BOs is everything it needs to be quiet, quirky, and a good vibe. The food is pretty okay in my opinion and is convenient if you don't want to wait in the long lines for other places at lunch time. They were also open New Years Day which was great for us. The service was great and the staff was very kind. There were some seats that I felt I might fall through though. Must give it a strong four stars simply for the wicked decor and the coffee offered at a mere $2.15 a cup. The small free standing building looked like it was going collapse, but showed extreme originality. The old license plates displayed in front of a rusted out truck covered in old business stickers. While waiting a few minutes for my coffee, I watched as the chef prepared fish tacos on the flat grill which looked and smelled amazing. read more

This fish shack has been around for a very long time. It is truly a wooden shack but i can say the cracked conch and conch fritters were really good ! The atmosphere is a little crazy. It is entertaining if you like read all the signs and watching people on the street. There isn't any real comfortable seating on the wooden tables. We managed with two stools at a counter overlooking the street. We ordered at the counter and the chef who also took our order brought out our food. The prices were very good and we were able to walk there from our hotel. It's definitely a place to see and take some fun pictures. The food was worth it! read more

The exterior was unique and interesting, but gave it a shot because the place up the street is cash only. Also, that place's staff seemed a little bored/tired, which was a big contrast to B.O.'s welcoming staff. They did great with food recommendations, and just being fun/engaging. I had the pink shrimp tacos; very filling and tasty. The fries were also excellent. Conch Fritters were delicious, and my wife enjoyed her grouper platter a lot. Definitely will return. read more

A unique corner grill with tasty fish sandwiches, burgers and dogs. I had the daily catch, Wahoo, a light white fish with Cajun spice. It's all outside seating that is covered with license plates and stickers from everywhere. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat and I have been visiting this location for decades. I still feel this is the best place for a grouper sandwich and cracked conch. This is a come as you are dive location but the food is fantastic. Order at the counter and they bring out your food. As for ambience, I would say it has a rustic beach feel. Delicious fish tacos at this quaint little dive. We got the grilled mahi mahi with fries and sat at the counter bar overlooking the street. It was later in the evening, so they were out of the yellowtail snapper, but these were so good, I can't complain. It would have been nice to mix and match, but that isn't an option. We came to Key West on a cruise ship. Bo's was just a couple of blocks from the crowded streets of the cruise ship passengers. We had fried grouper sandwich, conch fritters, and onion rings. The food was fresh and delicious. The place is more of a shack than a wagon, but there was a nice breeze in the seating area. Great lunch! Highly recommend! read more

2 meals one day. Thats how good Bo's is. Seriously, lunch was so good that we came back for dinner the same day. The conch sandwich (had it for lunch and dinner) has large pieces of conch unlike anywhere else weve seen in the Keys. Fried to perfection - not too chewy and seasoned just right. We also had the grilled mahi sandwich (lunch) and the grilled shrimp sandwich (dinner). Both were excellent. Not only is all the fish done right, but the bread. Oh the bread. Normally I don't think much about the bread, but the Cuban-style rolls they use are off the hook. It's super casual atmosphere. Found items meets beach vibe. And the staff is friendly, and they won't give away their secret to the great eats. Seating is an out door/indoor thing. Covered from sun and rain but open so no AC. Bottomline, do not walk, jump on scooter and get yourself to Bo's any and every yime you come to the Keys. read more

Heard many positive things about Bo's and would say mostly true. The fish sandwich was very good as the fish is cooked well and the bread used was soft and tasty! I found a bit pricy for what you got but glad I tried their food. Ambience is your typical keys seafood shack with license plates and other signage you'd find in hole in the wall type establishments. Service was ok. You order at a counter and they call your number. Nothing special. read more

One good thing about Bo is their grilled shrimp sandwich. Definitely do not miss shrimp sandwich. They have good size Florida pink shrimp. The pink shrimp is sweet and big especially the local shrimp. It is grilled on flat grill plate and top with some type of all bay sauce. The other items we have try include the grouper sandwich. Which I am disappointed. Tiny pieces and expensive. We also have local white fish with rice. We feel the gem of the restaurant is still the pink shrimp. The restaurant is just like a shack on the parking lot. But they did attract a lot of customers. The restaurant is open air. Function-able. Price is in the medium range. read more

A small, simple menu that gets it right: you'll have a choice of a couple different fresh catch, grilled or fried, on a plate or a sandwich. I had one of my favorites the day I went, which was yellowtail for $14.95. I usually don't opt for fried, but on a hot day, a fried sandwich sounded right. They put it on Cuban bread with key lime remoulade, LTO, and with a dash of hot sauce, it was really great. Simple, humble Keys food like that is the best! read more

The owner, Buddy Owen, is something of a local legend, having started his operation more than 25 years ago out of a little wagon on Duval Street. Bobby Flay and his Food Network camera crew paid a visit a few years ago, and no wonder. For the price definitely wasn't worth it.

Food: I always enjoy when a restaurant offers a creative and inventive cocktail menu. I won't go into detail on each one, but they were all very good, especially the Spiced Old Fashioned. At our server's suggestion, we ordered a couple of plates of the Grilled Ciabatta Bread. The bread was nicely grilled, and the roasted garlic manchego butter made it especially delicious. I normally try not to fill up on bread, but this was absolutely worth it. We ordered an eclectic mix of small and large plates. Some of the standout dishes included the Lobster Mac and Cheese, Swordfish, and Crab Cake. The Brussels sprouts took top honors, perfectly roasted without being greasy, full of flavor, and complemented by a generous amount of bacon. The one disappointment was the Pork Shank Osso Buco. While it was tender, it was only warm and a bit underseasoned. It was good, but not great, especially for someone who enjoys pork shank dishes. We saved room for dessert, and they were all crowd pleasers. My personal favorite was the Cuban Bread Pudding. The Chocolate Pistachio Crème Brûlée was also unique and delicious. Service: We had reservations for 7:30 and were seated promptly. The hostess and our server did a great job of making us feel welcome. The entire two-hour meal was well paced, and we always felt attended to. I was especially impressed with the backlit menu portfolios. They made it easy to read in the evening without guests needing to use their phone flashlights, which was a thoughtful and effective use of technology. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they placed a sign on the table acknowledging the occasion, which was a nice touch. It would have been even better if one of the desserts had included a lit candle. Atmosphere: The setting is beautiful. We were seated in a smaller dining room with several other tables. When we first arrived, there was a larger, very boisterous group nearby, and it made it difficult to hear our server. Fortunately, they left about 30 minutes into our meal, and the atmosphere became much more relaxed and enjoyable. Our waterfront view added to the experience. This was a very special evening. It was also the most expensive meal we had in Key West, so it was reasonable to have high expectations. With a few improvements, it could have been a five-star experience. Definitely a place we would return to.

However, we were the only customers there, so they could have easily remade a fresh batch that was not overcooked. I would not try this shack again or recommend it to others.
