Ordered 2 Sizz burgers and an order of chicken nuggets. No fries or drinks, just those three items. Wife said the burger was okay, I thought mine was pretty good although next time I'm going to order an extra meat patty as it wasn't all that filling. The chicken nuggets seemed like they had potential to be good but were somewhat dried out from being overcooked. The order took just over 15 minutes to be ready which seemed like a lot considering the order was small and there wasn't exactly a line. I do plan on going back at some point when it's just myself but I would never try and feed my family from here. Just the two burgers and chicken nuggets were almost $40 after taxes and tip which I feel is a lot for a light lunch.

I visited on 5/2/25 at roughly 6PM. I made a special trip across town specifically for a plant-based burger and requested that it be prepared without salt. Unfortunately, I was served a burger with burnt plant-based patties and overly salty, overcooked fries. As a regular customer who has always been satisfied with your service and food quality, I was very disappointed with my experience today.

It was a frigid Thursday late morning in January. After being held against my will in a long…read morebusiness meeting downtown, I emerged from the building hangry. I was planning to hit up any fast food joint to cure my hunger, but to my surprise, parked adjacent to the parking lot was a big, blue food truck called "The Olive Branch." At 15 degrees Fahrenheit, the idea of standing outside for more than 30 seconds was unappealing, but my hunger was a bigger problem. With my wife in tow, I didn't want to have her sit and make her wait for me, but she asked if I wanted to order food from the truck. With her blessing, I decided to pull the trigger and walk over. I do love Mediterranean food, and to point out the obvious, this food truck was definitely that...but the first thing I noticed as I approached was "HOT CHOCOLATE $3" in big letters on the ordering window. I immediately decided that instant that I didn't know what I was eating yet, but I knew what I was going to wash it down with! The special, also posted on the window, was "Gyro Tacos" - and it showed a picture of two taco-looking items, but I assumed they had gyro fixings instead of taco meat. So, I told the nice lady, "Give me a hot chocolate and the special." I asked her, "Can you make those fast?" and she didn't hesitate. Within 2.5 seconds, she threw three tortillas on the cooking surface, and I was already thinking, "Hmm, three tortillas, not two - YASSS!" They accepted Apple Pay, so I appreciated their technological savvy in 2025. You know what else? She was so nice, she gave me a discount on the hot chocolate for no reason at all! All in all, I waited less than five minutes for the tacos. To fight the cold, I stood in the sun, rotating my body 180 degrees every 15-20 seconds. Meanwhile, amazing smells oozed out of the cracks of the food truck. After a quick moment, she handed me the "to-go" box and hot chocolate. I went back to my Jeep and opened the box. The tacos were neatly and skillfully assembled, visually packed to the gills. I basically devoured them like a dog being introduced to a perfectly seasoned, medium rare Tomahawk Steak at his last meal. They tasted like high-quality ingredients, very flavorful, with yummy, flaky, light feta cheese sprinkled on top. The hot chocolate was also the bomb. Afterwards, I felt full and satisfied. I don't normally tip the owner/chef/operator (which I assumed who this person was), but I decided to do so anyways due to their generosity. It was appreciated. If you're downtown and see this bright blue truck, swing by and say Joe sent you. I'd recommend this food truck to anyone. Thx for the extra taco and the discounts! I wish you luck through the winter!

Since then I have discovered they park down the street from my work on Thursdays. I started ordering the Greek rice bowl which I think is fantastic. I usually don't eat all of the pita when I get a gyro anyway so the rice bowl is perfect for me. It comes with a Greek salad, rice, choice of meat, and a few pita triangles. I like to add feta and tzatziki sauce too. You can also order ahead on their website. I usually do that since I'm typically getting it for lunch when I'm at work.

Which is to say it's…read morethe only food truck that's sat at the end of my block, but that recently changed when Imperial Oak Brewing opened up last weekend. I found out that The Pizza Via would be there today and hello? Food truck. End of block? You do the math. I try to try the weird food items whenever possible. I mean, I could make a plain old sausage or pepperoni pizza in my own oven at home. I wouldn't even have to walk to the end of my block for such a thing. But this, this had to be special, so I went with the Italian Beef pizza. According to the website this is: Hand made Italian Beef, giardiniera, roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella. It was all of those things. The claim on the side of the truck is that the oven reaches 1000 degrees and can cook your pizza in 60 seconds. Well, it took a little bit longer than that, but I'm not complaining. The lady at the window was super-duper friendly and accommodating. And when I told her I was going to take my dogs and wait over in the grass she was all too willing to flag me down when it was ready. The pizza was just okay. It sounds like it would be a fantastic combination of flavor exploding in your mouth, but the truth is, there wasn't a whole lot of flavor beyond the cheese. The beef is very thin and just doesn't hold much flavor on its own. And the giardiniera and peppers just kind of blended into the sauce. Plus the crust was too thin to sustain itself and was almost paper thin in areas, while the end had blackened marks on it, and was a little bland. Would I visit The Pizza Via again? Sure, especially if they visit the end of my block again. But I don't think I'd seek them out purposefully for a return visit. I hope that as time goes by they improve their flavors, and I'll be sure to update this review with the new things I try and their success.

They were steady for lunch but not nearly as busy as I expected at 1230 on a Friday. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was very nice. She was very polite and attentive. I ordered the one thing I came for (obviously), and was surprised by how quickly It was ready. Something I appreciated as I was on lunch at work, so I had limited time to begin with. The Gyro was delicious! I got their pickled onions on the side as I wasn't sure how strong they'd be. They were actually very good and an excellent compliment to the gyro itself. The Gyro was served with Potato Wedges. These I could have done without, they differed in size so the cook was drastically different depending on which one you got. The small ones were almost over done and the large ones weren't cooked enough. The Sandwich was definitely the highlight of my meal. This place is so cool, Such a beautiful building with amazing outdoor seating. My other complaint is the price. $20+ for a sandwich (after tax) is outrageous. I am very happy to have tried it, It was delicious. I most likely won't go back for that sandwich though. Too many options around at a fraction of the price. This place definitely deserves to be tried by everyone. They are one of the best spots in all of Rockford.
