I decided to give builder gel a try. So I go and get them done , within two days the first nail had popped off like a sticker and then the following two days I had two more nails come off. I went back and asked for a reimbursement. Since I knew more were going to come off and they were not done correctly, meaning that I'd need to either damage my nails further with either a full set or gel. Either option they have to buff my nails again. The lady came around the glass asap, she was so quiet and she'd done this ~Duh, on purpose. Then she grabbed my hands so she could see without asking and holding g hard enough I had to yank my hands away, reporting that I just want a reimbursement. She said she would help me and asked me to sign in. So I signed in at the Little kiosk thinking my profile was needed to get a reimbursement. Nope. She was trying to get me to sit down so she could redo the nails that were missing. I told her I did not want to do that and wanted a refund. She stood up and went closer to me whispering again that she would fix it for me. I said great. She walked to the chair gesturing me to sit. Dude no. Come on. I asked her, that since she said she would fix it if she knew how to reimburse me. Whispering she said no and pointed towards a loose-leaf taped paper near the register that said they were not obligated to provide any services or returns per establishment discretion. The very next day, another nail popped off.

I used to go several times a year for a pedicure. With the very high pedicure prices now, I only go when I'm getting ready to leave on a vacation, once a year. What brings me to writing this review, twice now, I've been charged extra for having my toes polished with more than just one color. I like to color my second toe on each foot a different color. It's been the same lady each time , charging me extra. Never, had any of the other ladies , in all my years, charged me extra for polishing my toes with more than one color. Is it more costly to polish one toe with another polish? Is it that much more work ? Is it more time consuming? Is it that bothersome? I wanted to ask for my tip back, to cover for the extra charge. How about a bottle of water or a can of pop to cover that extra charge? (They never offer a bottle of water or can of pop either!) From now on, if I see that I have that same lady, that feels the need to charge extra for two toes to be polished a different color, I will ask for someone else, or just leave.

The Salon Not sure how long they've been around, but the people there have only owned it for a little over a year at the time of this review. They were THE sweetest salon I've ever been to! I've been to a few other local salons and have felt like I was bothering them or they were annoyed that I said ow when they were basically burning my nail when removing old gel nails. Gel Nails are a blend of dip and gel polish. It took under an hour for the whole process (nail prep to finish). AND THEY CAN FILL THEM!! No more ripping/sanding off old dip to put new on. She also did not wipe or prep the nail surface between dremel/filing and the gel base coat. I asked if they needed to be wiped to remove dust, but she thought I was asking to cut them shorter, so I didn't continue to press. I worry this lack of surface prep will lead to poor adhesion, but time will tell.

She basically rounded out my toenails and kept digging deeper. This is like the perfect cut to create an ingrown toenail and lucky me it's on all of my toes. I'm hoping this isn't the norm, but I am extremely disappointed and annoyed with my experience.
