The quality is not the worst. I have never had a gel nail fall off after 4 hours after service, and second one just peeled off. I find their customer service to be off. They said they welcome walk ins. But the woman working at 10 am this morning said I don't schedule call number. He will answer and tell you what time. That was the first ick. The second ick after finishing my nails was if it comes off I'll fix for you. Why? I have never had gel nails fall off before?! read more

Disclaimer... I haven't been there in 8 weeks (geography issues) and my nails are trash because I tried someone else. This isn't your usual walk-in quality salon. Listen... they do walk ins when able but also there's so much more to this place... let me explain. The first time I went they had a sign on the door apologizing for having to close early. This was just after new management took over. I'm not sure the circumstances but it has never happened again. I wasn't planning to go back but the owner left me a message (because I had called inquiring about business hours and had left a message) stating that he would give me a discount for any inconvenience since he was not able to be open during normal business hours. I am so happy I went back!!! My initial services were fabulous. So much so that even though I moved two states away 9 months ago, I still go back because I have yet to find anything event near equivalent in a nail salon. Ladies and gentlemen... EVERY SINGLE TRIP BACK To Minnesota I make time to get my nails done at GT nails. I'm always getting compliments. Henry (the owner) introduced me to Dip and the way I live and work, I never thought nice fingernails were in my cards but he has found a combination of dip/gel that keeps my nails from cracking and chipping for months - literally my nidus for manicure is that my nails are too long and grown out - and I'm a picker when stressed in a high stress job. Mai always does my pedis because she's an absolute boss and her massages are to die for - ladies and gents, go for pearl!!!!!! She's meticulous and often reminds me that "the part I like is starting" so that I put away distractions and relax. Yes, everyone speaks English. You will be able to communicate with these amazing folks because they've worked to make that happen for you. Furthermore... I was flying in on Christmas Eve and inquired about their holiday hours wondering if I could squeeze in a manicure since I really didn't like my manicure from the place near where I'm living now. The owner offered me an appointment only for me to realize that he'd opened the shop specifically for me and they would've otherwise been closed. I had flawless nails for my Holliday parties thanks to the owner coming in on his day off and going out of his way for me. That is to say, they definitely take care of their regulars! You'll never have better nails nor service... walk in if you're feeling lucky (good odds) but they're great and accommodating enough that you should just make an appointment and secure your place in line. read more

Came in for a pedicure. Pedicure was very good. Then came this awesome interaction: Pedicurist: You wax eyebrows? I've gone here once and I wasn't overly impressed. The appearance of the place is a bit shady - untidy and poorly lit. Not dirty though, I will note that - it was clean, just messy. The girls who work in their are friendly and talkative while doing your nails. They work pretty fast, but do a decent job. My polish lasted about 2 days before chipping - which is a long time for me. The one thing I didn't like was how they "repair" nails - typically in other salons I've gone to they've done a THIN layer of acrylic or even just some glue. At this salon they loaded my nail in need of repair down with acrylics and it looked horrible and thick. Great nails would the last place I'd go back to, but in a pinch, I'd go. read more

Rose does the most awesome pedicures and Chris is great if you want your fingernails done. I wont go anywhere else

Went there and the owner did my gel manicure. Was rushed to get done and was not anything like any manicure I've gotten before. Every time I put my hand under the UV light he would remove my hand before the cycle was finished leaving my nails extremely spongy and dull looking. Just 10 minutes after leaving the salon it looks like I need to have them redone because they are so signed up from not being dried properly. Would not go back. read more

I've been going there for a few months since I moved to the St Paul area. Fast, friendly service. I have a bit of fungus on my thumbs from a previous salon and they pay special attention to these nails so they look fantastic. I get gel nails and LOVE all the different gel polishes they have! So much better than a nail shop just south of 94 that costs an arm & a leg that I went to once when I was shopping around for a new shop before I found this one. read more
