This salon is awful at managing time. Last time I was there for a gel mani and acrylic fill I was there for TWO AND A HALF HOURS! Not even a discount offered for my wastes time. Just went back to give another chance. All chairs were full. I asked if I should come back and at what time. Was told it would be only 10 minutes so I sat down to wait. At the 25 minutes waiting...I walked out. While waiting I overheard a call come in and the owner said "Yes I can do". She didn't write it down and said allowed "Did she say Aug 1?" They should be more considerate of people's time and their lack of good management. read more

Called over an hour in advance for an appointment around noon for 6 people. I made it clear we had a party of six coming from over an hour away as I know that's not easy to fit in. They assured me they would have space at that time. When we showed up at 12:06 every single chair was taken. When I tried to get a time frame, I would assume the owner is who answered to me with not a time but an aggressive answer that we were "late". I think it's safe to say the 6 min it took me to shuffle 4 children inside is not the culprit to their lack of time for a confirmed appointment around noon. Had a terrible time here, I spent almost 100 dollars here for a french tip , manicure and full set, was very disappointed with what we received, not even 4 hours later the polish from the French Tip and manicure was chipping off completely, full set inconsistent per each nail. I would give this establishment negative stars if possible. The supposed owner was incredibly rude, half way took off my acrylics and asked me to leave. I simply asked if I didn't like the color I chose once it was on a nail if we could change it. He told me no, I have to stick with whatever color I chose. I love DN Nails! Apen is my go to girl. I'd suggest making an appointment, as they book up fast. Also, just like any business, doctors appointment, etc, sometimes you have to wait. Some clients take longer than expected. Let's show some grace, as it's not easy pleasing everyone. If you're on a time crunch, let them know, instead of writing a nasty review. After dropping $35 I was at least expecting two basic things: 1/ the dead skin on my toes and feet to be sloughed off and 2/ a nice calf massage. Well I left with loads of dead skin and no massage. I needed my nails done for a wedding and I wanted to try acrylics for the first time since I'm a new business owner and I need to work on my appearance. A friend of mine recommended this place. I had a young lady as my technician, she barely spoke to me at all, I expressed that I was nervous (I'm weird, I get nervous at new things) and that I had never had acrylics done before. All I got from her were crickets. First and foremost, the tools she used were obviously used and dirty, the nail file still had dust on it from the last person who it was used on. I should have gotten up and walked out then but I was with my friend and I really needed my nails done. Fortunately, I am not showing any sign of infection. However, I will still be reporting this salon to the Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses (they do the reporting for the cosmetology board) because this is just an unsafe practice and can result in a costly doctor's visit. The woman, who barely spoke to me save to bark orders, was on her phone no less than three times during my appointment, twice talking, once texting. I would have said something to the owner, but he was sitting right next to her. She had me get up and go wash my hands in the sink before doing my acrylic which I've never had to do before, usually they bring a little bowl of warm water to the booth to soak and clean your hands. If you have had a manicure before you know that you cannot push back cuticles or trim hangnails without soaking your hands, which she didn't bother to do anyway. I am a dog groomer, I work with my hands, they are a bit calloused, and they are often in water, I NEED to have the cuticles and hangnails attended to for a complete, manicured look. Moreover, I was in a lot of pain for the next 3 days after getting my nails done here, which is a result of them filing too much off the top of my nail to place the acrylic. If I had needed to work the next few days I would have been absolutely miserable. If I hadn't spent the last couple months researching what to expect with an acrylic manicure I would have been completely turned off to the idea of ever getting another one. As it stands I am going to grow out this nail set for its health and try again elsewhere. They lost out on a recurring, professional client due to their atrocious customer service and hygiene. read more

I typically don't have polish on my nails (I work in the healthcare field and it's not recommended) but while I was out and about, I decided to pamper myself to a manicure. I walked in and they seated me immediately. My nail tech was very gentle and detailed. My gel manicure looks beautiful and they finish with a lotion, massage, and hot towel. I have never given a bad review. Ever. My experience today was so bad that I felt that I needed to document it here. To be fair I have gone to DN Salon several times and overall, the services provided have been pretty good. Today however was a horrible experience with bad service and shoddy work! I went in for a scheduled appointment for a pedicure and fill w/gel polish. The guy that did my pedicure was ok, he was new to the trade, and his work definitely reflected that. My fill was with the owner, and I have had my nails done by him before without issue. I had seen him be really rude to other customers but although he was gruff, I hadn't been too phased. I am very short, and my shoes were new without much grip. I was trying to position myself and I had some instability as the chairs have wheels and roll. I apparently kicked the guys shoes trying to stay stationary a couple of times and he became irritated and snapped at me to quit kicking his shoe. He also kicked my shoe and I was trying to joke about it to ease the very apparent tension. To this he snapped "just let me do my job". I was able to lower the chair when he answered the phone and was able to keep myself from rolling so much. This did however put me somewhat lower and my reach was not as long. He was pushed out from the table and could have easily come closer, instead he just kept yanking on my arms and muttering under his breath. When he was done with the fill, he was preparing to apply the gel even though the nails where poorly shaped and noticeably different lengths. I told him never mind on the polish and went to the counter to pay. He then tried to charge me the price that I have always paid for the finished work. I've always been charged a lot more than the listed prices on the wall but have always paid the price with a generous tip. I said that my nails weren't painted and therefore I shouldn't be charged for the polish. He knocked $5 of the original price although gel is listed as being $15 on his sign. I was so over it and almost in tears, so I just paid it and left. I now have made an appointment with another salon to have my nails fixed and polish applied. So sad that this all happened but read several reviews from below that said that he was rude to them also. Again, I have never posted a bad review and really wish I didn't have to now. read more

Got my nails done by Vu he was really great with answering questions. He did an awesome job and I was only there for about 1hr and 15 min. For a full set only $35 and this place is clean and well ventilated. They have vents next to the table. Also provide a fan when acrylic was being applied. I really like that i didnt have to smell it. While this place was clean and everyone was friendly, the young lady who did my pedicure did a less than mediocre job. The pedicure package I asked for came with a ten minute foot massage (each foot) and double scrubbing on the heels and bottoms of my feet, something I need because my feet are so dry and rough all the time. The massage was nothing more than rubbing my shins with two fingers in the same area and lightly, VERY VeRY lightly and quickly rubbed my feet (maybe 30 seconds each foot). Unfortunately there was little to no scrubbing of the bottoms of my feet. Usually they have to get the grader out for me but she lightly, lightly lightly, used the pumice Stone on each door for about one minute. I will not be returning to the location due to these issues! read more
