I was there for 4 hours and my pedi looks good but my nails are embarrassing. I wanted a nice pink with cats eye details on the tips done in coffin style without the big hump on the cuticle. What I walked out with was square, blocky and thick nails completely covered in cats eye that looks horrible for a wedding today. The guy who did my nails groaned out loud about having to do acrylics and took off the acrylic I had on thinking he would just give me a manicure since he did not do acrylics. Then we settled on the dip instead which came out way to thick. One of the worst nail jobs I have ever had and not appropriate for a conservative wedding. read more

I've been a Diva Nails customer for over 8 years now. I started by going to two other locations in Northville until finally coming to Novi (the others have closed). I have always had Johnny do my manicures and various staff have done my pedicures. My gel shellac manicures easily last 3+ weeks. The pedicures are very relaxing, as they have massage chairs for you to sit back and enjoy. Doesn't matter which staff member does the pedicure - they have always been wonderful! I like that they open fresh sanitized tools for each customer, so I never have to worry about the tools or other equipment being clean. They also have a plastic liner for the pedicure tub of water for an added measure of cleanliness. They have a wide variety of colors to choose from, so give yourself a little extra time before your appointment to look through the options. The prices are right on target with other salons, if not a big cheaper (gel shellac is $25 and gel pedicure is $52 at the time of this review Jan. 2023). I would recommend scheduling an appointment otherwise it is a hit or miss with how long the wait time is for walk ins. Highly recommended! You won't be disappointed! read more

I LOVED this nail salon! I don't usually go here, but I needed a same day appointment and they were able to fit me in. I'm pretty sure this is going to be my go to place for nails now. In the past I'd rate this place a 5 star! I used to come to this location all the time to get full sets and fills, and pedicures. I stopped getting my nails done and decided I wanted to get back into it and figured diva always did so good might as well go back. So I called and made a same day apt which was very nice and accommodating. I asked for a full set with shellac polish and chrome. Walking in it was very clean and quiet with nice music playing, very relaxing space. However, I felt that this apt was very rushed and the service/application wasn't done as good or as thorough as it should have been for $75.00 (not including tip). what I asked for was way different than what I got, I'll insert the inspo pics that I showed the nail tech. They used a white tip instead of the clear one, that keep in mind took up half my nail and then used that as the french tip (I've gotten french here multiple times in the past and it's always been hand painted, thin and perfected.. not done the lazy way). So I paid 75$ for acrylics with shellac and chrome, and the only shellac I got was a base and top coat.. they didn't even hand paint the french tip..... definitely was ripped off with that one. Also the acrylic wasn't placed all the way down to my cuticles like it should have been and the sides are bare. the pictures I shared are my nails less than 24hrs old. I am very disappointed in the service I paid for, the tech was so kind (I think he was the owner), but the nails are just not it. I definitely feel that I was charged more than I should have been with this service and unfortunately won't be coming back anymore! Im not sure if Kim still works there but she is the best!!! She always took her time with my nails and did hand painted french and all of the detailed designs I'd ask for, she literally would make sure everything was perfect!!!! If she's still there and you decide to make an apt here I'd definitely recommend making it with her!!! She will make sure you leave with what you asked for and good quality nails that will literally last forever! read more

