OMG. Soup is home made. Absolutely delicious. Had the She crab soup. The best She Crab soup on the East coast of USA hands down.

Went here while in the area with family who suggested it. Got there early to get a seat near the stage. Larger inside than it looks on the outside. The servers were attentive but there were out of some things early on (no soup, no steak or chicken quesadillas) but the appetizers we ordered were hot and fresh and didn't take that long to come out. We enjoyed the karaoke experience but sadly we didn't know the DJ's name as he never introduced himself to the crowd or explained how it worked to put in a song (he has little slips of paper on a small table and you give him your slip with your name, artist and song title when you are ready to sing). Since he wasn't very engaging not sure if we would go back in the future. read more

This bar does karaoke from 8pm-2am every single day! It's owned by the nicest Icelandic woman i've ever met, she's a genuine kind person. She makes homemade soup DAILY with her own homemade broth! I had a cup of the sausage, kale and potato soup it was an absolute dream. So much real flavor you can taste the labor of love. 10/10 would definitely come back again! read more

Worst karaoke I have ever experienced. All you can smell is cigarette smoke as people actively smoked with the no smoking sign. The DJ is rude and never called us to sing as we were there almost 2 hours. We felt so unwelcomed. Didn't know they had food... can't smell it through the SMOKE. Highly un-recommend. read more

Docker's is a home away from home. The staff, is beyond amazing. They look out for everyone and work really hard to make sure everyone has a great night. Mrs. Tina, and Mrs. Heidi are there on Fridays and they go above and beyond every time. The weekend DJ for Karaoke Tony is absolutely stupendous. He is approachable, snd if you just speak with him moving your song up or back in line is something he readily does. If he realizes your song isn't available then he calls you up to pick again without removing your place in line. Now onto the food, the kitchen staff is wonderful, every meal i've eaten here ha surpassed my expectations for a small bar/pub located outside of the main downtown nightlife area. If Mama Inga(owner) is there and you can get the soup of the day, it's always been delicious and heart warming. She makes an amazing She crab soup. Finally Mama Inga has owned and managed a lil slice of home away from home for years. Docker's is a place where everyone is welcome and we're all one big docker's family. If you're looking for an ambient, sometimes quiet other times lively karaoke bar with pool tables you honestly could not do better than Dockers. I was hesitant to leave a review, because that would mean I would have to share this treasure with the world. They may never know the haven they provided for me, when I was seeking refuge from the world. But, they did. Everyone was welcoming to me; employees, even the strangers at the bar and tables, so many strangers walked up to me to say hello and welcome me. I've heard so many interesting stories of peoples lives. I heard deep thoughts from people I'd never met. I was able to be dumb and goofy with people I'd never known, in a bar I'd never been to before. My glass was never empty, and I never felt lonely in there, even though I never knew anyone before I walked in. I've been to many bars; I've been to many Karaoke places. Not many give a vibe that is so comforting and welcoming. This is one of those places you will feel welcome. This is one of those places that has the vibe you want to come back to. Yes it's Smokey. But that's how bars are. It's like "Cheers" where everybody knows your name. And you can sing, and it's okay if you don't sing perfect. And you can say hello to strangers and then they're not strangers anymore. You'll see mixed reviews. But take a chance; step inside; have a drink; say hello to a stranger. I'm sure you won't regret seeing with your own eyes and experience it for yourself. Make up your own mind. Be yourself in the space. It's no miracle or shiny new object, nothing outstandingly special of how it looks or is built. It is that bar hidden in the corner. They may never know the haven they provided for me, when I was seeking refuge from the world. But I am very thankful for them. Disorganized and lacking someone knowledgeable with working the soundboard and properly adjusting levels. Unable to hear yourself in the monitor (either not turned on, or very low). No rotation, people are just called in the order they put songs in, so if someone sings and quickly submits a new song, they end up getting called to sing for a second time, before other people have even sang their first song. Not sure if this was someone's first night, but it was pretty rough if who we saw was a regular KJ. Didn't try the food, but the drinks were reasonable. read more

Karaoke 7 days a week is not bad. Food is okay. Drinks are hit or miss depending on the day who the bartender on duty is.

