I had a couple of kitchen knives that needed sharpening, one a high-end knife and the other a cheap one. The owner, an elderly gentleman who gave off an aura of a supreme master of knives, carefully examined each knife and said he could sharpen both. I paid the fee and was told they would be ready in a couple days. Four days later I called and was told the knives were ready for pick up. Both were sharpened nicely, like new. The cheap knife, which originally had some damage to the blade, was repaired and looked like the day it was bought 20 years ago. We are happy to have both of these knives back in our kitchen, ready to slice away. While I was there, I asked if they had any kitchen scissors and I was shown a couple of options. The differences between them were explained so I could make the best choice. I bought a pair and have been very happy with them!

I have some very expensive knives that I use both at home and my restaurant. A friend of mine told me about new edge cutlery, because he had some knives done as a favor, and really liked the results. The guy that sharpens the knives is really motivated, young, and takes this very seriously. My conversation with him felt like I was talking to a blacksmith or someone that taught a university class about precious metals. Anyway, he did an amazing job and I've definitely going back to him. One of the really good things I liked was that he asked me a lot of questions and wanted to make sure that I was satisfied when I got the knives. He's obviously, looking to do this not just for a profit but to build a good business, so go for it if you need to get some good knives sharpened.

Warranty Experience with Chef's Toys and Mulberry Technology…read moreInitial Purchase and Expectations In 2023, we invested a total of $26,472.61, which included taxes and two warranty insurance plans, for a 3-door KINTORA refrigerator and a 2-door KINTORA freezer. Our initial experience was smooth and hassle-free, largely thanks to our salesperson, Estaban Aguirre. Unfortunately, we later discovered that Estaban was no longer with the company. The Issue Arises On March 6, 2026, the hinge of our 3-door KINTORA refrigerator broke, rendering the refrigerator unusable. Since we had purchased a warranty, we immediately reached out to Estaban for assistance, only to learn from Raul Flores that Estaban was no longer employed with Chef's Toys. Raul provided us with contact information for Mulberry Technology, who was supposed to handle our warranty claims. Challenges with the Warranty Process This marked the beginning of a frustrating ordeal. It quickly became apparent that Chef's Toys was not well-acquainted with Mulberry Technology. Raul initially gave us an incorrect contact number for starting our claim. He directed us to Joshua Wohl at Mulberry, who, while not involved in claims processing, was helpful enough to connect us with the appropriate department--after we had already experienced several unhelpful responses from Raul. After sending our purchase order to Karime, our contact at Mulberry, we learned that Chef's Toys had never registered our protection plan with Mulberry or transferred the necessary funds for our warranty. We attempted to follow up with Raul but received no response until we escalated our concerns to Chef's Toys' corporate office. Unfortunately, reaching out to their main line at 714-662-2433 during business hours of M-F between 9am-5pm only led to a voicemail, and our emails through their website also went unanswered. This is TERRIBLE! Resolution and Lingering Frustrations Eventually, Raul from Chef's Toys responded and offered a courtesy repair for our refrigerator door but informed us that our remaining warranty coverage would not be honored. This was frustrating, as we had already paid for the warranty. During this period, on March 25, the Health Department visited and deducted points from our inspection due to the non-functional equipment. We promptly notified Raul about the urgency, as another inspection was scheduled for April 6. Fortunately, the Health Department accepted our communication with Raul and a photo of the completed repair as proof. The entire process--from the breakdown on March 6 to the repair on April 6--took a full month. This delay was disappointing, especially given that waiting for a part should not have justified such a lengthy timeline; someone could have delivered the part to expedite the repair.

Last time I went looking for something specific, they didn't have it. I tried striking up some friendly conversation with the guy at the counter. He was dusting and made it very obvious he had no interest in talking or being friendly or even courteous. That's ok, I lived my life fine without this store, I can continue on. They're pretty much rock stars in the custom and tactical knife world, but they are very down to earth and treat every customer with dignity, respect, and give you the benefit of the doubt. Their production line is fantastic... I have many friends with Emerson Knives and I've enjoyed trying out each and every one of them. Their custom line is just a step above the rest. Difficult to acquire, a closed order book, requires you to sign up for lotteries and shows in the hopes that you acquire one at the reasonable table price of between $650-$850. Otherwise, you will be paying a premium from a third party dealer of between $900 to $3000 depending on the knife in question. In fact for some of the rarer customs the prices will skyrocket beyond that upper limit I just mentioned. One day I will win a lottery custom...and I will be ecstatic. =)

I the called and spoke with a young lady who apparently knew absolutely nothing about anything. She was not unfriendly or hostile, just totally clueless. I requested that she have somebody at Emerson contact me with an answer to my question. After 2 more weeks, still zero response. So, I have to ask - why does Emerson even claim to have a customer service section? It is completely useless and a waste of time. As stated, I like my CQC 15 but, based on this experience, will make no future purchases from Emerson. There are too many other quality knife makers who actually value their customers for me to do so.

I happened to have my $300 mid-tech folder on me and it was a bit dull so I asked if they sharpened knives. I was told that they had a guy who was in the "military" and was really good so I left my knife with them. I wish I had looked at the reviews here before doing that because my knife came back less sharp than when I left it with them. Problems with the sharpening: 1) I can feel the burrs on the blade edge - Either he didn't use a fine stone to complete the sharpening or he forgot to finish the knife. 2) I don't think he sharpened the entire knife, part of the edge that's near the handle of the knife has no burrs and does not feel any sharper than it was when I left it. 3) Blade edge at the tip of the knife is now uneven. I could of done a better job myself with the The Wicked Edge sharpening system. If you have a $100 set of cooking knives you got from Macys's and its been several years since you've had them sharpened this guy may be able to do a decent job but he clearly isn't capable of sharpening anything more challenging than a cheap piece of metal.

Anyways, I showed up in the afternoon on a Tuesday, and I was the only one there. Shortly after walking in, a man who I presume is the owner, helped me out right after I said I had 2 knives to get sharpened. The front area has a big wooden cutting board that you can use to demo the knives out after they're sharpened, which I thought was cool. There's also walls and walls of cool knives, which I couldn't tell if they were for sale or for demos, but they were really cool to look at while I waited. The service was incredibly reasonably priced. I was out of there with sharpened knives in less than 10 minutes and the space was reasonably large. I hope that means the business is doing well. It certainly deserves to. I got exactly the service I requested. The quality of the knives was so good that my dad actually got a little cut after I gave them back to him. Nothing major, but was a bit funny and definitely proof that they were quite sharpened. The value for the time was extremely good. This is the type of small business that you definitely want to support, and I'll definitely be recommending Mr. Sharpe knives in the future.

He told me they would be done in 15-20 minutes so I ran next door to grab some lunch. When I returned, they were ready to go. He explained what he did, addressed a few minor concerns about how I am storing my knives, and packaged them up to go. These knives are so sharp, it's kind of crazy. I am beyond happy with my experience and will be back the moment my knives need some attention. If you have knives that need sharpening go here. You won't be disappointed.
