We enjoyed it so much that we ordered extra food to take home. The wings were great, the potato wedges were crispy and seasoned perfectly, and the salad was fresh and loaded up. Very disappointing experience. I got there a little after 1:00 AM and was told by the guy at the door that they weren't letting anyone else in after 1. That would have been completely understandable -- except he let one person in right in front of me, then let two more people in behind me. When I asked why, he told me they got in because they "asked nicely." I had simply walked up and tried to enter like anyone else. I wasn't rude, aggressive, or disrespectful at any point, so the way I was treated made absolutely no sense. I've included a photo of the employee I dealt with so there's no confusion about who I'm referring to. I'm only in the area for work, and I actually came here because a bartender at another establishment recommended Fozzy's. I was looking forward to checking the place out, so this was especially disappointing. If there's a 1:00 AM cutoff, that's fine -- but it should be applied consistently. Telling me nobody else is being admitted, while allowing one person in directly ahead of me and two more directly behind me, is extremely unprofessional. First time every stopping. The parking lot is super full but the place wasn't very busy. We sat in a dining area away from the bar (but really it's all just one place) We both ordered basic cocktails and I opted for the taco salad. He chose the smash burger. The taco salad was good. It came in a taco shell & I added jalapeños. The smash burger was really good though! Tasty, juice and full of flavor. Popped in for a quick dinner with friends. They weren't really busy so the service was quick. We had wings with garlic parmesan sauce, a smash burger, garlic parmesan Boneless wings and a side of fries. The wings were the best wings I've had in the area. They were perfectly fried and the sauces were so full of flavor. The smash burger was pretty big and it was also pretty flavorful. The drinks were strong, especially the Mermaid Margarita. I was pretty surprised at how good the food was because I had written this place off as "just a bar". I'm glad I gave them a shot. read more

I had an awesome time at this sports bar. The atmosphere was energetic without being overwhelming, and there were plenty of TVs so I never missed a moment of the game. The staff were friendly & attentive. The food exceeded expectations- hand breaded wings, great burgers, and fabulous appetizers. I came on a Sunday for lunch. This non football fan forgot it was NFL Sunday. That being said it was super LOuD in there with all of the games on. However, the loudness was mostly the TV and not so much the patrons so all good for me. I had a beef sandwhich with chips which were good. Extensive beer list. Fun cocktails. Our server was very attentive and it was super crowded. Floor was sticky. Parking lot is very cramped. Being new to the area and a long-time Yelper from all over California, I was skeptical coming in here, if I'm being honest. There are so many points to hit on for this place, that I'm going with a PRO/CON list: PRO: -Asian Bowl was absolutely amazing (I'd consider a name change though, as it's not quite Asian.) -Singo is fun! (Wednesday night, 7pm) -Clean bathrooms -Tech forward (pay at table, like Canada) -Attentive serve staff CONS (mostly out of the control of the business): -Zero diversity with regards to race/ethnicity (this could be systemic or just the area, dunno) -NO microbrews. And, worse, our server looked confused when I asked about microbrews. (This may be a Rockford downfall/missed opportunity for small businesses, but I digress, maybe I need to open a brewery.) NEUTRAL: -Parking was fine, but seems like it could be a nightmare on super busy nights (had we not carpooled last night, my feelings may be different--towards the CON list). -Only house wine, and it's not good (that said, I'm from NorCal/Napa/Lodi regions and can spot a great/good/average/poor wine. This was better than boxed wine, or most house wines at chains like Olive Garden/Buca do Beppo--puke, don't drink those.) All-in-all, I'll be back. I went there for the second time ever to watch the dj play and was not only embarrassed, humiliated and disrespected by the management and security but also disappointed! Halloween party turned into worse going out experience ever in Rockford IL. I do not recommended at all unless you want to be lied to, humiliated and embarrassed and told you are the issue, not the lying security and refused to show their video recordings of the whole event by management, per management they have a lot of miscommunication issues with security but yet you are the problem not security! Short, sweet, and HONEST review of Fozzy's. Went on a Taco Tuesday night. Bartenders were pleasant and great at their jobs. The glowing bar is unique but gets annoying after about 10 minuets. Ordered a steak burrito and the mac n cheese. Burrito was decent and worth another order. Mac n cheese was bland but ok. My biggest issue, and why it's a 2 star review, is the prices. Way over priced drinks! 2 Tito's and soda (tall) cost me $11.50 with a $1.50 tall charge! Some may say that is an acceptable charge in todays climate. All I can say is I was not wowed by anything that would tell me to spend more here than at any of my other regular stops. As always, visit Fozzy's and make your own opinions. We have driven past this place at least a hundred times and never stopped. Now, we know we made the right decision. We came in for some drinks on a weeknight. It took the bartenders quite a while to wait on us. Then, we sat and watched the female bartender (long straight dark hair) on her phone texting for more time then she spent making drinks. We waited patiently for her to finish her texting before she made our drinks. She looked and acted like we were bothering her for simply asking her to do her job. Came for my friend Sherri's 60th Birthday party and Nick wanted me to wait in line with a bunch of maybe 21yr olds after Sherri just told me to tell them at the door that I was part of her birthday party. Trop Club has great prices on food and drinks which are way better than Fozzy's. They also play awesome music and has way better owners! Bottom line is, if you book a party or private event at Fozzy's, be prepared for your guests to wait in line with a bunch of underage people in order to get in. read more

Bouncers we're rude, whoever answered the phone was rude, idk why somewhere in Rockford or even Loves Park, thinks they can act that way to a paying customer.
