Açaí and strawberry ice cream with Dulce de lech Churros
    Logan L.

Service was great! Young girl was handling a busy front of the house by herself and getting things done. Food came out quickly and did not disappoint. Definitely coming back each week I'm in Richmond. Highly recommend.

An eatery specializing in churros? Yes, please! And Pao de queijo? I might be in heaven. If you've never tried Pao de queijo, it is Brazilian cheese bread, small round puffs of deliciousness. Slightly crispy on the ouside and springy inside. They are gluten-free, usually made with tapioca or casava flour, and can be addictive! Doce Churros is a small shop with just 2 tables inside. It's very bright and clean. Extremely friendly and polite staff. Their menu includes a variety of filled churros, funnel cakes, ice cream, milkshakes, donuts, coffee, Pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread), and the Coxinhas ( chicken croquettes) Churros 2 sizes mini and 7" flavors: Dulce de Leche Strawberry Peanut butter Nutella Chocolate Bavarian cream Plain(no filling) You can get them plain or sprinkled with sugar or cinnamon sugar We tried each flavor of churros, Pao de queijo, and Coxinhas. All excellent! Shop is located in a strip mall near Regency Square Mall. Plenty of parking My rating rationale +1 Service +1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

What a find! I heard about this place by chance when a Facebook group I belong to mentioned it. They were mentioning the coxinhas (Brazilian chicken croquettes) and that they were now available every day. I've been interested in trying these for awhile so I was excited to hear that they were available near my home. They also have Pao de Queijos (Brazilian cheese bread) which I've had a few times in the past. If you haven't tried them yet be prepared to be addicted. Now their main products are churros and they are awesome. There's plain and a bunch of different filled churros available too. I've tried them all and I can't say which is the best. I love them all! There's coffee, ice cream, donuts and funnel cakes too, check out the menu in my photos. The staff is super friendly and professional. They'll answer any questions you may have with a smile. There's also plenty of parking in this strip mall area.

An easy five stars. This place is awesome. We stopped in quickly on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty busy. The place is really clean, pretty small (not an easy place to dine in), and has lots of great descriptions of the menu. The staff were super kind and the lady who helped us even pulled out a clear allergy menu to accommodate my partner's dietary restrictions (their regular churros are VEGAN!! Yay!!) The churros...sooooo good. We got the regular, Nutella filled, and their Bavarian cream filled. All were better than the last, and all were made completely fresh when we ordered them. I will be back probably this weekend to try their savory options!

I ordered some mini churros to go, along with their chicken croquettes, and I'm so glad I did. I got to try all of the filling flavors and the churros came out warm, chewy, and very delicious. The Nutella and peanut butter fillings were my favorites, especially the peanut butter, which added a nice savory contrast to the sweet churro. The croquettes were really flavorful and had a good balance of crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. What I loved about this place is the mix of sweet and savory options. Making it a great spot for a sweet treat or a quick snack. The shop's in a strip mall with a decent amount of parking. I went in the evening so it may be busier during the day. The inside appeared to be mostly set up for takeout but there was a small two-top table, if you wanted to eat in or wait for your food. Pricing felt more than fair and the amount of options available were immense. The staff was super friendly, too, and let me know I could call in my order to get access to the full menu instead of ordering online which only offers limited items.

Large Churro (Plain) & Mini Churros (Dulce de Leche, Plain, Strawberry)

Docê Churros Ratings: 4.1/5 Food: 4.25/5 - People often think of Costco or Sam's Club as their go-to spot for some churro cravings, but don't sleep on this local business, because they serve some delicious churros. Please read the descriptions below or follow (noraeatsgood) for more fun content. - Large Churro [GET]: Churros are fried perfectly, crispy with crunchy ridges through the entire churro. It is evenly coated with a generous amount of cinnamon sugar. You can hear the crispiness each time when you take a bite, it's crunchy on the outside, yet fluffy and doughy on the inside. The texture is less doughy; it's on the lighter side. - Mini Churro w/ Dulce de Leche [GET]: I love this one, that dulce de leche sauce was everything that I am looking for in a churro. It was so creamy, smooth, and warm. I love that it's not too sweet, but you can taste the richness of the leche. It was magnificent, and a MUST try. - Mini Churro w/ Strawberry [SKIP]: I am usually not a fan of strawberry filled stuff, but still decided to try it. It wasn't my favorite, because strawberry jam was a bit too sweet and there's a slight artificial taste to it. Do not let this let you down, definitely try the other ones! Ambiance: 4/5 - This shop is located in a small shopping center, definitely unassuming. Interior is crazily clean and spacious. There a couple of chairs and tables for dine-in, and you can see the display containers full of churros and ice cream buckets. Great pit stop if you are craving for some sweets. Price: 4.25/5 - The prices here are great. If I remembered correctly, the large churros are $1.79 each and the mini ones are $0.79 each, but these are DoorDash prices, so it should be cheaper if you buy in store. Service: 4/5 - The lady behind the counter was so kind and helpful. She was down-to-earth and very approachable. She even gave me a small mini churro for free, so really appreciated that. The packaging was neat and nicely packed. BLUF: A local mom-and-pop owned churro shop serving delicious churros, but also funnel cakes, milkshakes, and ice cream. I highly recommend the churro with dulce de leche. For all vegans out there, their plain churros are perfect for you. I will return to try the Nutella and peanut butter filled churros.

