Came here around 1pm on a Saturday and waited in line for about 10 min before I ordered the matcha oreo donut. Texture-wise, I loved it! I'm a big fan of chewy carbs, and this hit the spot perfectly. Flavor-wise, the matcha flavor isn't very strong and I thought the donut was a tad bit too sweet for my liking. I was very excited to try Dochi, since I have such a sweet tooth. Honestly I was underwhelmed. It is not about the line (which can get quite long), it is really that I wasn't impressed by the product itself. Tastes ok, on the very sweet side, and it is kind of fun to eat it breaking off each small ball, but the flavors don't come through as well as I'd like, there is a lot of a sensation of each flavor diluted into a lot of sugar. Couldn't really taste what the Ube should be about, and the chocolate tasted very artificial to me. Did not get me craving for more, unfortunately. Maybe it is just not my thing, but maybe everyone should try once to see how they feel about it. They are very cute though. read more

My first time trying mochi donuts was actually on my recent trip to Japan, so I was excited when I found out about this place. They're located right in the Uwajimaya food court, so the location is easy to get to, and they'll validate your parking, which is super convenient. There was a long line, of course, and we ended up getting all 6 flavors that were available that day. The box that the donuts came in was super cute. They definitely cater to the Instagram foodie crowd, which I appreciated, haha. As for the taste of the donuts, I really enjoyed them. The shape made it easy to share, and I enjoyed all the flavors. The texture of the donuts is slightly chewy and lighter than your average donut. The flavors we got were ube glazed, chocolate almonds, strawberry pebbles, matcha oreos, choco peanut butter, and ube bae. My least favorite was ube glazed, since it was plain, but honestly, I thought they were all delicious. Surprisingly, the pebbles one tasted really nice. I was skeptical since I mean, c'mon, it's cereal. But it was good. Would I come again? I would, but I wouldn't want to wait in a long line to get these donuts. So if there's no line, I'd easily pop by and get some donuts. Also, they need better hours. In comparison to the mochi donuts I had in Japan though, the donuts here aren't as light and airy, and not "mochi" enough. Good donuts? Yes! But they maybe need more mochi in them to make them chewier like mochi. read more

I'd give it a 3.5... 3 dollars for a small donut, 6 for 16. Line is pretty long and they only had 4 flavors being offered - chocolate almond, PBnJ, fruity pebble taro, and Ube glazed. We had taro fruity pebble and ube glazed. Taro was really sweet like a normal donut with sprinkles. Ube glazed was lightly glazed with a purple dough inside. I highly recommend Ube glazed if you're going - not overly sweet and as is with their mochi donuts, the texture is slightly bouncier than a yeast donut. Give it a try but don't expect it to blow you away too much. read more

Yum! Loved all the flavors! Will definitely visit Dochi again. I wish they had one in Renton area, possibly the Uwajimaya in Renton ?! And for those who say it gets soggy... duh there's mochi in it. I've been dying to try Dochi and finally got to visit! They are not quite as I expected they would be but I really enjoyed them! The consistency is kinda of chewy like mochi, the outside is crispy like a donut. I was with a group so we got a bunch of different flavors and split them so we could try them all. I was excited to try mochi donuts for the first time; however, I was extremely underwhelmed. While the donut itself was chewy as promised, they were clearly made hours before and were served to us cold and pre-packaged. We got a matcha donut with Oreo and a taro donut with Fruity Pebbles; neither tasted fresh. Came here on July 27th, 2021. The store is super cute and it's in a little food hall place. Had a lot of flavors when I came. The mochi donuts were deliciously good as well. But the 5 star experience came from Helyn(Helen.... I don't know how to spell her name). I'm from San Diego and didn't know what else to do here in Seattle. But with her help she recommended me other places to go visit and eat at. Her customer service skills were immaculate and just on her I would go back here. I drove past and noticed no line, so I stopped and bought a box of 6. The staff outside and at the counter were attentive and friendly, the stars are for them. I love mochi and doughnuts, very particular about both. The glazed ube was the least sweet, but none had the crispy chew that I had hoped for in a mochi doughnut. All the glazes were overly sweet and the dough was not crisp, almost oily. In addition to rice flour, the ingredients include wheat flour resulting in a more traditional doughnut texture without the yeasty stretch of my favorite local cinnamon twist. The presentation and storefront are attractive, but, as others have noted, $3 is pricey. read more

After having tried Mochinut (a mochi donut spot in South Lake Union), Dochi isn't as fresh and flavorful. I've heard about all the hype and long lines for some time now so when I finally tried one of their mochi donuts, it failed to really impress me in any way. LOVE this chewy donut easy to share by breaking off pieces! ube is my favorite followed by matcha and hazelnut flavors. They are fun to look at and such a nice gourmet treat to have on weekends. Not as heavy and oily as other donuts and not as sweet as cakes and other desserts which makes this a nice light treat. It is much better than Mochinut and other brands I had! it's a little inconvenient to find parking and having to go into the market to line for Dochi but I will gladly go there for the goodies. When i saw dochi donuts on Instagram, I had to get some. We went half an hour before opening to line up and I got all the flavors available that day. I was so excited to try them because they looked so amazing. When I tasted the donuts, we were super disappointed. They were obviously not fresh. We all tasted old oil (Asians might know what I'm talking about), oil that's used to fry something over and over again and becomes dark and dirty. I later found out that Dochi doesn't make their donuts in Seattle, they ship them from an out of state location. So not only do they possibly use dirty oil to fry their donuts, it's not made fresh either. Still, I have to give them two stars because they do look beautiful. And if you never had a mochi donut before, you'll probably like them. This place does get the texture right. For a fresh mochi donuts that's made in house, I'll have to stick to going to the bakery inside Federal Way Hmart. read more

omg, these are SO GOOD and SO beautiful!!! :) the texture is amazing...softish on the outside, chewy on the inside like a mochi. i tried three different flavors: the taro fruity pebble, strawberry, and pumpkin spice. the taro fruity pebble was by far my favorite! i'm not WOW'd easily by food or dessert, but i was WOW'd by this one. the big reason why was wow'd by me was because of the unique flavor combination. i have never tasted anything like this mix before...blend of taro with crunchy fruity pebble cereal pieces that taste like a donut but have the texture of a mochi. the strawberry flavor was also pretty good and a close runner up. tasted similar to a strawberry pocky stick, so the flavor wasn't all that unique or never before experienced taste. pumpkin spice was average. not bad, not particularly good. just average. i had some leftover, so i heated it up in the microwave the next morning, and it was super good heated up too :) read more

I've been here twice now and it's been delicious every time! The dough is just chewy enough to give itself a distinct texture and the pon de ring shape is perfect for sharing (and super cute). I think the best thing about using a mochi dough mix is that it doesn't flake and break apart as easily as regular donuts do, so it's not as messy to eat. I've tried most of the flavors available so far and they've all tasted great; none of them are overly sweet, which is a big plus for me. It's a bit on the pricey side and the line can get a bit long, but definitely check this place out at least once if you have the time! read more
