I had a couple of kitchen knives that needed sharpening, one a high-end knife and the other a cheap one. The owner, an elderly gentleman who gave off an aura of a supreme master of knives, carefully examined each knife and said he could sharpen both. I paid the fee and was told they would be ready in a couple days. Four days later I called and was told the knives were ready for pick up. Both were sharpened nicely, like new. The cheap knife, which originally had some damage to the blade, was repaired and looked like the day it was bought 20 years ago. We are happy to have both of these knives back in our kitchen, ready to slice away. While I was there, I asked if they had any kitchen scissors and I was shown a couple of options. The differences between them were explained so I could make the best choice. I bought a pair and have been very happy with them!

You can place an order, ask for a shipping box, arrange for pick up and delivery without any felt effort. Service is fast, often just a few days between placing an order and having your knives returned. My latest batch of knives left in miserable shape and returned sharp and gleaming. "Sharp" does not even begin to describe the edge that Schmidt's achieves for your knives. They also clean and polish your knives so you basically have a new set of knives each time. I had a chance to speak to Mike over the phone before I had them sharpened. Basically this company deals in bulk and the prices drop per knife the more that the customer sharpens. We had about 20 knives to sharpen and they ended up being about 7 dollars a knife when it was all said and done. The part that was pretty cool is that they send you an empty box directly to your house. It comes with a shipping label and some packaging material. After the knives were shipped back I got a phone call personally from Mike confirming that everything was perfect on my order. I cannot even begin to describe how sharp these knives were. I just don't understand why their customer service couldn't respond to my inquiries telling me that they were backed up. I paid about $60 for the 4 knives plus I got one free serrated knife. I think that is a fair deal.
