have the sour cream dollop, shredded lettuce and pico de gallo on the side. I would've ordered a few to take home if we weren't planning on window shopping. The decor is rustic with lots of wood in the booths & on the ceiling. The place was pretty quiet as there wasn't any music playing and only one other booth had folks until we left where another set of customers sat in the front table by the entrance. It would've been nice if they had napkin dispensers on the tables. The tabletop seemed kinda sticky. Bathrooms are ample but the middle bathroom is very short in depth between the door and toilet. Place is pretty casual and there's seating in the back patio.

The chef told the server it was not bad but being from Louisiana I've eaten ten times my weight in fried catfish i know what I know. The server, Louie, was excellent. He was super gracious and we will come back because of him and his exemplary customer service. He took it off the bill and was very concerned I would be going home hungry. What a caring heart. Was going to give 2 stars but Louie's attitude bumped the experience to three stars. I'll review again next time but no catfish for me here. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful evening air and view.