I have been going to the same nail salon for 10 years....but I moved and had to find somewhere new. I went to diva nails after seeing their reviews on yelp. I showed up and hour before closing and asked for a full set and they were happy to take me. The inside is beautiful and the pedicure chairs looked super comfy (I didn't get a pedicure this time, maybe next time). The tables are higher than the tables at most other salons. This was actually pretty nice, I didn't realize until today how hunched over I was at the other places. I showed her a picture and she created it. Other than that, it's your average nail salon. The customer service here is uncommonly good. I would recommend this nail salon to anyone. Update 8/18***** I was immediately contacted after posting this review and picture and they offered for me to come back in and redo my nails. They assured me that this is not how they do business. Honestly this says a lot about their level of professionalism and I will gladly go back and give them another shot! The fact that they even reached out makes me believe that they have a high standard. It's not common to get this kind of customer service in this industry so that alone deserves 5 stars. Nails ended up on the lower end of OK...it might just be the nail tech I had but steps were definitely missed. Had to remind her to put top coat on my toes and there is polish in my cuticles. I will say that she gave the best foot massage I have had in years and I definitely appreciate that. Because of thE foot massage I am willing to go back and give it another shot. So, I dont get my nails done often. I'm a man and happen to be Black. Thats relevant to this review. Wait for it. Went on today and it was superbusy. I checked in with lady who was doing nails but clearly in charge. Several White women came in after me. After waiting 15 minutes she sat the woman who came in after me. I approached bosslady and said "I was next". She replied that I had to wait for someone who wanted to do my nails. What!? Perhaps because I'm male. Perhaps because I'm Black, or both. Heard from a friend that this place so decided to give it a try.. Despite the place being very busy they still took walk-ins and took their time with the customers. I have been to some places that would rush when crowded but not this place. My wife and i have been looking for a steady salon for my 3/year and her 1/per month mani-pedi. I am a mid 30s male born and bred Michigan actor and residential builder. If you are a kind person who cares for others before yourself, these ladies will bend over backwards to make your experience amazing. In our experience, the facility was clean, there was no chemical odors that you would find at other facilities and the price for service was brilliant for what physical work and effort they put into your experience. My mother and I have been here twice now. The first time my mom noticed that for a new place it was not being upkept very well. Nothing had been cleaned very well. We had been there two months ago, and went again today. It was even more noticeable that nothing has been kept up as far as keeping up with just everyday cleaning. It was filthy. Hardly any nail polishes to choose from. I actually had the woman have me sit in the chair and turn it on and it was cold. I let her know then it was hot and almost overflowed I had to say something. Then I realized I didn't even have a jet. My mom had noticed that they had dirty pedicure chairs and I also have to say I didn't love that they reused things on people. Makes me nervous. While they ended up doing a good job, it was just filthy. Too bad it seemed like a nice place and is nice in there. Just even the carpeted areas haven't been vacuumed. Update. The owner votes bad reviews as funny and gets very defensive and private messages you that you must have the wrong location. . Rather than being professional she tries to call you out. I had been coming here for a few weeks. I really liked the salon at first, and the nails..but now I refuse to step foot in their establishment. I received the rudest most disrespect I think Ive ever had, as I was trying to RELAX. As I sat with my hands in the the "nail technician's" hands she started off by RIPPING my current set of Acrylics off with nothing but a pair of TWEEZERS and another Acrylic. As I sat there exclaiming in pain "ow...ow OWW!" She sat there continued and ROLLING HER EYES. What did I come here to do? Get tortured?! As if that wasnt enough AFTER she FINALLY got them all off, I sat back and continued to let her work...."I cant do my job with you sitting so far back!" She snapped. I really couldn't believe how she was talking to me. I wanted to take her hands and bash them up in a tub of nails. Because thats all I felt! Sorry for trying to relax?! My nails at least look decent, but this lady is in the wrong profession. I called and complained to the manager. Decided to leave a more detailed description on my experience! I arrived for my appointment only to be told it would be an additional 20-30 minutes because the other employees decided to go for a Starbucks run. When I told her I couldn't wait, she offered to do a "rush job" if I waited. Or perhaps do the pedicure and come back another day for polish. This is terrible business practice. Someone from this business left an insulting reply. I certainly did not throw a gift card at my dear friend. If I make an appointment, I certainly expect that appointment to be kept and not disregard for a coffee run. However the responder was correct about one thing, they are terrible at maintaining appointments at all locations. They do an average job at best here. I wanted to try this shop since I frequent other stores in the area but after first visit was basically a expedition. They nail tech was asking me numerous questions and not about my nails. I knew another customer and we chatted for a while and after my co-worker left, I was asked how I knew her, where do I work and so forth and since I felt that was none of her business,I evaded her line of questions. Long story short, when I attempted to have her tip added, I was told I couldn't add tip to card. No worries , I came back with cash. The shop is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is friendly. They do excellent work on my fingernails. They use the best products. My nails last forever between fill ins. I used to have to get them every 2 weeks but with Diva nails I can make it a month. I went to another nail place once in Novi because my friend ask me to give them a chance. I ran back to Diva nails. I needed to get my nails done and since I recently moved to the area and had to rely on Yelp! The salon looks fairly new with 8 spas chairs in the back and 8 nail stations in the front. They have a pretty decent selection of nail polish to choose from. Since I was getting a mani and pedi I got to try out their spa massage chairs. Your typical chair, the remote was a bit confusing but they were able to assist. Basic mani and pedi was $42 which seems to be the norm around here. Plenty of parking out front. They are right next to Dickey's bbq. I would be back if I ever need to get my nails done. read more

I have gone to Diva Nails for a long time and love most of the nail techs there but today the service was so bad. I usually have great service and my nails always look great when I leave. Like normal, I got a shellac polish change. Well the man who did my nails was very rough and he rushed his way through not to mention he filed my nails down way too short and did not clean them up as he painted them. This place just isn't the same as it was when it opened. I went here yesterday for a mani/pedi and they just don't do the work they used to. I know they opened a second location in Northville, so maybe all of the original people have moved there... I'm not sure. But my toe polish is already chipping and she never put a top coat over my pedi. My shellac mani looks good but she didn't open the tool package in front of me like they did before... that was one of the main reasons I raved about this place. I don't think I'll be back. I am very particular about my nails, I live in Chicago and go to the same girl every two weeks like clock work. I LOVE coming to Diva Nails in Novi. They were recommended to me by a client at their Haggerty location. From my first experience with the owner (Van), I was greeted by my name and with a glass of Champagne for a Mani-Pedi. I've been a client of Diva since August and I would never go back to my old manicurist. Van, Sara and the staff are always so courteous when I walk in the door. Even if the place is busy, I'm treated like I'm #1 and important. Fast forward to last night, my mom and I decided to walk in around 7:30 to get myself a mani-pedi and her a mani since she has never been there before. It wasn't until the girls started my mani that I didn't even know they close at 7:30. Other shops would have kicked us out and said come back tomorrow or hurried with both of our services. But no. Sarah and the other gal took their time with hot towels, hand and foot massages and still gave us EXCELLENT customer service. So thank you Van, Sarah & the staff at Diva.
