As soon as I walked in one lady looked at me all crazy, she said something to the other co-worker and had me sit with the another lady to start my set, the lady began Literally ripping my nails off with an acrylic nail, she didn't even ask me what method I preferred, she then began telling me that this was a method "SHE PREFERRED", I told her I wanted to soak the rest because the method she was doing was hurting and the initial reason I got my nails done with gel was to retain my length. She then told me she couldn't help me and closed the shop and started recording me record her after a bystander seen me angry!!!! This is by far the most expensive and dishonest nail salon I have been to. They do not post prices and severely overcharge, also charge differently for the same thing each time. I had a gel pedicure and my daughter needed a fill with one mail repaired. The nail tech insisted that she have hers removed and replaced, then charged her for removal and a new full French manicure set without letting me know the difference in price. Her friend who had the exact same set with a French manicure had hers done at another salon the same day and only paid $50 for a FILL, which looked great. They charged me $169 plus a 3% fee for using my debit card. The worst part is we had been here one other time a year ago and had the same pedicure/full set, both with a design and were only charged $115. To make matters worse, she started to remove my previous gel polish with a drill and when she began burning through my natural nail, I asked her to soak them off. She did this for only a minute, the literally tore the rest of the polish off, extremely damaging my natural nails! I asked her to soak them longer to avoid further damage, but she didn't know English and proceeded to l damage all of my natural nails. I am a health care practitioner and question if they actually even sanitize their instruments to safety standards. We definitely will not be going back! read more

This salon destroyed my nails. One star is generous of yelp to offer, I wish I could give them 0/5. I came in to get acrylics removed and he tried to just take them off with the acrylic nail shoved underneath trick. I told him to stop I obviously want to soak them. Notice how he didn't even offer for me to soak my nails he wanted to just rip them off when they were only a week and a half grown out... He lets them soak for a short two minutes before starting the torture again. My nails are always brittle after removing acrylics but this is as bad as they have ever been. A good majority are all splitting in the middle, brittle, flimsy, and sore. This nail salon should be put out of business. read more

Not the place it used to be. The new owners just give out appointment times and do not use them. We always call days ahead to make a weekend appointment. All 3 times we've went under this new management it's taken us 3 1/2-4 hours past our 'appointment time'. We walked out on Sunday because we made an appointment for 3 pedicures and watched 2 ladies walk in before us. They helped them first. If you are going to offer appointments make sure you have enough employees there to work your appointments and walk-in. While waiting with Luke-warm water and no jets turned on, all 5 seats are full, a lady walks in for her 2:15 appointment. I would not recommend this place! Unless you have 3-5 hours to spare for an overpriced mediocre pedicure. read more

When I arrived at my appointment time, two other customers were waiting for the same time slot, and no techs were ready. Every nail tech was early in the process of working on their respective customers, so I could tell it would be awhile. I was told to wait with no other information. There were only 2 chairs and so I had to stand while I waited. The smell of acetone was overwhelming and the salon was hot. I wasn't given any update about the wait after 15 minutes, so I told the woman that greeted me I would come back another day. She didn't acknowledge me. The bad: place smells like a dentist shop no ventilation felt like I was at a chemical plant. Super pushy on trying to get you to do gel mani pedi. They ignore people of color and pay uncomfortable levels of attention to their white customers! It had been a while since I pampered myself with a manicure and pedicure, and I decided to check this place out (based off the reviews and location). I received service immediately. I was the first customer that day, so that helped! The person who gave me the mani and pedi was friendly; asked appropriate questions, and seemed like she was interested in me (outside of my overgrown cuticles). I did feel a little pressure to get the gel nail polish though. She asked me twice. Word of advice: Bring cash with you to tip with. Adding it on the credit card transaction reduces the amount that they receive. Scheduled an appointment with my sister for pedicures, right when the shop opened. It started with only 1 tech for 2 pedicures so we were going to have to go 1 at a time. I think I finally found my new nail place. After a couple of so-so experiences in the hood, third time's the charm with Divine Nails. I was a little worried when I called to make an appointment since much was lost with the language barrier. But they seemed to be expecting us when we arrived and had enough staff to handle our appointments and other clients (unlike at Paradise Nails http://www.yelp.com/biz/paradise-nails-saint-paul#hrid:y3ha1aQYI6frhVD-a1yvGQ/src:self). We were each quite pleased with the pedicure services. The tech got out the "cheese grater" for my boyfriend and really made a dent in his calluses. The guy doing my nails was meticulous and did a really nice job. He even did the unthinkable and -- gasp -- made small talk with me! And he revealed some skill, experience, and pride in the craft by declaring his like and dislike of certain colors, brands, and styles. He was also the first person in MN to cut my nails *before* filing them, thank goodness. Everything at Divine Nails seemed clean, the staff were friendly, and I'm sure this is where I'll be making my next pedi appointment. Do note there is an extra charge for the cheese grater. After bouncing around 4 nail shops near my home, I settled on Divine nails and have been a loyal customer for 3 years. I'm always pleased with my gel polish manicures and pedicures, especially when I get a design. When I leave, I feel like a new woman! They always do such a nice job, and during sandal season, I'm proud to show off my feet. I also love the gel polish selection, and the creative ideas the owner and staff have. I always get compliments on my manicures! Divine Nails did a fantastic job handling my daughter's wedding party and family members. With a little planning, there was enough staff to handle the large crowd (8 of us descended on the store). Time for an update! Last time I was here, was annoying! They were not busy, and I still waited over a half hour for someone to finally come to me! It was an older lady. The water was cold, the selection of polish sucks unless you want bring brown or red. This time around no one was really friendly. I asked for the sea salt pedicure, and she didn't run my feet. Now I don't wanna seem like a snob but that's one of my favorite parts of a pedicure! Then when I showed her the design she asked to hold my phone and almost dropped it in the water. The design was easy. My friend had Andy, the owners son, if I ever go back he is the one I want. So much attention to detail on my friends deluxe gel pedicure! Not impressed. I've been doing my nails for quite some time now and have gone to numerous nail salons and this one---I am a bit disappointed---wait, I'm quite disappointed. I get gel nail polish so that I have a strong enough nails for my work. I pride my nail bed for being strong and thick, and what I experienced here is very disappointing. While taking off my nail polish, she practically sand down my nail bed as if she planned on doing acrylic nails. I am so pissed. I was going to go to the place in the Maplewood Mall but it had too many bad reviews. I stopped in Divine Nails after reading more reviews. I got a $30 pedicure with callous remover. The foot and leg massage alone was worth it. The polish was a little rushed and can see some on the skin below one toe...but seriously I'm not annoyed..I'm just being obsessive. I love this place. The prices are good, customer service is always great, and it's CLEAN. I'm a huge clean freak, so I love how nice and clean the salon is. My manicures and pedicures always turn out nice and I'm never not satisfied whenever I come here. The owner is so nice and her son, Andy, is an amazing nail technician. The manicure didn't include any type of lotion or hand massage, which I thought was quite odd. I was charged less than the full price listed on the coupon so I wasn't able to use it. Then when I checked my credit card statement, they added a tip onto my payment despite me writing in 0 because I left them cash for a tip. My nails look great, but will not be going back. read more

