The menu is kind of limited beyond the basic stuff. Crowded place when there's a big game. It's the story at basically any sports bar obviously. The other times it's not as bad even on weekends. It helps there's a ton of other bars around here. There's plenty of places a drink can go when in town. It's about $5 to get a well liquor. There's also a list of fancier cocktails if wanting a better one. It's about $9 for appetizers. The one we got was the Pretzel Sticks. Pretty simple item. There's also the usual fried things. Has good things about it. It's one of the many bars in town. The kitchen closes a couple hours earlier than the bar so get here early enough to place your orders for a game or for whenever.

It was dark, dank and honestly it looked like it could use a good cleaning, but I'm afraid if someone did try to clean in there, it would just make things fall apart. The building, furnishings and equipment are all in need of repair or maintenance. The padded arm rest along the edge of the granite looking laminate bar is cracked, peeling and torn leaving holes that expose the stuffing. It was uncomfortable resting against it because the edges of the vinyl were dry and would poke into the skin on my arm. The service was kind of off. There was only one bartender when I was in. It was decently busy and I think she handled all of the tables too. I really wasn't paying attention so I'm not sure, but she would disappear for a while leaving me beerless. Even at the end when we said we were ready to go, she was slow getting the check to us and then collecting the payment. Their special was tacos. The price was good, and they tasted fine. I don't think they were as great as some of the other people in the bar raved over them, but I've definitely had worse in a bar setting. I wouldn't go out of my way for them.

Here's the kicker...great food and very friendly staff. Order anything, it is awesome. Friends of mine swear by the fish fry. Homemade egg rolls once a week too. It hasn't changed much in the 30 years I've been there...but why bother changing a good thing?

My friend and I where the only two in there other than the bartender and a woman I believe was the owner cooking something in a big pot on a hot plate at one of the tables. I'm pretty sure this is a "locals only" type of establishment and they don't get too many outsiders in there based on the reception we received. The service was good; the bartender kept out mugs filled and the both of us happy. The prices were pretty good too. I'm not sure if it was a special, but we were only charged $1.50 for a 12 oz. domestic draft. I don't know if they serve food or not. We weren't offered menus, and I didn't see anything that indicated they did serve food, but the one woman was cooking something, so I could be wrong. We didn't get to spend a lot of time here as we had to get back home, but there really wasn't anything that made me want to stay even if I could have. It's truly a block away and that food was so so. The lady working the bar was awesome tge crowd at the bar were great. I personally would not go back. There are too many other places to try.