I was a little moody earlier, but my husband fixed me. He fixed me with churros. I'm not kidding. It was a great idea! This place is near Regency Square Mall. Doce Churros. It's adorable. Delicious filled churros and dipping sauces, all sorts of flavors, and ice cream! I love finding hidden gems like this. Look how happy the churros made me. Two large churros makes for a great snack. We got Bavarian cream and dulce de Leche churros with additional dipping sauces. The prices were all extremely reasonable. Crispy on the outside, perfect bite on the inside. If you yourself are feeling a little grumpy or sad, let me say, this worked for me.

delicious! I could deffinetly see some of these flavors, being the perfect pairing to a cup of coffee. Mini Filled Churros

Fresh churros, friendly staff, and great prices! Need I say more? They have full sized ones and have sided ones. They can be stuffed with either peanut butter, strawberry, apple, Bavarian cream, or Nutella. I ordered one of each. Original and Bavarian cream were my favorite but I would see how Nutella would be great with coffee. the other flavors would be nice in a Sunday. I've visited this little shop a few times already and the next time I go I'm definitely going to try the churro ice cream sandwich! If you haven't already, go check this spot out!

Friendly service from a knowledgeable staff, delicious (soft but crispy, tasty fillings) filled and regular churros, super cute store. Win, win, win!

Filled churros Nutella, Bavarian cream, Nutella

Child had a hankering for churros today after a recent trip to Disney. We ventured here and tried Nutella, Dulce de leche, original, and Bavarian cream. They were so delicious! My favorites were cream and Dulce de leche and kiddo loved Nutella of course. It was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, fresh and hot rolled in perfect combo of cinnamon sugar. We will definitely be back and recommend to others. I want to try the specialties next time :) the space is nice and clean. The service was friendly.

Calming spot to grab a treat, get some work done/journal, or catch up with friends in an aesthetic and modern cafe. Ordered the paradise tea with mango and avocado. I loved the textures and layers of flavors. The drink was filling and lasted me a while, not watery but refreshing. The mango tasted fresh and avocado creamy. I haven't tried the pastries at this location, but have at their other Richmond cafe. Great cakes and buns made fresh in-house. Easy to find parking at the lot outside. Service is pretty quick.

The ambiance was clean and orderly. Upon entering, you grab a serving tray lined with parchment and some tongs. The items are in a glass enclosed display that you have to open and place your selections on your tray for purchase. I settled on the pistachio cream filled pecan pastry, the almond twist, and strawberry shortcake. The beverage menu was extensive: matcha, flavored teas, cocoa, espresso/coffee, and more. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,

Free off street parking is plentiful. There is good signage. It's now a take out only establishment since Covid. Two table are available for outdoor seating. Most customers took their orders and walked away. I visited them on a Sunday afternoon just after St. John's let out. It's just one block away and the church Patrick Henry gave a speech. There were a lot of church goers enjoying the business. Proper has a menu in the window to guide customers on choices of savory, or sweet. I wanted one of each. The man at the window was great in providing recommendations. I ordered the steak and cheese as well as the Banoffee. The preparation is already done and the man with assistant moved quickly to complete my order. I enjoyed my treats at their outdoor table and also enjoyed conversation with locals. I started with the steak & cheese which was loaded with meat and cheese. DELICIOUS! Then onto the Banoffee which smelled heavenly of cocoa. Another home run! I love bananas and if you do too this will be enjoyable. So glad I found them open on my visit. There hours are very good, but I have missed them in the Summer before on vacation. Just go, no brainer.
