I used to love this place and it's been about 5 yrs or more since I've been here. Sadly, this visit will be my last as it was highly disappointing! First of all, I came in here because of an advertisement I saw on IG for the Crabfest in Oct 2025. The Crabfest is only weekly specials for the month of October and nothing really special. I feel the advertisement did not explain enough of what Crabfest meant for this business. We ordered a Crabfest bucket to share(party of two). The bucket costs a little over $200 and it comes with 1/2 lb of Dungeness, snow, and king crab with shrimp, fried soft shell crab, corn, sausage, and potatoes. They had no corn and offered to substitute it with another side, which ended up being fries (NO CORN FOR A SEAFOOD BOIL BUCKET ?!). The king crab should have been thrown out the night before, it was stale and tasted off. The potatoes were hard, the sausage could have been cooked longer, the seafood should have been hotter than how it was served. The establishment needs to be more attentive to how the food is served and its temperatures. The prices are not worth the food quality or amount on the dishes. I do not recommend this establishment as there are better options for seafood on the island.

I'm not normally one to come back and update a few times. But this really deserves it. The business reached out to me in the kindest way to apologize for what happened on our visit. We went back a couple times and enjoyed their bbq. Their bbq and sides are fantastic. Their corn bread can't be beat! I'm still a little afraid to try things off the actual menu, but again, the bbq is amazing, so I don't see a reason to. The service had seemed to get better, and that was so nice to see. It had redeemed itself so much that when a last minute promotion came up, and we needed a place that could hold 30+ people easily, I gave them a call. Ivory was so kind and helpful! She made sure we were all good to go, and let us pre order appetizers to come out as soon as people were showing up. They reserved the entire back patio for us. 37 people showed up, and we had the best time. The service was amazing. The food we pre ordered came out right on time, and was delicious! They checked in so often to make sure that all was good. Truly wonderful service. I'm really glad we have it another shot. We will be back.

I came here for the crab fest but was disappointed because 3 of the items were sold out. I ended up ordering snow crab and king crab and skipped on the dungeness crab since that's too much work to eat. I came around 2:30pm and all the seats inside were taken so we sat on a table in the patio. The patio is covered but it got real hot with the afternoon so some of us got a tan on our back and legs. The staff took a very long time to take our drink order and when they finally took it, we waited another 15 minutes to get the drinks. We weren't a big group so it was odd that it would take that long for drinks. We ordered our food and waited another 30 minutes. The food came out and it was hot so that's good. The snow crab was very good but the king crab was overcooked and it was dry. We're just glad we had butter so we drenched the king crab meat. Their prices are reasonable but they need to work on their service and the bar and kitchen needs to speed it up. I wish they cleared the tables quicker so we could have moved inside instead of sitting on the patio.

We had a really fun visit to Dixie Grill while watching the eating contest with Raina Huang! My mom, my son, and I enjoyed some food along with the event. My mom had the chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, paired with cheesy grits and mashed potatoes. Every part of her plate was delicious -- a true comfort meal. Our son had the mac n' cheese with French fries, which was wonderful to see made in-house (he has some picky allergies, so this was a huge plus!). I tried the Crab Cake Burger with a side of fries (I substituted regular fries for the sweet potato fries). While the burger itself was a bit bland and dry, requiring extra mayo and wishing for lemon wedges at the end, the overall experience was still enjoyable. One odd thing: my son's fries portion was about double mine! The restaurant was lively, and the event made the visit extra fun. I'm excited to come back and try more of their menu -- their fish and chips looked amazing at a neighboring table. Overall, a fun outing with tasty options, even if a few small tweaks could make the meal even better.

