Cheese curds! 1 of 2 orders
Steve A.

This is a tough place to rate! I really must say with a tone of sadness, because I have a couple of thoughts. First of all, it's more fast food. Sorta like Smashburger. You order at the counter, go to your seat, they bring your food over. Refill soda machine's over at the side, go over as often as needed. Come in with that expectation and not a sit-down restaurant. On that note, I won't be commenting on atmosphere, since it sure feels like a standard fast-food joint. Service was relatively quick on all our orders, getting us out in nice time to head out for the rest of the afternoon. Sometimes two people on the same order got food at different times. Sometimes one thing came out followed by the other, but it was always pretty quick. Food... mixed. It's inexpensive, but that reflects in the food. I got one of the sandwiches, subbed cheese curds for the fries, and added a second order of cheese curds. Unfortunately, the curds are deep-fried here, thick breading, overwhelms the curd. I hate to say it in the Curd State but these are my least favorite curds ever. I still like them. I will never dislike fried curds. But these are at the bottom because of that breading. The sandwich, since I don't remember anything about it (or if it was a burger instead haha), is automatically 4 stars. So that's a wrap. I wouldn't feel right giving this place 3 stars. It's not pretending to be more than what it is: a local fast food joint centered on local tastes. That puts it above chains and it's a great bang for your buck, so 4 stars makes sense.

Italian Beef sandwich and Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich

I went to Beloit College, and loved Doc's while I was there, but it had been about 3 years before I'd been there. My dad and I decided to make a drive to go grab lunch, and we don't regret it! The food is just as good as we remember. I had the Italian beef sandwich and made it a combo meal to get fries and a drink, he got the Turkey Bacon Ranch Sub. Both of these were delicious, they are a bit messy, so grab some napkins While the dine in seating was pretty quiet, the drive thru is obviously quite popular for lunch. It's a standard fast food type atmosphere, so there isn't much to comment on. It did take a while for us to get our food, but I think that's due to the lunch rush and number of drive thru orders. I would definitely recommend Doc's for a quick lunch or dinner, the food is worth the wait!

Solid burger. Was a bit apprehensive at first. Wound up here because Culver's was remodeling. Similar price as Culver's and tasty. Give it a try

A hot, juicy, delicious cheeseburger!

I had to take a client to Beloit, WI. Shoot me now!!! After the trip there, I was very hungry and had no idea where to go in Beloit to eat. I looked on my phone and my fellow yelpers gave this place 4 stars. So I told myself "Self, let's check the place out." I was a little nervous about the place because only one another person was eating there. I ordered two cheeseburgers, fries, cheese curds. These two pattied smash burgers were some of the juiciest, seasoned, delicious, hot burgers I have ever had. Oh my goodness! I had the place to myself with tv's on the Sox's playoff win. What a good moment! Service was decent. Fries were hot and delicious. Stay away from the cheese curds. They are nasty. If you are ever on the road and you're rolling through Beloit, stop in and get a couple of burgers and fries. You will not regret it. Hell, I wish Doc's was in Chicago!!! "Whassup, Doc's???" (I couldn't help myself...lol)

Romeo & Juliet: the perfect couple

Juicy cheeseburgers is what the Doc prescribed!!!!! These burgers are insane!! Absolutely life-changing, to put it lightly. The best part of Beloit is this restaurant! A new staple on my Wisconsin drives down I-90. I'd eat my own ass if someone could convince me it tasted as good as Doc's amazing, life-changing cheeseburgers!! Even if you already have the perfect life, still go to Doc's and just see how they can change your life. The fries are fucking bomb-ass shit too!! A+++ all around!

Very high priced. Got a Italian beef $8.99 no drink or fries and the sandwich was not so great.

Not the kind of place to write home about... but I like it…read more Simple with a simple menu. The food is good not spectacular. The prices are in line with the type of place it is. Generous pours. Small variety of beer on tap. Good music (to me) medium to light rock. If I don't like you I won't review you.

I went to celebrate my birthday there. Little after 3pm on 3/31/25. I had such the worst service…read more The lady didn't pay attention to my husband and I when we let her know respectfully said we were ready to order. Because she was just continue to talk to her regularly customer which you can clearly see. As she started to make our drink she stopped in the middle of it to get another drink for the man she kept talking to. Which clearly was her friend. She even put in the wrong hamburger order in after bringing mine out. So my husband had to wait longer as I waited to eat. The drink was terrible. And try to enjoy my birthday meal and drink it was just bad. I still try to stay positive. So I order a different drink thinking it would be better. She took her a little bit to get her attention again. Their were only her two friend and 3 other people. I was so upset to have a terrible birthday experience. I still left a tip bcz that's what I do which I shouldn't have and am mad at myself I did. I just didn't know how to give it back and her see I didn't leave somthing. But I will tell everyone I know not to go there at all and just how horrible my birthday experience was. I TRUELY will never go there again. The bar lady had terrible service and just made me feel that our presence their was in her way of focus on her conversation with the man and women she was talking to the whole time. Am pissed that I picked there to have my special birthday and just to experience such terrible service and drink. We spent $65 there. It was Just Bad Bad And I do mean Bad all the way around. What a Happy Terrible Birthday time. TRUELY upset. If I could give a "0" score I would.

The Road Dawg Family Restaurant is my dad's regular Thursday spot, and he brings me here every time…read moreI'm in town. Located right off the interstate, it has that classic highway diner feel. The main sign on the pole has definitely seen better days, and the place as a whole feels a bit run down. As you walk in, be careful of the trip hazard at the entrance--it's a bit uneven. It's a little "divey," but don't let that be a dealbreaker. It's just an observation, a reminder not to judge a book by its cover. Note to management: Some minor fixes could give it a little more curb appeal. Stepping inside, you'll see the main dining room and an old buffet area that I assume hasn't been used since COVID. It's all a bit dated, but clean and functional. They serve breakfast all day and have a full lunch and dinner menu as well. Even though it was a relatively busy Sunday morning, we were greeted and seated quickly and didn't have to wait long for our initial service. Almost before I could take a sip of my no-frills, bottomless cup of $3 coffee, our giant portions of breakfast arrived. It was an omelette kind of day for us. We placed a special order for my dad (he's got his usual), I got the Denver Omelette ($14) with jalapeños, and my stepmom ordered the Meat Eaters Omelette ($15). They opted for toast, and I got the pancakes, which were a meal in themselves. While the prices have increased significantly since my first visit, the large portions are big enough to share or take half home, which is exactly what we did. We were a little ignored and never asked if everything was as expected. We did, however, get coffee refills and eventually received the bill and some to-go boxes. Another note to management: The bell that incessantly rings every time someone comes or goes needs to go! By the time we left, I was anxious and extremely tired of the bell. I feel sorry for the employees who have to listen to that all day long! Overall, this place does a good and honest business. Aside from the bell and the slight dip in attention, we enjoyed our meal.
