The taco salad was good. It came in a taco shell & I added jalapeños. The smash burger was really good though! Tasty, juice and full of flavor. The place is pretty loud for 6 pm dinner but I kinda liked the bar feel, makes me feel like a younger self when we went out all night.

Lots of interesting stuff hanging on the walls, although that moose is a misrepresentation, you can't put double horns in there and expect people not to notice. Really what I loved the most was the cash register they had behind the bar. The food was OK. Not great.! first of all the meat was phenomenal. I had the New York strip. But the salad and all the sides were worse than a cafeteria. Like really really poor. It doesn't increase food cost that much to throw a little mixed greens in your salad so it's actually healthy. Overall, I had a great experience but it's because I love good steak. Personally, I think high-quality sides make or break a restaurant.

We came Thursday night specifically for the the specials. Old fashioneds and half price appetizer with two entrees. They have them on the menus, social media, website etc. When our bill came, the old fashioneds were priced correctly, but not the half off appetitezer. So that needed to be corrected, but our server was happy to take care of that once my husband brought it to her attention. My husband got the chicken bacon Alfredo and he enjoyed it, but the sauce was pretty watery. I got the 'steak frites' which is delicious. When I asked for the fries, the server tried telling me the fries were an upcharge...and again, on the menu, website, etc in caps even it says fries are a free sub. It's literally called steak frites. I'm curious how many are coming to a golf course clubhouse looking for 'happy healthy power entrees.' Do everyone a favor, make a new category, drop the quotation marks around the steak frites and off an actual steak section, because that was one of the best steaks I've had in the stateline. Tldr: Food rating based on taste was a 5, but why did we have to remind them of their OWN specials, and why did the server tell me the steak frites had an upcharge for fries when the menu says the sub to have fries (for steak frites was free). That knocked off 2 stars.

That said, the service was the biggest issue. The wait staff seemed uncomfortable and not fully confident, which made the experience feel a bit awkward. On top of that, the kitchen times were very long, especially considering it didn't feel overly busy. The cocktails were a mixed bag. I ordered the house Old Fashioned, and it came off more like a Wisconsin-style version with a splash of something like Sprite. It wasn't bad, just unexpected, and the flavor was a bit unusual. As for the entertainment side, I came for bowling, but the games felt a little off--almost like they weren't calibrated right--which took away from the fun. For the price, the value didn't quite match the experience. I spent around 2 bills and overall it felt pretty mediocre for what we got. That said, it's a local spot, and I want to see it succeed. I'd come back for bowling and give it another shot, hoping they work out the kinks.