Went there on the February 28th with my stepmother. I asked for a full set only ($30), she asked for a pedi, mani, and a full set and the lady said it was supposed to be about $70. They got 2 pedicure stations set up and had us get in it, I just decided to just get the pedi ($30) instead then. I paid and left a $12 tip. I left afterwards to drop a friend off quick. While I was gone I got a call saying that my mom needed $10 more because the lady that was doing her nails wasn't listening and ARGUED with my mom saying that she didn't say that she wanted a full set (while when the lady first started doing her nails, she turned to a coworker and completely ignored my mother while doing so) and to make her nails longer would cost $10 more. She said, "Call your daughter, she has money. She left $12 tip. Call her." RUDE. AND ON TOP OF IT, she made them longer than she said she wanted, crooked, and messed the painting up. While waiting for my mother to get done, another worker was talking with a client and cussing up a storm. Might have been her friend, but still very unprofessional and not everybody wants to hear that language. My mother had to do her best to fix it all without it looking somehow worse. I then looked online at my bank and my tip SOMEHOW went from $12 to $17, I emphasized 42 dollars and my bank say $47 (HMMM..?) Will never come back, you don't tell your customers one price then change it because you messed it up. read more

My husband and I made an appointment for 2:00,we show up on time-couple minutes to spare and one person-the owner I think,starts my husband's pedicure-and 25 minutes later they want to do mine. I cancelled mine and wasn't happy because when you make a reservation and you go in with someone-you'd expect to be done at the same time. Someone came in for an eyebrow wax and the owner told her it would be about 7 minutes-I looked at my watch and they still hadn't done her eyebrows and it had been almost 20 minutes. Poor management!! Today was my first (and last!) visit to Divine Nails. They had a coupon in the mail, but prices posted in the window were the same price, so the coupon didn't actually save me anything. It was very loud. The gal working on me and the gal next to her were talking to each other, fairly loudly... (in part because the TV was also loud)... and not in English. Almost non-stop! And finally I said something. (Note: Not a good idea to say something until you're ready to go out the door). She was snotty to me the whole rest of the time I was there. Very poor customer service. Nail service was average at best, certainly not worth going back again. Getting a pedicure is kind of a treat, I would really like to find a nail salon with a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Paint job was patchy and could of used another coat. My acrylics were good until two days after they broke. I was annoyed so I just took the rest off with easy. Don't think they should come off that easy... My nail tech also told me my old set was bad so practically got a new set when i wanted a fill. This was my first visit and my last. All of my nails were uneven. She shaped them the first time and ask me were they fine, I had her make the a little shorter because they were too long for my taste. She clipped them with an attitude and didn't even put each finger next to eachother to make sure they were the same length. She shaved down my nail bed too much and after the process it would hurt when I bend my fingers. She rushed through the whole process not even pushing my cuticles back. The design that I want was plan with 2 fingers having 2-3 hearts on them and they ended up not even looking like hearts. I was also over priced charged for gel polish which I did not get and some other miscellaneous thing. The only positive thing about this experience was having a girls day with my best friend and the color I chose for my nails. Everyone was very friendly except the woman who did my nails. This isn't my normal salon but I went there last week for a full set in a pinch for time. I paid $40 dollars for the set... She cut them way to short for me, which isn't really problem for me anymore since the rest will play out the tip of the nail doesn't go all the way across some of my real nails so the acrylic indented all over and some of the acrylic is flattened weird instead of rounded down at the top into the tip like it should be... Unnoticeable unless you're me close enough to tell. And if that isn't enough it hasn't even been a full week yet and almost all of my nails are coming off. I live in Arizona now and was home for a visit, so I can't even go back to fix them :/ kicker is... My friend was with me, had a different person do hers and everything about my nails is also true with hers; we definitely won't be going back, ever. read more
