Stopped in on Valentines Day, We must have hit the right time the place was busy but there were a few open tables. We were promptly seated and greeted by I believe a manager, our server was right behind her taking our drink order, we had looked at the Valentines Couples special and ordered, it consisted of a choice of starter ( shrimp cocktail or bruschetta ( , and a small salad, 12 oz NY strip steak, ( $10 uncharge for 16oz bone in ribeye) 2 sides and a desert to split. Everything came out quickly but not so quick to rush us. Everything was spot on. Driving to WI from Chicago and needed to stop for lunch. The town of Belvedere hosts Coach's Corner a local sports restaurant. Great upbeat music on the sound system. March Madness on the multiple tvs. We sat in the bar, and there is a dining area as well. Our server was very nice and helped with recommendations. I got the Coach's Triumph Burger, their signature burger, and it was cooked perfectly! Burgers made with chuck, brisket & short rib meat. Yum! I would get this again. Fries are battered, good if you like battered fries. Hubby got chicken tenders with broccoli. I thought the tenders were a bit heavy on the breading, but hubby enjoyed them. We went to a supper club on Saturday just at the border of Wisconsin and Illinois at a place called Benedict supper club. We expected to have a great steak dinner at this steakhouse, but unfortunately, it was is terrible. Sunday we decided to go to coaches to grab a bite, we had the Butcher block; which was offering a New York strip steak salad and two sides. This New York steak we had blue away that Wisconsin club, with no doubt superior taste, texture, and size. This may not be a Wisconsin supper club, coaches corner, but their food is just as good. You've gotta give them a try if you've not been there. read more

Good place to drink and eat for being somewhere in Belvidere. It may actually be one of the best places in town. Coach's Corner is a better than expected sports bar and grill. For sure it was a lot nicer than it initially looked like about to enter it. The inside is clean and modern, and there's actually a hostess stand, making them among the town's higher class places. Assumed it was a divy sports bar. It's actually a pretty nice place to be honest. This is a pretty safe place to bring a family as it turned out. It's about $7 for a basic cocktail. Whiskey and whatever. Among the food there's not a whole lot of vegetarian choices. Some smaller appetizers or bites though. It's about $5 for the Chips & Coach's Salsas. That's plural, as there's arbol and tropical habanero flavors of these. Hot stuff so be careful. The rest of the food is regular stuff like burgers and fries. For a sports bar in a boring town it's good enough. It's a much nicer experience than expected to be sure. The staff is mostly friendly and there's good prices on things. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped here for dinner. She ordered chicken tenders with French fries and I ordered the Gourmet Macaroni & Cheese with BBQ Pulled Pork. Each entree was enough for at least 2 meals. They batter their fries first which sounds gross but the suprr light batter is just enough to make them crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Picked a busy Friday night for our first visit to Coach's, but we were pleasantly seated within minutes. Our server was a bubbly and knowledgeable young woman who artfully worked our table with just the right amount of service. Our order was delivered quickly, and the portions were substantial. Definitely a 1 and done. Ordered 6 wings ate 1 Ordered a tall glass a beer had a sip. Warm glass= not cold beer, seemed flat as well. Wings are not it at all probably some of the worse I've had. French Fries (not pictured) are actually really good, only reason I gave an extra star. read more

It's been quite awhile since I frequented this establishment. I did a review when they first opened, ( pre-Covid) and this is sort of a follow up to that. First, let me start with what really impressed me- Physical plant/ Ambience- If you asked me how old the remodel was on this place, I would say a few months. Everything looks just as clean, and maintained, as it did years ago. Ray Kroc would have tears in his eyes, on how well this place was maintained. The bathroom looks brand new. Pin ball machines were a very nice addition, for those of us tired of funding the state thru the slot machines. Service- I realize that every place has good and bad days, but it is obvious this place has a service culture. This starts from the owner, and works its way down. Our service was excellent today, as I am sure it is, in a regular basis. Food- Very fast, and came out perfect. I had the wings, and they were great. My wife had a blue cheese burger, that was also impressive. The menu has evolved into bar food, as I said they would on my first review. However, when you do bar food well, you can still be successful. Beverages- I had a 16 ounce Blue Moon draft at $5.00, which was a good price. My only gripe, is the lack of selection on tap beer. No micro brews. Even Guinness would be a nice choice. I think the place opened with too few taps available. If you are going to do your ambience a favor, make the product you sell worthy of it. Remember, the hole in the wall dive bar they replaced, had them beat in two respects. The Friday night fish fry was epic, and they had Pig Slap Vanilla Porter on tap. My suggestion, add 4 more taps- Ps- The owner of Belvidere Appleby's needs to spend a day or two here- service ambience. read more

I have eaten here many times. I try something new on the menu every time. I have absolutely loved every bite of food! The portions are very generous and I always go home with a box. Darryl was an amazing bartender, very attentive and engaging. We had the wings which were perfect, two different sauces on the side no issue customizing our order. They were fresh and crispy, perfectly cooked. We also had da bare down burger and the blue thunder burger, both were huge and had some great seasoning in the meat. We couldn't have picked a better spot to watch the bears play and see all of the other games on too. Will definitely be back when we're all in town. read more

No one at the hostess stand to tell my daughter if/what the wait was on a Saturday night. Maybe no wait should have been our clue after leaving three places last night to find a table. They've replaced their dining room with gaming. Not a fan of sitting in a bar area with kids. Ordered our drinks (water & pop) and the waitress brings us a list of Saturday only food. Not the menu listed on the website. I've tried giving this place a couple more tries in the last year only to be confused as to whether it was open or not, not have someone pick up when we wanted to get carryout, no normal menu. I asked the very nice waitress to cash out my daughters soda, paid and left. I love supporting local businesses, but they clearly only care about catering to a certain customer and it's not families. Very disappointed as we loved it when it first opened, but this is off our list of local picks. read more

I was so happy to see they had nachos with fresh chips, but no. I ordered the plate of nachos which was mostly old (maybe bagged) chips and unmelted shredded cheese. I don't understand why anyone makes nachos this way. If you're going to make a gigantic plate of nachos then make some queso cheese, deep fry the tortillas to order, (so easy to do, pie cut corn tortillas and drop them in the fryer) make sure ALL of the chips have cheese, and top with tomatoes, onions, and pickled jalapeños...very few people can tolerate fresh jalapeños! And I know the chefs like to do the fancy squirt bottle sour cream, but that shit should be served on the side, with the salsa. Oh and lettuce goes on tacos, not nachos! read more

Small Town dive bar feel. Food is ok, nothing special, but the drinks are very good and well priced.

Disappointed. Liquor way over priced. Its a clean place but come on. Its belvidere. The fries were worse than frozen Aldi fries. For a higher priced bar/restaurant, serving hard crumbly fries is pretty lazy. Stupid names for most of the items on the menu too. Tried waaaay too hard with the names. "MonsTENDERS of the Midway" Really???? And finally on the kids menu they offer Mac and cheese. But it was frickin Kraft Mac and cheese. Not the good stuff. Again, Lazy. Fish was good on Friday but fries sucked and cole slaw wasn't coleslaw. It was bland lettuce. Maybe they'll get the kinks out. I hope they do but Applebees is a much better value overall and that's pathetic. read more
