My second visit to Docs tonight was disappointing. It took better than an half hour to get our food and it had been sitting in the kitchen, was Luke warm and pretty much a mess. Ordered a Po' Boy. Asked if I could have a mix of shrimp and oysters. Got a shocked look from the waitress who had to run back to the kitchen to see if they could mix it. A Shrimp and Oyster Po' Boy is a standard Po' Boy order in most seafood restaurants. Was told ok. Received Po' Boy with exactly 3 shrimp and three Oysters for 13 dollars plus an upcharge for the mix. YIKES! My wife had grilled shrimp kabob's. 2 skewers of 3 medium shrimp each. Overcooked and rubbery for 15 bucks. RIP OFF! There are other restaurants within a 2 minute drive with much better seafood than this cheap, overpriced imitation. Not going back. 2 stars for the wait staff who were cheerful and attentive. read more

Docs was walking distance from our hotel, a nice find. The waitress was right on top of things excellent dinner suggestions. Live music was a nice surprise. It was a little dark for a family restaurant but all in all we were very pleased. read more

This is a cool place with better than expected food and the only thing better than the food is the bartender "Mike!" Sit at the bar! Coldest beer mugs in town and the BEST Mexican Martini! Brussel sprout appetizer was awesome! I had the Willie The Greek salad with shrimp and it was great. The shrimp weren't as big as I hoped but....the taste made up for it! Thought I would give this place another try today since I read that they were "Under New Management" a while back. Nothing on the menu has changed at all. They are still serving frozen pre-battered shrimp from one of the big food companies like Sysco or Ben E. Keith. The lunch basket consisted of 3 tiny shrimp and a tiny stuffed crab that was smaller than the size of 1/2 of my fist and a bunch of over fried sweet potato fries. The only thing that was homemade was a little tiny plastic container of nothing but cabbage with a tiny bit of shredded carrot in it. Service was OK, but for my $15.99 for a mixed basket of little to nothing, I won't be going back there. They really need to up the home cooking game. The table next to me ordered the chicken fried chicken and the server brought out the chicken fried steak for both of the guests. Sad! Do better! read more

I usually go to this place a couple of times a year. They have a full bar and the fish is excellent. Their steak is usually cooked very well, and we like sitting outside on the deck when the weather permits. The service is hit or miss - sometimes we get a waiter or waitress that is excellent, and other times they disappear for most of the meal. read more

So let's start with the service here....Autumn took care of us and she was dynamite! Made good recommendations, was honest about how some of the sides were, and didn't let us go thirsty...really did a great job! Thank you! The wife and I got an appetizer of hush puppies and, hands down, the best I have ever had. Came with three dipping options as well. We split the shrimp platter...seven different varieties. This also came with a dipping platter, with even more choices. Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. Beer menu is pretty good with some local favorites, and my wife really liked her strong margarita. Key lime pie for dessert...not as 'limey' as I would have expected, but still damn good. My Wife and I recently had great lunch at Doc's. Don't you sometimes just crave some fried seafood and cold beer? I ordered the combination platter and it was excellent. Kathie Paxton was our server and we couldn't have been happier. We live in Austin but with the whole covid thing and our population boom in recent years we decided to make the short trip to Marble Falls. You wear the mask until seated then it's business as usual. It was a week day and wasn't super crowded so it made for a nice lunch and got to see some beautiful Texas Hill country along the way. Get out of quarantine and go check out Doc's Fish Camp! I would love to give this restaurant a good review because the waitress was amazing but the gumbo was so salty that hours later my tongue still stings. My husbands shrimp Diablo was very soggy and my grilled shrimp were over cooked. The cleanliness of the restaurant was sketchy. Good place to get SeaFood in town. Sometimes it takes a while for the food to come out but it always comes out fresh and hot. The times I have been there the wait staff has pretty knowledgeable on the menu and very attentive. I haven't been in a while but when I go the main plate I get is the Popcorn Shrimp and extra hush puppies! I mean how can you not get extra hush puppies at a sea food restaurant! We couldn't decide where we wanted to go and finally decided here. I had blackened catfish which was pretty good along with the Mexican Martini (YUM) . My husband had fried catfish and shrimp he said it was so so. My son had pan fried tilapia and said he liked it a lot and would get again. Everytime we drive past this place is SUPER busy. We decided to make the stop today. One of our favorite local spots has an amazing fried catfish sandwich, so naturally, we tried the Catfish Po Boy. The sandwich was a little small, however the flavors were good. I ordered the catfish poboy, overall I'd say the food was pretty basic. It wasn't anything I'd come back for but it wasn't anything I couldn't eat. The poboy consisted of pretty thin store bought bread. The fried catfish within was pretty bland, thin and possibly over fried as it was a bit crunchier than I'd have liked. The fries and coleslaw however were great! My boyfriend got the New York strip and said it was pretty average- could have cooked a better one at home. I saw someone mention that it was your average bar cooked food and that I'd say that's a pretty decent way of describing it. read more