This place is trash; The bartenders refuse water based on whether they put some in a pitcher or not.... It sounds like this bar should just give up and shut down. The staff is rude af and gossips with clients about other people in the bar. From what I saw, I'd rather not try the food . This place could legit ruin your night, there are other bars close by, no need to worry. read more

We were on our vacation in Virginia Beach and being a hardcore Karaoke aficionado my friend was desiring a venue where he could get his Karaoke on. Unfortunately, we found there were limited options around the beach front area, so after finding out about this place, we decided to give it a try and ventured inland. Hate to say upon first glance we were leery as from the outside it had a local dive bar vibe and, as obvious tourists, we did not know how the patrons would react to us. However, after our night was done, I honestly have to say that the staff here were among the nicest, kindest, and most welcoming that I have ever come across of any business venue that I can recall. From the moment we entered, we were treated like we were family. Our waitress was so nice, outgoing and down-to-earth. She had such a laid back pleasant way about her that put all of us at ease. Oh and the Karaoke was great! Coming from a Karaoke layman I'll say it was a spirited crowd and everyone was so encouraging, even when I went up there, being referred to as a 'Cherryoake' in tongue-in-cheek manner by the DJ, and proved to everyone who the all-time worst Karaoker was, with the worst voice to boot! Oh and Inga was also very kind to us and even gave us all a sampling of her homemade soup to go, which was delicious. Only regret I have, I'll say we as I am certain my friends share similar sentiments, is for judging a book by it's cover. Yes, this place is well off the beaten path, nowhere near the main tourist drag, and as a result, seemed intimidating to us uninformed tourists not having a clue. The wait staff is nice friendly. however, it's is a smoke filled bar:( ventilation system is in efficient and they're non-smoking section is like a fishbowl with two little tables, and one chair why there's a high chair. I don't know who brings babies there! Lol kind of feel segregated from the rest of the bar. Went here for the first time with a friend because they have karaoke all the time. Not a lot of the bars around here do. We don't go to a lot of straight bars because it's usually not our scene but we decided to go here. First thing I noticed right when we come in is the stench of cigarettes. Everyone is smoking which is incredibly annoying. INCLUDING THE BARTENDERS. The lady giving us our drinks was smoking while she was doing so. It's just gross and unsanitary. Which is why we didn't order food and we left after about an hour. Asked for a Guinness and they didn't even have that. Most bars will have them by the bottle, but nope. No drink menu either for my friend that doesn't really drink and didn't know what she wanted. The vibe seemed very "regulars only" type with random people going behind the bar constantly when they weren't working. All in all, I wouldn't go here again. I can't even bring some people here because I have friends with lung problems. read more

I was visiting from Ohio and found Dockers. I enjoy Karaoke so I gave it a shot. The place was easy to find and located in a good area. Well lit parking area right by the door. It was a slow night only about 10 people inside. I met the owner a very nice woman who made me feel welcome. I was hungry so she suggested her freshly made potato and sausage soup. It was absolutely amazing ! The portion was very generous and not expensive. All the people were friendly. Some sang. The only negative for me was the bar allows smoking and I get very bad headaches from smoke. If you're a smoker you will love this place. I came a second night and it was more busy. Overall it was a good experience. read more

Best Karaoke place in town. Been coming here for years, and it keeps getting better. Not as fancy as some of the other places, but it makes up for it with the great Staff and friendly crowd. The KJ is fair and keeps the show going. Food and beer prices are reasonable. Wings are very good! I recommend this place. read more

