Doc and Eddy's has a great atmosphere, where you can hang out with people from all walks of life. Scottsdale snobs need not apply! You can show up in a jeans and t-shirt and fit right in. An evening can be spent watching UFC, playing pool and air hockey, chatting with the regulars, or chilling on the patio. There's a little something for everyone, and you can be yourself. The food is good and reasonably priced, and the same can be said of the drinks. You won't find your eyes bulging out of your head when you see the bill at the end of the night, so you can just relax and order "one more" without being totally stressed about how much it's costing you! Recently the bar and the bathrooms have been revamped, so Doc's is now seeming less like a dive bar, though the atmosphere still isn't high maintenance. You won't be pestered by gold-diggers or popped-collar douche bags trying to get into your pants... just way cool people looking to make friends. I highly recommend. read more

Good pool hall, great atmosphere, and the drinks are very cheap! One issue I had was the Jukebox is way too loud so on a date situation it's hard to converse with the other person which is why we picked pool in the first place. There are some arcade games and shuffle board so if you and some people are just trying to think of something to do this place is a good "All around, whatever is fun to do with alchohol" type of establishment. One gripe, and this is probably situation, the Bartender was pretty rude and condescending, and ignored me for the regulars he was conversing at the bar. I tried to remain as polite as possible, It doesn't reflect the whole staff for me in any way everyone else there was awesome and really nice. read more

This was a good bar, the drinks and selections weren't bad, I think I would up spending a total of $15 getting completely hammered here (boys did buy me some drinks too ; )) The staff is really nice, there is one bartender that is kind of a jerk to all of my guy friends, but little old me with my low cut shirt gets to avoid all that hassle of waiting on a drink. Also the jukebox is way too loud, we get it kids you're fresh out of college and you want to be retro and blast 80s rock that you weren't alive to listen to, but someone turn down the speakers in the house because it's impossible to talk. read more

Will never go back. The only bright star is the bouncer that kept a known troublemaker from attacking us. Apparently it's known to the staff that this particular individual (Ray) has harassed patrons before. Even to the point of being kicked out and told never to return, yet there he was, harassing us. Not a bad place, the people there are a good mix of recent graduates or older current students of ASU. It's got a more mature crowd than the Mill Avenue sort and I think it's the perfect mix that doesn't make the environment too obnoxious. The staff is friendly aside from one of the bartenders, goatee? He's kind of a jerk. Everyone else has a smile on and is super friendly. The prices are fantastic, If I can leave a place tipsy and not push over a $20.00 I feel like I've accomplished something. Definitely a nice spot. read more

Tonight was really disappointing, though, and honestly seemed like more of a management/staffing issue than a server issue. There appeared to be one server handling an enormous amount of the restaurant by herself. She was clearly stretched thin, while management didn't seem to be doing much to help pick up the slack. Service obviously suffered as a result. One smaller thing that really summed up the experience: we were the only table sitting in our area watching the horse races, and the manager came over and changed the TV away from racing without even asking us. For a sports bar where horse racing and betting is one of the things that makes the place a little different, that was especially strange. I'm not writing this because we dislike the place -- actually the opposite. We keep coming back because it has so much potential to be THE neighborhood spot for watching games, and we want it to be great. But better staffing, more hands-on management when the restaurant is short-staffed, and a little more attention to the guests who are there would make a huge difference.
