This is a really convenient spot to grab dinner if you have an event at Madison Square Garden. We had dinner before a Rangers game, and it was good but there were a couple hiccups. When I arrived, the host greeted me right away and was very friendly and led me to my table, but I thought it was very odd that you have to go behind the host stand to get to the dining room, especially since it's a narrow walkway and you have to make sure you don't bump into the people sitting at the table next to the walkway. The servers were very friendly and attentive especially with refilling our waters, but a couple hiccups included: - One person in our party asked to get a plate since she was just eating the vegetarian side dishes, but they didn't bring one - Forgot one of our side dish orders - Almost cleared a dish we had asked to be boxed up I thought the food was delicious, although one person's steak was rare when he had wanted medium rare. This restaurant was amazing. Everything we ordered came out piping hot and had so much flavor. We ordered the Clams as an appetizer and they were cooked with breadcrumbs which was so delicious. The steak we ordered was great. One thing I really loved was the Potato Au Gratin as a side.. chefs kiss!! Our server was extremely kind and patient with our table. I had the pleasure of having lunch at DK restaurant earlier this week. It's a few minute walk from Madison Square Garden so it's very convenient if you're attending a game. When I arrived the hostess was friendly and seated me right away. Our server was excellent he recommended the branzino which was very good. My friend had the filet which I was told was cooked to perfection. The tables were full but it was quiet enough to have a conversation. It looks like an old style steak house which I enjoyed. We had a reservation and arrived a little late. We walked from our hotel and had a hard time following the map to get there. We called the restaurant and the hostess guided us without a hassle. We were celebrating my sisters birthday Once we entered, we were treated like old friends - this was our first time here. The staff welcomed us in and joked about us being lost. They sat me and my sister near the window (table 24) and we people watched. Rafael was our server and he was excellent. He checked on us often and he made a great wine recommendation for my sister. He even held our food in the kitchen keeping it warm for us as my sister had to go back and retrace her steps because she thought she lost her cell phone (it was in the room at the hotel). The food was good. From the warm bread & calamari to our main dishes of crab cakes & short ribs. The short ribs were fork tender and really delicious. The chef actually made a crab cake entree for my sister with coleslaw - the menu only offered an appetizer. Being from Washington DC and having crabs all year round my sister thought the crab cake was just ok and if given an another chance she'd order something else. We were offered a few dessert options but we were cutting it close to our theater time so we declined. This is a restaurant that I'll keep in mind when I come back to NYC with my husband. read more

I love a good steakhouse, I mean who doesn't and this place was another win for sure! Right around the corner from the hotel my brother and sister in law were staying at and it was great. They were packed for a Tuesday night, it was also two weeks before Christmas so that makes sense. A good sign of course walking in for the first time. We did not have reservations so we had to wait just a couple of minutes. The steak was cooked perfectly to order for all of us. The fried onions on top are a nice addition. For the sides I went with my go to, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Two perfect sides for a nice steak in my opinion. While everything was delicious I have to say the addition of shaved truffles to the top of the creamed spinach was fantastic!!! This was a first for me and this flavor profile went together perfectly! Our waiter, he's been there since the restaurant opened 34 years ago. We talked to the owner after dinner and he said that is the only Employee that's been there since they opened. So many steakhouse in NYC and the shaved truffles on top of the creamed spinach is what's going to make me remember this place. Came here on a Tuesday night with my boyfriend for a quick dinner, no frills really. The place is big, dim lights, and it wasn't crowded. We ordered two glasses of wine, onion rings, and Mac and cheese to start. A tomahawk with a side of creamed spinach as a main that we'd be sharing. While the meat was good and full of flavor, and the wines were exactly as described on the wine list, everything else wasn't. The Mac and cheese was made with a specific, smelly cheese that isn't everybody's favorite. It wasn't state anywhere really, so there wasn't any way for me to prevent not liking it (I think they used taleggio cheese). The onion rings were particular: the batter was... I don't know how to explain it. Tough. I scratched my palate not crispy! Felt like eating crunchy glass and the spinach was TERRIBLE. I had to spit it. I think they burned it and tried to cover the flavor with some garlic. We tried telling the server about the spinach but he didn't seem to care. The chicken was crisp and the waffles were crispy on outside. My husband had the Alice Big Breakfast, which was nicely done. I honestly had very modest expectations for what I thought would be a fairly generic midtown restaurant. Instead, I may have had my most enjoyable meal ever. Maybe my expectations played into it, but everything was perfect, from the soup to the desserts. The sweet potato leek soup was unique and delicious, the gnocchi with shrimp and sundried tomatoes was lighter and less filling than the item would suggest, and the sea bass with little neck clams was perfectly balanced. By the end, I didn't NEED the creme brulee, but I'm glad I did. The cost was very reasonable, as well, and not just for NYC. I will be returning! read more