Fun place to go hang out! Karaoke every night. Everyone is so friendly and fun. The food is tasty and drinks are reasonable. My favorite night is Thursday. the Karaoke DJ is awesome and encourages everyone to sing and the regulars couldn't be friendlier. Good place if your going out alone. What a great time! A nice mix of younger and middle aged crowd and everyone gets along. No one acts like an idiot. The karaoke stage is fantastic, the DJ was great and the staff was attentive. The only downside is it has a tiny non smoking room that no one uses. It was obviously built to skirt the non smoking law, like so many other places. The place is a smoking bar. But we had a good time anyway. I'd recommend it if you like karaoke. read more

This place has pretty good food, pretty good service, and a pretty good staff. However, if you're looking to sing karaoke, then good luck because if you're not a regular of the pub, they pretty much just skip over your turn and don't allow you to sing unless you annoy the hell outta them. It's super unfair because the regulars who just show up will sing 7 songs in a row. Meanwhile, I've gotten here early, put in 4 song requests, and have only sung once. I went to this place on a Friday night there's a lot of people for 11pm I thought cool, happening place tonight. Now I have been here before other times. First time I was invited nice enough place close to home. But tonight there's a different karaoke dj Clyde or Clive, I thought ok I never seen a KJ drunk before, thought it odd. Sure enough several customers sang. Wow great crowd then the drunk karaoke dj started singing. Ok I thought unprofessional but if the owners allow it who am I to complain. Put in a song for me. Waited a while then I was called sang my song. Great I was having fun, waited a little bit put another song did not want to hog the mic. Had couple more beers while waiting. Waiting some more ordered wings and some more beers while waiting. Ask Clive if he has my song he said yes. Waited some more ordered fries and more beer still nothing. Meanwhile Clive called several different people and I noticed. Some of them sang 3 or 4 times. While I"m still waiting, so I said something to the bartender. Still I waited, while Clive the KJ sang another song. I guess I needed to be a regular and the right color for this karaoke bar. Now the bartenders and wait staff were excellent unfortunately for them this establishment is not interested with new customer. Now in fairness the owner's son did apologized for the racist KJ but too late the damage was done. They should post " whites only" on the entrance door so they don't have to go out of your way to turn people away. read more

Been there a few times with my fiance; it does have good karaoke capability and is a nice pretty spacious place to sing, but the waitresses do not dress properly and try to go out of their way to be sleezy in front of customers that come in there to have a nice time; that ruins it for me and I am sure other females; it is disgusting and makes me lose my appetite for anything to eat or drink. If they dressed properly, I would possibly return. Don't understand why females have to go out of their way to dress sleezy and show their anatomy !! Other places in Va Beach are more conservative and will go there for karaoke. Do not plan to return to Dockers for this reason. read more

this place has gone down hill very quickly. it used to be a fun bar with great service, but in the last few months it's deteriorated to a cesspool. last night a few of us went in to sing a couple of songs and enjoy a beer or two. i was served pretty quickly, but not even 10 minutes into being at the bar a rotund woman decided to take off her shirt at her table in the middle of the bar (pretty sure she was wasted) and after being told to put her shirt back on by the brunette server, the woman in question and another young lady slipped off to the women's restroom. my friend had to pee and as soon as she opened the door she ran back out and we told the blonde bartender (i think her name was ruthie) that the two were in the restroom having sex. she went in, told the ladies to leave and the one who had previously been topless came over to where we were seated near the pool tables and got in my face trying to start an altercation. after i politely said she should go back to her table with her friends she kept trying to instigate a fight and i took the high road and told the blonde bartender what was going on. in any normal and decent bar this behavior would have been absolutely unacceptable but "ruthie" hugged her and told her to go sit back down. i told her that the woman shouldn't even be served anymore, she was slurring her speech and obviously from her previous actions she should have been cut off before we even walked into the bar. this place is awful. the customer service is lacking, it's trashy, and honestly i think it should be shut down. the change machine for the pool table was unplugged to charge someone's phone, the DJ though polite was lacking in charisma, and while all of this nonsense was happening the owner sat on her ass and did absolutely nothing. such a disappointment. dockers is a sad shell of what it used to be. read more
