I even offered to cover the additional mileage cost, but he still refused and suggested that I go pick up the truck myself. I would not recommend this company for moving services. They do not have their own trucks and rely on third-party companies like U-Haul or Budget. If their reservation gets canceled, they are not willing to make alternative arrangements or pick up a truck from another location.

I rattled off a list of items that would be moved and estimated a number of boxes. My estimate of boxes was terrible. It was a one bedroom apartment and frankly, I haven't moved that many times so I was way off and that's totally on me. But somehow, all the furniture items I listed on the phone didn't make it to the work order so when the movers showed up on moving day, they were not prepared for the items to be moved. I want to state clearly that the two moving guys were amazing. I think the lead guy was named Manuel and he couldn't have been easier to deal with and he really wanted things to go well. Polite, efficient and everything I could ask for but they brought what was basically a Ford pick-up truck pulling a trailer based on what they thought they were hauling. But because they were amazing, they got more into the trailer than it originally looked like but not everything in the apartment. When we got to the new house, they were great at moving everything in. At that time, I got a call from the office wanting to settle the bill before everything was off the truck I guess. I was fearing a tense conversation but they were civil (and so was I) and we got it worked out. I was going to talk to them about another trip to get the remaining items but at the last minute decided the logistics of getting to the old apartment to meet the truck were too complicated for us and my son rented a U-Haul and picked up the remaining items the next day. So to sum up, I would use them again but: -I would want to see the work order in advance to make sure we were aligned on the items to be moved. In fact, I wish I would have written down what I had and emailed it to them. If you use them, ask to see the work order in advance. -Since I'm not a professional mover and have no idea how many boxes a move takes (we had the quoting conversation a couple of weeks before the move), I would hope that if I throw out a ridiculously low number (which I did) that they would question it based on their experience. My packers came on time and ready to go and finished in close to the quoted time. That's where the positiives end. I needed help due to physical limitations and I feel like I've been taken for a ride. Everything I owned had been haphazardly shoved into boxes with minimal padding (and in some cases, my own clothing used as padding). Things were sloppily labeled and it took me weeks to wort thru all of the boxes labeled vaguley (i.e. "Closet Stuff", "Kitchen") with no further indication of what was actually in most boxes. My laptop was shoved into a box without padding and pressed against the cardboard. It's now dented and wont turn on. Empty boxes from the pantry and essentially trash had been packed away, even though I requested no perishables or open items be packed. Items of note that were thrown into a box without care/packaging: - glass scale - my MacBook Pro (not functioning anymore) - culinary spray bottle (broke) - dirty pans from the stove (I requested these be left on the stove for future use) - matching shoes in DIFFERENT boxes - various office/computer electronics (jostling around, no padding) I still need to do a full audit of damages caused by careless packaging, but just the laptop and immediately noticeable damaged office equipment is thousands of dollars of damage. So the realtively affordable packing job costed me much more than anticipated in damages, time, and overall effort. If you hire these guys, you'll need to watch them like a hawk and I pray you're not disadvantaged in a way they think they can take advantage of.
