Always stop by here when we are in monster they have some of the best hamburgers I've ever had and I don't really like hamburgers. This time I tried the German beer and the fried green tomatoes - awesome!

Great revamp! Burgers, pizzas, wings and ICE COLD BEER! Homemade desserts, great atmosphere, great staff! Really make you feel like you belong.

Docs offers more than I expected for a "bar and Grill." It's really more of a German deli style restaurant- and a good one at that. I had a Reuben sandwich At the recommendation of our waitress. She said it was one of the best Reubens she ever had. I agree. Best Reuben I have had outside of NYC. Homemade sauerkraut on their pumpernickel caraway rye with a generous serving of pastrami with their house made mustard made this a delicious meal. Huge wedge of carrot cake was easily a serving for two. Their cakes are made by a former employee at her home. They are stellar. Carrot cake was loaded with carrots, Raisins and walnuts and topped with a super rich cream cheese icing. Don't leave Docs without a piece of cake.

Such a cool place in tiny Muenster. I always get the Reuben sandwich, but the other food looks equally good. The service is friendly but pack your patience as they can get overwhelmed.

My husband was hunting for a phone number to a company in Muenster and happened to find this jewel. We planned a trip to try it out on Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 3. They were not swamped but they were active. As soon as you enter there is a quaint little bar and maybe 10 or so tables. Our waitress immediately got our drink order and gave us some menus. We explained how we found this place and that we were looking forward to trying it. So first up we ordered a sample appetizer with fried green tomatoes, chips and salsa, Texas toothpicks (onion and jalapeños), and fried mushrooms. It was delivered with ranch, jalapeño ranch, chipotle ranch and marinara. The jalapeño ranch( all of which are made in house) was the star! I asked our waitress which was better between the Philly and the Rueben. She doesn't like kraut so she said the Philly. I went with the rueben because I do like kraut (also made in house). It was outstanding. The rye bread was the freshest and softest rye I have ever had any where. It was the best rueben I have ever had. I will try the Philly next time. I chose pickled beets as my side. They were on point. Like grandma used to can. I also tried the tomatoe jalapeño soup and was not a fan. It was just not for me. The guys both had chicken fried steak. One had pickled beats with German potatoes and the other had corn with German potatoes. Hubs gave me a bite of the potatoes and they were tasty. I also decided to try both of the desserts for the day. Coconut cream cobbler and strawberry cake. Both homemade. A lot of place claim the dressers is homemade but really it is out of a box and a let down. This coconut cream pie was straight homemade. Light fluffy crust with a delicious cream and just the right toast on the coconut. The strawberry cake was so moist and the icing was like a sour cream icing. It was outstanding! After we left I was telling my mom about this little jewel and she laughed and told me that is where my stepdad was born!! Crazy. Apparently this place, built in the 1920's was Muenster's first hospital!!!

My wife and I come here every other Thursday (80 minute round trip) and have been here 15+…read moretimes...without a doubt, I can say this is easily one of my top 3 burger places in America. First of all, and most importantly, the burgers are fantastic. Flat top grilled burgers are seasoned to perfection. (There's no bigger disappointment than a bland flavorless burger; luckily you don't have to worry about that here) You must order the jalapeño sourdough bun. It is incredible. Slight kick from the jalapeño offsets the slight sweetness from the bun and is the perfect complement to the meat. (My wife doesn't like spicy foods but she loves the jalapeño bun, it's not too spicy for those that prefer mild foods) If you do like a spicier burger (but not so hot that you can't taste anything after the first bite), I get a double pepper jack cheese burger on the jalapeño bun with the cream cheese jalapeño dressing...it's amazing. Their fries are the only disappointing aspect of the meal..in my opinion... They are shoestring fries and while they are cooked perfectly, I think they would be better if they were hand cut fries or at least have a house made seasoning on the fries. The service is wonderful. You're always greeted when you walk in. All the ladies that work the floor are great at their jobs. Walter (the owner) is an awesome guy. The decor of the restaurant is cool. It's in an old 1800's saloon with the creaky floors. Mismatched chairs and tables just add to the ambiance. They have live music on Friday nights. Note - they are only open on Thurs, Fri & Sat. Cash only! (Follow their Facebook page for updates - they post regularly) Please give this place a try. I'm quite sure you won't regret it.

This was a great little hole in the wall! The place to be if you live in town!! The hamburger was…read moretasty but the fries were overcooked and crunchy. Live music was a terrific perk on the Saturday evening we visited. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you so the service was good for what it was as an order at the counter kinda place.

I don't know what I was thinking going back to Heyday a second time. The first visit was bad…read moreenough, but apparently they took that as a challenge and said, "Hold my lukewarm beer." The hamburgers? Frozen meat patties that tasted like they'd been excavated from the back of a 2019 freezer. My fish and chips came with fish that smelled like it had been on a week-long bender in a dumpster behind the pier. And the lobster ravioli? Let's just say the only thing "lobster" about it was the price tag. The pasta was sad, the filling was suspicious, and the whole thing felt like a culinary war crime. But hey, at least the ambience is great! Beautiful lighting, nice decor, perfect for pretending you're having a fancy night out... while quietly plotting your escape to literally any other restaurant. Oh, and don't worry about the shortcuts -- when they're done disappointing your taste buds, they'll hit you with a credit card fee for the privilege. Nothing says "we care about your experience" like charging you extra to leave poorer and hungrier than when you arrived. Save your money, your dignity, and your stomach. Go somewhere else to eat. Anywhere else. Even a gas station hot dog would've been an upgrade.
