Before Dave

A sharp knife is a safer knife and should go where you point it without a struggle. We use a variety of knives daily, so I have hesitated to be without our favorites while they are sent off for sharpening. Dave was very quick and the knives came home razor sharp. I can't recall them ever being this good. Japanese, German and even a KitchenAid. Dave was wonderful to work with and let me know as soon as the knives were done. Pricing was very reasonable and the quality service was one thousand stars.

Dave is the MAN! Found him on Yelp and decided to give him a shot based on his solid reviews. He was so cool and kind from start to end. I showed up with a number of different knives - steak, bread, paring, chefs, etc - and he took care of them all in about 20 minutes. He even fixed one of my knives that had some decent sized chips in the blade. Cant even tell it was ever damaged. Very reasonably priced and I will definitely be back. Also recommending him to all of my family and friends. Everyone should have a good knife guy! Thanks, Dave. Looking forward to doing more business with you in the future. Cheers!.

We have recently gotten into the art of custom knives. As long time outdoors enthusiasts, our purposes for them are large and varied. The "small batch" world of blade artisans is surprisingly small. It was high time to find a companion to the collection. His Yelp reviews are what drew us to him and we were not let down. Dave is a master. I took him an assortment of blades that were worked. As well as, an assignment of blades that needed the razor edge. He sharpened all. These knives came back beautiful.... Dave, we got a few more to bring in the next few months...lol, and the Fiskar will be back soon. That thing loves its job, and I love working it. Thanks for the attention to detail, even with the nightmare grind. Now I can mall ninja with the best of them.

I seriously needed to have all my things sharpened.  I hadn't had them done for years and after trying to prune my garden with a struggle, I made the decision to gather them all together and take them in. After seeing so many 5 star reviews I decided to take them to Dave.  I called and made the arrangements to drop them off.  We texted back and forth to arrange a time to drop them off.  Come to find out we had almost 25 things to sharpen!  I brought Dave everything from a rusty old axe to a priceless heirloom knife my uncle forged many years ago.  All tolled, I entrusted him with about $800 worth of knives, garden tools and scissors.  I even took him my favorite knife I carry with me every day (I am so very picky about how it's treated).  All my worries went away once I met him.   Dave has a great patio at the front of his home where you meet with him to drop off and pick up your knives.  He kept me informed of the progress and everything was completed just as promised. I thought his prices were very fair.   If you've ever taken your cutlery to a farmers market for sharpening, please think twice. Don't trust a Joe Blow who grinds edges off with a grinder bought at Lowes.  It is worth every minute oftime to take them to the right place.   I'm glad I did.  Here is a finished photo of my favorite knife and a knife made by my uncle 50 years ago.

My submission to get sharpened. $6 per knife, flat rate, not charged by "inches" of the blade.

Hi Rick, so the machine you see is a Tormek from Sweden..It uses a composite Japanese whetstone, water-cooled thru a trough of water as the wheel turns..It's a slow-moving, spark free, dust free machine that is not considered a grinder at all, and… Read more

I love to cook & I see all the possibilities of the items to make life easier or more efficient here. My santoku is starting to become dull & needs sharpening. I couldn't my favorite chef 's knife (the whole knife block cannot be found!) Hubby found a chefs knife & he got me the sharpener. I told him I wanted to get the stone/honing block but he opted for the metal kind. The staff are super helpful & answered our questions. There so many "toys" I wanted to buy but I must resist the urge to amass more "clutter" (that's what Hubby calls it, but he reaps the benefit when he eats what I cook). I still need a dumpling rolling pin, but they only have standard types at this location. Aisles are fairly spacious & inventory appears well stocked, neatly arranged & sorted. Prices are fair & marked accordingly. It has its own designated free parking lot. Good shopping trip, met our goals.

Warranty Experience with Chef's Toys and Mulberry Technology…read moreInitial Purchase and Expectations In 2023, we invested a total of $26,472.61, which included taxes and two warranty insurance plans, for a 3-door KINTORA refrigerator and a 2-door KINTORA freezer. Our initial experience was smooth and hassle-free, largely thanks to our salesperson, Estaban Aguirre. Unfortunately, we later discovered that Estaban was no longer with the company. The Issue Arises On March 6, 2026, the hinge of our 3-door KINTORA refrigerator broke, rendering the refrigerator unusable. Since we had purchased a warranty, we immediately reached out to Estaban for assistance, only to learn from Raul Flores that Estaban was no longer employed with Chef's Toys. Raul provided us with contact information for Mulberry Technology, who was supposed to handle our warranty claims. Challenges with the Warranty Process This marked the beginning of a frustrating ordeal. It quickly became apparent that Chef's Toys was not well-acquainted with Mulberry Technology. Raul initially gave us an incorrect contact number for starting our claim. He directed us to Joshua Wohl at Mulberry, who, while not involved in claims processing, was helpful enough to connect us with the appropriate department--after we had already experienced several unhelpful responses from Raul. After sending our purchase order to Karime, our contact at Mulberry, we learned that Chef's Toys had never registered our protection plan with Mulberry or transferred the necessary funds for our warranty. We attempted to follow up with Raul but received no response until we escalated our concerns to Chef's Toys' corporate office. Unfortunately, reaching out to their main line at 714-662-2433 during business hours of M-F between 9am-5pm only led to a voicemail, and our emails through their website also went unanswered. This is TERRIBLE! Resolution and Lingering Frustrations Eventually, Raul from Chef's Toys responded and offered a courtesy repair for our refrigerator door but informed us that our remaining warranty coverage would not be honored. This was frustrating, as we had already paid for the warranty. During this period, on March 25, the Health Department visited and deducted points from our inspection due to the non-functional equipment. We promptly notified Raul about the urgency, as another inspection was scheduled for April 6. Fortunately, the Health Department accepted our communication with Raul and a photo of the completed repair as proof. The entire process--from the breakdown on March 6 to the repair on April 6--took a full month. This delay was disappointing, especially given that waiting for a part should not have justified such a lengthy timeline; someone could have delivered the part to expedite the repair.

She is a knife snob and the most condescending salesperson I've met. When asked questions directly, she responds with enthusiast jargon to make herself feel superior. The collection is okay, they have some really good stuff and some alright products. I'd rather walk a few paces and spend my money at Williams Sonoma. I am confident that this business loses a lot of money because of her poor attitude.

I happened to have my $300 mid-tech folder on me and it was a bit dull so I asked if they sharpened knives. I was told that they had a guy who was in the "military" and was really good so I left my knife with them. I wish I had looked at the reviews here before doing that because my knife came back less sharp than when I left it with them. Problems with the sharpening: 1) I can feel the burrs on the blade edge - Either he didn't use a fine stone to complete the sharpening or he forgot to finish the knife. 2) I don't think he sharpened the entire knife, part of the edge that's near the handle of the knife has no burrs and does not feel any sharper than it was when I left it. 3) Blade edge at the tip of the knife is now uneven. I could of done a better job myself with the The Wicked Edge sharpening system. If you have a $100 set of cooking knives you got from Macys's and its been several years since you've had them sharpened this guy may be able to do a decent job but he clearly isn't capable of sharpening anything more challenging than a cheap piece of metal.
