A memorable new Zabiha Halal Dining Experience Not just food, a full 5-star experience. That's how I'd describe DIYAR in Issaquah. Honestly, one of the best new additions to both the Iranian and halal food scene in the Pacific Northwest. The moment i entered, i felt this place was designed to create an experience, not just serve a meal. You walk into fish pond and garden-inspired entrance that immediately transports you elsewhere. Persian culture is embedded into every corner -- arches, colorful stained glass, mosaics, chandeliers, intricate wall designs... the touch of Iran is everywhere. I genuinely haven't seen another restaurant here that has gone this deep into cultural design and ambiance. Even the staff uniforms stood out, traditional embroidered coats that perfectly matched the atmosphere. And as soon as I seated, 20 month old got his own dining utensils and a lovely toy. beautifully thought! The restaurant itself is massive, with spacious seating, family booths, open gathering areas, and large private room designed for family events and parties. There's also a separate café section on the side, giving the entire place multiple different vibes under one roof. And then came the food. The Tahdig was easily one of the best I've had in a long time -- a unique variation, perfectly crisp on the outside while staying soft underneath. 5/5 On top of it, I ordered Ghormeh Sabzi -- essentially the national dish of Iran. Another 5/5 for me. The herbs and dried lemon were beautifully balanced, the texture was creamy and rich, and the beef had absorbed all those deep herbal aromas. The Mazze Sampler was also excellent. The Kashk-e Bademjan was buttery, slightly smoky, with gentle sweetness throughout -- incredibly comforting. Mast-o-Khiar was thick, rich, and refreshing. The hummus leaned more garlicky, which I personally enjoyed. The falafel was decent too, though definitely more Persian in style, I still personally prefer the Palestinian-style versions. And I completely forgot about the drinks. The traditional buttermilk drink, DOOGH, was incredibly refreshing and paired beautifully with the heavier kababs and rice dishes. I also tried the DIYAR Mojito. It was good, though a little lighter in flavor than I expected. Decent enough, but I'd probably explore some of their other drinks next time instead, not necessarily a must-order. Another surprise for me was the Shirin Polo. A beautiful saffron-infused Persian rice loaded with sweetness, nuts, and fruity flavors. It immediately reminded me of Zarda, the celebratory sweet rice dish famous in Bangladesh and Pakistan. It genuinely made me wonder, did Zarda originate from Persian cuisine? I would definitely order Shirin Polo again. And one thing I really appreciated was the generosity of the meal portions. The endless rice, fresh bread, stews, kababs, sides -- everything together felt less like a restaurant dinner and more like a feast or festival gathering. But obviously, the centerpiece of any Persian meal is the kabab. I tried four: * Beef Koobideh * Chicken Joojeh Kabob * Beef Shish Kabob * Barg (beef tenderloin kabob) The Chicken Joojeh and Beef Shish Kabob both scored full points from me -- super juicy, tender, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. The Koobideh was excellent too (4.5/5). The Barg used very high-quality meat, though I personally wished for just a little more buttery richness and flavor depth (4/5). I also tried Gheimeh Bademjan -- a tomato-based split pea stew with beef and fried eggplant. Hands down another standout dish. Deeply comforting, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. Soo goood .... DIYAR was founded by the family behind Kabob Korner and Bella Balducci, and with this restaurant, they've elevated themselves into something much bigger. They're bringing a truly immersive Persian dining experience to the Pacific Northwest. I genuinely loved this place. And of course, no Persian meal ends without tea and dessert. I tried the baklava and the Persian date-filled cookie. Both were good and enjoyable, though I wouldn't necessarily call them must-tries compared to the rest of the menu. I just checked their rating 4.9/5 -- well deserved Location: 4592 Klahanie Dr. SE, Issaquah, WA 98029

We've been here 4 times now and still love it just as much. They've already added a lunch menu, have daily specials on offer, and the Chef has even asked for our input on our experience to get feedback. They're doing wonderfully delicious things here and the service, quality, and flavor has made them a quick dinner solution so close to home. It's such a beautiful space, I love the colorful booths every time we are seated.

Excellent Persian food. We had a large group and everybody loved their food. I tried the salad shirazi, Misra ghasemi, kabob (barg, joojeh, and koobideh), fries, and a sekanjebin drink. Everything was great. The joojeh was moist, the barg tender, the koobideh juicy. The rice perfectly fluffy and buttery. The service was impeccable. The decor chic. My son loved the fountain with the goldfish in it. Prices were more than reasonable. I will definitely be back.

Wow! This restaurant is beautiful! From the hospitality, to the decor and the food that taste delicious! It is very new but they have transformed the restaurant from Chans place that was there for decades. I am so excited that we officially have a Persian restaurant in Issaquah and I plan to be back again and again!

Very enjoyable food. It feels that it was cooked with love. Every dish is very tasty, with the perfect amount of spices, fresh and cooked to perfection. Not overly sweet or not overly fatty. Just one advise - portions are quite big. So be careful when ordering - I could barely breath when finished :)

Everything was amazing! We usually go to their sister store, Kabob Korner, in Lynnwood. Now that this place is open, we will be coming every month!

his place feels like stepping into another world. The warm light, the earthy walls, the quiet calm in the air -- everything invites you to slow down. It's the kind of atmosphere that comforts you before the food even arrives. And when it does, the plates are as beautiful as they are delicious -- full of color, flavor, and care. Diyar Restaurant in Issaquah, was such a pleasant surprise for us!

I was so thankful to discover a delicious and inviting new Persian restaurant open up in the Klahanie center! First thoughts were that decor beautifully highlights their culture, space felt elegant, and warm. Our server was a lady who was also very courteous and friendly as well as attentive throughout the service. The food. We ordered the Kashk-o Bademjan eggplant appetizer which arrived warm and accompanied with pita bread. Divine! Must try. For entree, my spouse and I ordered the Classic Platter for two which comes with Beef Koobideh, Chicken Kabob, Beef Shish Kabob and saffron rice and some roasted tomatoes and onions. The meat was full of flavor without being overly seasoned (well marinated) and cooked perfectly. There was a nice char of the grill on the meat while being tender and juicy inside. The saffron rice was a terrific side to enjoy the kabobs with, along with roasted vegetables. We will definitely be back again!

I was craving Mediterranean food and didn't feel like cooking after a long day at work. Ordered the beef shawarma plate and a side of the tabbouleh salad. There was a 10-15 minute wait but when I picked up my order I thought the package felt super light so I quickly scanned my order. I was hungry and ready to eat! I was surprised how "small" the order of tabbouleh salad was. For $6.50 it was just 2 bites. It was basically a thin layer spread on the bottom of the box. I used to order this and it was probably 3x the amount. The beef shawarma plate was ok. I used to love their rice but it didn't taste the same. Their hummus is very good. The beef was a little dry and cut very thin. I didn't think it was worth $30 (before tip). At least their hummus is always good and consistent.