Well...if I happened to have picked a time to go out on my birthday, today was that day. This time, I went to take my family over to Dixie Grill, and this time tried something different there. It was pretty busy, but you can certainly tell it was no ordinary Saturday, given how many people were eating at the time. The appetizers weren't too bad. We ended up getting the shrimp and the fried okra. The okra was very addictive and the shrimp was nice. Last time I remembered coming here, it was for the catfish. That time, I ate the 1/2 rack of ribs with coleslaw and brussel sprouts. And from first impression, it looked nice to want to dig in. My family had ordered a bunch of different stuff. My sister got the catfish, my mom got the crab cake, and my dad ordered the brisket. Overall, it was not a bad return to this place. Once again, Dixie Grill delivers on the food. Not bad at all. Maybe next time, I should consider trying out one of their desserts because it would have been nice to enjoy my birthday on a good note. Thanks Dixie Grill for making me a happy patron there.

lots of free parking on the weekend when we went for lunch. staff seated our group of 7 quickly. we got all kinds of items from the menus. drinks were good and they had metal music playing was happy to see my friends! my faves were the beef brisket with different sauces. i like hawaiian sauce da most. the rest wasnt my fave but uf u like deep fried stuff... this might be your joint. also the server accidentally dropped a sauce off the plate behind me and when it hit da ground it splashed on my calf. nothing to cry about but meh.

After hiking nearby we dropped by this restaurant to try it out. Like the indoor outdoor feel of the place near Pearl Harbor. The outside has large picnic tables and umbrellas, the interior has a lively sport bar feel with music playing in background. Friend ordered burger and fries and I ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs with coleslaw and Brussel sprouts as my sides. Friend liked her burger, they brought 6 different bbq sauces to our table to try. We did a mini tastings of the sauces on her fries. I have a mixed review on my rib meal. Really liked the Brussel sprouts, tasty seasons. Cole slaw average, would have liked it with a little more vinegar flavor. Ribs were on dry side, overcooked, I was disappointed with them. We ordered food to take home to our husbands. A Philly Cheese for mine, he enjoyed the huge sandwich, the bread was slightly dry. I would give them another try in future.

Salad with blue cheese and sliced turkey(they were out of some stuff and made this as a thank you)

Service was great, atmosphere was what I wanted (laid back but fun). We went on a rainy night for a husband/wife date and watching the rain through the open air patio gave Southern Alabama/Mississippi/Louisiana vibes for me. Food was great although they were out of some things, they were very nice and the replacements were great!

It was my first time here, and I ordered the Big Ed burger. Overall, the flavor was good. I liked the brisket! However, the bacon tasted a little burnt. The burger was also a little dry, and I felt like there could have been some sauce or something to balance out all the meats. I also felt like the serving of fries was a little underwhelming. The service and vibes of the restaurant though were spectacular! My server was great and took great care of my whole party. I'll definitely give them another shot, but probably earlier in the day.

If you're craving southern food, this place has lots of great options! The food was pretty good and the service was friendly. Definitely order the catfish and the green beans!!!

Had a $50 gift card from What a deal Wednesday (spend $25, get $50). It's not worth it. Food lacked flavor. I don't think there's much thought into preparing some real BBQ here. Service was pleasant but can't say I'll return with these food options & lack of taste.

I never been there before so my family decided since it was my birthday they wanted to take me somewhere I never been before and I'm picky as hell so we went there, staff was great and the place and food was great, also it was good place cause we had the grandkids with us and they got a place where the kids could play, it was a different experience but I will go back there again

Menu had a wide range from seafood to BBQ meats. The fish and chips were really crisp. The BBQ was tender and they had 6 sauces to choose from for different regions of the US, which was a lot of fun! We particularly enjoyed the brisket and the frickles! The firecracker shrimp was not the best or the most crispy unfortunately. Fun, chill atmosphere for a party and get together with friends. For a larger party, service can take a little while so be prepared for that. Outdoor seating and indoor seating. No A/C so it was a little bit hot even with fans. Lots of parking.

Do they still have fried green tomatoes? I can't find it on the menu. Thanks!

Is the outside seating, dog friendly?

Service dogs only for the entire restaurant - inside or outside

    Do they serve brunch?

I don't think they serve brunch per Dr. They are open at lunchtime and I think their menu is the same for lunch and dinner.

Have been meaning to check out this spot for a minute but just hadn't been able to until today…read more I stopped by here at 11am on Saturday after a hike. It was "crowded" in that there is a very limited dining area and out door seating area. We managed to snag a table by asking another couple if they were using both of their tables which were put together. Fortunately they weren't. If you're outside, it's also super loud because of the traffic. Probably goes without saying but if you're on a first date or whatever perhaps not the most ideal spot. So we stood in line. Make sure to grab a menu while you're there if you don't have it pulled up on your phone. I ordered fish taco (singular)...i guess they don't do three for whatever like many other places do. That's fine. My date ordered the Tostada de Atun (tuna). And then I ordered a 16oz ceviche to go. I guess I assumed the ceviche would be fish, but i think it's shrimp. Everything was tasty, especially the ceviche. If it was regular fish ceviche, it would have been 20/10. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp and it was still a solid 9/10. The fish taco was fine, if a bit under seasoned. And I think my date enjoyed her tostada. Would totally recommend this place to anyone.

