I just got my knives sharpened by Red. This is something I should have done sooner but I didn't know where to go. Red came to me, set up in the parking spot of my apt building. All that was needed was a power outlet to plug in and Red was ready to go. I got a little history /background about my knives, which I have had for about 5 years and are of fairly good quality and craftsmanship but I wasn't sure and didn't know much about. Red repaired the less-than-smooth edges of years of neglect and sharpened each knife to a brand-new state. Now that I'm doing more cooking I think I'll do a better job of maintaining my knives in shape. This experience was very convenient. There's a minimum cost for mobile services (80$), my neighbor happened to notice and decided to get her knives sharpened which was great because we met the minimum for mobile services dropping the total cost of the sharpening to an a la carte menu split between 2 people for our sets. Overall, I think it was a great value whether you get your own set sharpened, or go in with a few friends to meet the minimum and get a la carte pricing. Very happy with this service. read more

They were decades old and well worn. The chefs knife had been honed so much there was almost a recurve near the hilt. Red sculpted the hilt, flattened the blade, reformed the edge and tip.
