Stumbled upon this hidden gem yesterday. I was delighted to find out it was on Diners, Drive-in and Dives. It did not disappoint. I had the lobster roll, my friend had the clam chowder, fries and garlic bread. My roll was huge, stuffed with fresh deliciousness, the roll was perfectly toasted. A little shack on Duval that was featured Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives. It felt like it ought to be on a beach front - cute and quirky. Would have given it 5 stars but.... way overpriced - cost $80 bucks for 2 Lobster Rolls (not overstuffed - those were $42 a pop!), an order of Conch Fritters and 2 sodas. And I despise the auto tip on the credit card machine. You order at a window and a runner brings out your food. You clean your own table. That's aside, the Lobster roll was good. It says "no fillers" but there was plenty of celery. The lobster itself was a bit dry. The roll was delicious! Overall, enjoyable. The Conch Fritters need some work and I wouldn't recommend them. They had no flavor, deflated (yes they deflated - not sure if it was due to the lack of filling or being overcooked) and fell apart when you cut into them and they left a bitter aftertaste, like old oil. The dipping sauce was delicious though. Unfortunately for DJ's, out of the five places we tested Conch Fritters, they came in 4th. There are tables in the rear and a restroom should one need. If the sun is glaring though- you'll be hard pressed for shade. For a quick meal it's fine but truly a one time only experience due to the exorbitant cost and unexpected pressure to tip. read more

My #1 place outside of the East Coast for a truly delicious Lobster Roll. This small, cozy place is the only one I've found anywhere here who does Lobster Rolls right! Perfection is the warm, buttery, grilled roll piled high with big, fresh lobster. This isn't the lobster salad type roll, thank goodness! None of that mayo, celery and whatever else they add in as a kind of "filler". The roll and large pieces of lobster are swimming in melted butter and you even have the buttery luxury of an extra cup of drawn butter to completely douse it all. The lobster pieces are large and easily recognizable as lobster, not chopped up so you wonder what else is in the "salad" style meal. We's also enjoyed the huge Mahi Mahi taco that comes as 2 to the order with fries and slaw. Husband loves that and the Seafood Threesome basket. You really can't go wrong in this place. It was a little small for 25 dollars but not horrible at all. There were good chunks of lobster and it was very satisfying. Wow, was this place a find! Just Yelped restaurants near me and this place popped up with a ton of positivity coming from it so I had to give it a try. Came in for lunch on a Tuesday at 11:30. No line, but by the time I left, it was out to the street. Saw a coconut shrimp on the special menu. Not a big fan of coconut, but I decided to gove it a try, and boy was I impressed. This is not the stuff you get from Costco. We're talking huge shrimp with big shavings of coconut deep fried with a chili lime sauce. Tasted more like a Chineese duck sauce to me, but it was good.