Around 10:20 a.m., one couple showed, but at 11:00 when they opened, it was still only just our two parties in line. Five minutes before they opened, the waitress actually came out to take our order so they could get a head start on our orders (and because they felt bad that we had been waiting for so long outside). If you're stopping by early to wait, just be prepared to brave the hot sun, as there's no awning, trees, or shade to hide under. My wife ordered the Matsu bowl, while I ordered the Miyabi -- their Kaisen bowl with two pieces of tuna, negitoro, a sweet shrimp, three pieces of scallop, salmon roe and tobiko. We both opted to add the soy marinated egg. Many reviewers have mentioned that the uni doesn't really add much to the experience and I'd have to agree with them. The uni is fine, but it's not worth the extra splurge over the base bowl in my opinion. What makes Totoya a memorable experience for me was the high quality of all the ingredients. I loved the sweetness and tenderness of the shrimp and the scallop, and the negitoro had multiple layers of texture throughout. The fluffy rice is perfectly cooked and the soy marinated egg yolk oozes a wonderful richness that nicely complements the fish. If you want to change up the flavor profile even more, there is also fresh sesame seeds available at the table you can grind in as well. The kaisen bowls here definitely hold their own compared to the ones I had in Hokkaido last year -- absolutely delicious! I would not hesitate to stop by Totoya again if I'm in Oahu.

Everything we ordered was authentic, flavorful, and incredibly fresh. My favorite was the toro nigiri, rich and buttery, and it melts in your mouth. The service was great and I am already looking forward to my next visit!

There is something deeply confusing about Mitch's Fish Market & Sushi Bar…read more Not bad confusing.Worse. Identity-crisis confusing. Because the fish?Excellent. Cold, clean, glistening with that dangerous little shimmer that tells you somebody in the supply chain actually cared. You can taste the quality immediately. The kind of quality that silences a table for half a second. And credit where it is due: almost everything I tried ranged from very good to genuinely great. But then the room begins speaking. And suddenly the spell breaks. The atmosphere feels like someone took a serious sushi counter, stripped away all sensuality, all elegance, all ritual, then dropped it inside a fluorescent island diner where exhausted civilians came to discuss parking validation and Costco receipts. It is the culinary equivalent of wearing a Rolex with orthopedic sneakers. The contradiction never stops humming beneath the experience. You sit there eating beautiful fish while surrounded by an energy that feels strangely... transactional. Heavy. Casual in the least flattering way. A room with no mystery. No seduction. No gravity. Like Zippy's accidentally wandered into the tuna trade and struck gold. And on an island like Oahu, where atmosphere matters almost as much as the fish itself that becomes a real problem. Because sushi is not merely consumption. It is theater.Restraint.Texture.Whispered precision. The best sushi spots on Oahu understand this instinctively. They understand that exceptional fish alone is not enough. You are paying for transportive experience. For mood. For elegance. For the feeling that the evening exists slightly outside ordinary life. At Mitch's, the fish reaches for Tokyo while the room drags you back toward a tired strip mall off the freeway. And then there's the crowd. Not evil people. Not rude people. Just an oddly low-rent energy orbiting genuinely premium seafood. The kind of room where one table is eating remarkable otoro while another feels one argument away from discussing used-car financing over soy sauce packets. It creates dissonance. Especially considering the prices. Because at those prices, you begin comparing the full experience not merely the fish quality and that is where Mitch's stumbles hard. There are multiple sushi spots across Oahu that equal or surpass the seafood while also delivering beauty, atmosphere, intimacy, and actual emotional texture. So what remains is this strange contradiction: Mitch's serves fish far above the dignity of its own ambience Which almost makes it fascinating. Would I be back - no . You can get same and better quality fish, much better vine, better part of town for the same Price.
