Coming here was a result of a fellow Yelper who checked in and I realized I had a craving for some wings. The shop is in a plaza just off Country Club so make sure you pay attention to your GPS to turn. Its located just under the awning area so you could miss it as a lot of signage from neighboring businesses is busy. Once I did find the spot, I came in with a big appetite. I went with 1/2 dozen of Lemon Pepper Wings, 1/2 dozen of Honey Hot, and when I saw Fried Catfish on the menu, I thought to myself, "yeap" let's do this. So I got the 3 piece Catfish with Fries... I held off on the mac & cheese as I had things to do in the afternoon and I knew it would weigh me down. In a way, I regret not getting the mac and cheese to try. Wings were great and seasoned well with the dry rub and the wet wasn't overkill. The Catfish was seasoned right and good, but I wasn't a big fan of the fries as they were a bit thicker than I anticipated, (I think I had in mind some "crinkle cut" style fries) but these were still good. If you come in for an order like this, expect 15-20 mins before it's ready. Best bet is to call in your order for pickup. Next time I come through I'm going after the Deep Fried Hot Link and the mac and cheese... Wings of course are 1st priority as they were a hit! read more

We ordered the honey BBQ wings and mac n cheese take out. Not much to say except everything was quite good and you will lick your fingers. Love the taste of the sauce on the wings and the mac n cheese was favorable. The people who work there are good at what they do, from the person who takes your order to the people who you see in the kitchen. You are made to feel welcome. Was my first time there and will definitely be back! Aj and Jordan did a great job with recommending what I should try and they suggested I went with their catfish plate that comes 2 pieces of catfish with 2 rolls and mac and cheese. The catfish had great flavor to it and was piping hot! I also tried their banana pudding and it was amazing! Definitely made fresh that day. Then I tried some of their sweet Yams after my meal that they had for sample, Great balance between sweet and savory and should definitely add them to the menu. I was super excited to try this place based on the reviews, but I was quickly let down. We ordered the fish and mac, the fish and fries, greens, the sloppy joe (holy nostalgia, I just had to try it) and the banana pudding. First, all of the fish tasted old, and I mean freezer burnt, way past its prime old. The greens were just ok and the Mac and cheese was the same. The fries were the only thing I was completely happy with. The sloppy joe was really just basic, which wasn't bad, wasn't spectacular either. The banana pudding I can't speak on because I didn't receive it. Normally I would call and complain about something like that, as well as the old fish, but I just don't even have the energy to jump through hoops tonight. Maybe the wings are their golden goose? D-Mac is a neat little truck in Mesa open up late night. Don't allow the food truck status to fool you because it has tons of character. This is mainly because of the person who manages it. I've been on the hunt for good catfish for a while now, and just good fish in general, which is hard to find here in Arizona. Enter D-Mac. They just opened their new location, and it was super hard to find, so allow me to help: They are next to the MetroPCS, behind literal walls. Go behind that little walled area, and you will find D-Mac. I ordered two orders of the 3 piece catfish with mac and cheese, for myself and my daughter (wife hates fish and worries all the food will be flavored like fish). I'd recommend ordering ahead, as they are new to the location and I've heard people complain about wait time. I ordered about 40 minutes ahead of when I'd be there, and my food was ready and hot when I got there. The catfish pieces are a pretty good size, although you gotta make sure they include that tartar sauce (they only gave us one packet for two orders). They were flavorful without being overbearing, not "too fishy" but not flaky flavorless sadness like some other fish offerings in Mesa. The Mac and Cheese was solid, a good baked mac. Ultimately, it was 4 star catfish, but considering the difficulty of making 4 star fish this far from any reliable source, that feat deserves 5 stars. read more