We arrived about 5pm to plenty of seating at the full service bar. Early on it was quiet and got lively as time went on. Some libations with our gracious bartender who helped pass the 45 minutes away while we waited to be seated for our reservation. Starters were glasses of cab, kitchen salad, burrata and tomatoes. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive, giving us numerous menu and specials to choose from. My wife had the filet and I had a veal chop, spinach (garlic and oil), roasted brussel sprouts and baby carrots. Everything was hot, delicious and plentiful. No room for dessert : ( Maybe next time. Solid option close by MSG that is the rebranded Delmonico (yes they have the steak!). The seating is comfortable and the food quite solid with very reasonable prices, to boot. I was very pleasantly surprised by the tender swordfish (daily special) and double burger + fries. I would say that the double patty burger was definitely one of the better thin-paty burgers I have had - it was juicy and tender even though it was well-done, and the accompanying fries were excellent. The restaurant was completely empty but our server was incredibly gracious and attentive. The food was pretty good. The sides are definitely enough for more than one person. I ordered the filet mignon with the blue cheese on it. It's a good thing I love blue cheese because it was swimming in it (fine by me but keep in mind). The creamed spinach was good - truffle on top gave it a nice flavor but it was very - smooth? Kind of like a creamed spinach sauce that was well blended? Tasty but odd. The French fries were delicious and the steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare. My daughter got the smaller portion of pasta and ate all of it. Dessert was a lava cake that was more of a flourless chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream and a really good cup of coffee. Overall, a solid choice for pre-show dinner in a good location. read more

A hidden gem in Midtown. Honestly just spotted it while walking and decided to give it a try. So many places to get steak in NYC, and we hit the jackpot here. Had a Seafood Chateau for starters. Great sampling of oysters, shrimp, tuna tartar, etc. The Tomahawk was perfect. And as big as my head. You have to have the DK potatoes. Trust me. Just order them. I have to say I am surprised that it isn't busy here at all. Shame. Lots of people missing out. Got a reservation just before I got there, but not sure if it is needed all the time. Main matre D or manager acknowledged every other guest but me, loss of 2 stars. I sat at the bar as a single patron. The bartender, an ecuadorian dude, was awesome. Catered quickly to requests, kept up chit chat with all patrons and overall 5 stars for that guy making it a welcoming place. The clams were 3 out of 5 stars, the beef carpaccio was chefs kiss 5 stars. This place has an elegant vibe , sports on tvs, i went after an escape room and wouldnt go out of my way to come back here again unless i went back to that escape room. This place was amazing, food was great, service was great; and they treated us as if we were the only clients in the restaurant. It is very well situated, not far from time square and lot's of comedy clubs and entertainment. The steak was cooked to perfection, fries were crispy and the prices very affordable. I was with 5 people and we had a reservation. This place came highly recommended from colleagues. When we arrived a table was not ready at our reservation time so we had a few beers while we waited. Eventually the table right next to the host stand was offered to us so 15 minutes after our reservation time we were sat. We all were quite hungry so one of my teammates ordered the Delmonico seafood tower for an appetizer which had lobster, shrimp, mussels and clams with various dipping sauces. Everything tasted great except the clams. They were the saltiest clams I have eaten and it didn't take more than one to learn that lesson. For an entree 3 of my teammates ordered the fillet, one other teammate order a flatbread, and I ordered the Delmonico Ribeye. After we ordered I asked for a beer and the waiter came to the bar at least 5 times and it took my coworker reminding him while he was at the bar for him ti bring me my beer. After an extensive wait the entrees arrived along with some sides. My steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great which I ended up splitting with one of my teammates who's fillet was over cooked. The verdict on the remaining fillets wasn't great either. Between the time waiting for a table which was a available along, the time waiting for my beer after being sat and the overall rating on the fillets, a 3 star review for this restaurant is generous. Delmonicos' Kitchen in NYC is top notch. The service is everything you expect at a steakhouse. The ribeyes were exceptional - we ordered sized of mushrooms, a side of their own style of macaroni and cheese and a gratuitous helping a exceptionally well done grilled asparagus. The bourbon old fashions were well balanced and tasty, and the bottles of cabernet (the name eluds me, but very similar in taste and profile to Caymus) was delightful. The service staff were prompt, knowledgeable and helpful, and even the owner was engaged as we spent some time at the bar top after dinner and he joined us for a discussion. Overall very impressed. Our server was very knowledgeable on any questions we had and overall had a great energy about him. We both ordered the NY Strip special which has sautéd mushrooms and onions. We had a group of 12 colleagues who dined at Delmonico's after a long day of meetings. We arrived around 6 pm and were sat within minutes. We were in the back of the restaurant in a room that had several large tables. We were dining on a night when U2 was in town, so there were a lot of groups dining before the concert. We started by ordering wine. Many of the bottles we requested were out of stock, but after 5 or 6 selections, we finally found one they had. The only ole, was there was only one bottle, so we had to go back to the menu to find something that had at least 3 bottles. We settled on one and moved on to appetizers. For the table we ordered grilled octopus, pork belly, pizza and oysters. All of the appetizers were fantastic. I really enjoyed the oysters, which were like an oysters Rockefeller. Our entrees varied, but I ordered a filet and we ordered a bunch of sides to share. My steak was more medium to medium well, but it took so long to get our meals that I didn't want to send it back. I'm sure the waiter either misunderstood me or they were just busy and got the temperature wrong. The taste was nice. The sides were good too. I tried the whipped potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes tasted like the instant kind, so I only had a few bites. My mom wasn't the best cook when I was a kid and she would use the boxed mashed potatoes, so the Delmonico's whipped potatoes brought back a not-so-good food memory. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but it wasn't the best steak I've had. The nice thing is it was close to,our hotel, so an easy walk back after stuffing ourselves. read more
