I received a gift card here & scheduled my visit easily online. Upon (early) arrival I was pleasantly surprised by how cute it was inside. I had no wait at check in, was escorted back by a friendly staff member, given a cozy robe/socks & offered beverages & time in the infrared sauna while I waited. My service started on time, and Cara provided an excellent facial. She was friendly, kind & helpful. Checkout was a breeze as well! I've been a customer for at least 10 years. They let me walk out for refusing to sign a legal document before "providing services". Over $50 for a man's haircut is highway robbery, but insisting I sign a legal document to protect them in the event of screwing up was the tipping point for me. Vision's management: You did a great job of teaching the man at the counter to say the document was "no big deal". If that were true, he should have let me decline to sign. You don't care about customer service...only covering your butt. I've received a lifetime of haircuts without waiving any legal rights. Sadly, I will miss my stylist...she is a good person, but her boss has lost all common sense. read more

I have been to several spas, all over Southeast Michigan and this is by far my favorite! We were there celebrating a friend's upcoming wedding, so we all had multiple services done. Massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures. I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried, they were all so relaxing! The massage was 60 minutes long & she was very responsive to my comfort level. The facial was a great mix of information about my skin & relaxation. I have some problem areas around my chin & she was very helpful and knowledgeable. She gave a few suggestions as to what I could try at home without trying to sell any particular product. Lastly, we had our nail services. The large reclining chair made it! We kicked back with a warm blanket and an eye mask while our toes were done. A small table was brought to us to do our hands after and we never had to leave our cozy chairs. It was relaxation from start to finish. Even in between services was nice! We had the choice between the sauna (with frozen grapes & infused water provided) or to hang out in the lobby with snacks, water, and iced tea. Visions provided the perfect day for us. If you are celebrating or just need a day off for yourself, I couldn't recommend this place more highly. read more

Very odd experience, as you can see there is polish over the cuticle ( on several nails), my nails were not filed evenly, over all it very poor $ 39 manicure. The best part was when she was removing some left over nail polish on her nails while my hands were wrapped in a hot towel. I will say the girl at the front desk seemed horrified when I showed her, she told me another girl could fix then in 30 min but I was ready to go and it would be uncomfortable to have someone fix your nails just feet away from the person who just did them. I was told the manager would call me the day after, she never did. Needless to say my first and last visit. read more

I've been going to Visions Spa Salon for years and I've had great services virtually every time. I can't think of one bad experience ever. I'd like to comment on the quality of the staff, array of services, array of products and ambience. So here goes! ~Let's start with the staff. Eyebrow wax/facials: I have gone back to the same people time and time again. I love the way Linda Atkins does eyebrow waxing. She's the best. She's even helped me through hair loss (due to a medical condition that causes hair loss) where she expertly shapes the brow to minimize the impact of the brow hairs that have fallen out. As they grow in, and fall out again, she gives me great advice on how to cover with a pencil or powder. She's great. I also see Jennifer for eyebrow waxing too depending on who is working when my schedule opens up. I highly recommend her too. Mani's Pedi's: Also, I've had mani's and pedi's by Crystal (I think she only works Saturday mornings) and she does a great job. BTW, you can get mani's and pedi's in the salon side (where Crystal is) or the spa side. The latter is a more luxurious (and $$$) experience but well worth it. Give both a try. At least try the spa-side mani or pedi at least once. You deserve it! Makeup: I have had Carrie do my special-occassion makeup a couple of times and when she is done I can't believe what I'm looking at. Wow is all I can say. This woman knows exactly what she is doing. And importantly, she asks lots of questions up front to determine exactly what you want so there are no surprises along the way. Best of all, I still looked like me, but you notice me and not the makeup, even when she did the smokey eyes / soft lip makeup application. When I showed up at the events I had the makeup done for, everyone loved the way I looked. And she keeps a record of what she uses so if you ever want to go back (or buy the products) it makes it very easy to do so. Also, I've been there on days when entire wedding parties have been there for hair or makeup and they always look so beautiful. Special hair styling: I have never had my hair cut/colored/styled here (I go to my childhood friend's salon for that), but I have had Carrie (see makeup above) do my hair for a special occasion. I asked for a soft, sexy updo but not one that looks too formal and ... BINGO ... that is exactly what she did. Carrie is very talented, I must say. And great that if you want hair and makeup styling you can book her back to back, which is what I did. Massages: I get a massage here a few times a year. Although I don't go often, the service is always great and usually with someone new since I almost always call at the last minute and if they have room they take me. If I planned my time better I suppose I could schedule someone specific in advance. They've all been very good. Especially if you tell them you have any problem areas, like tight shoulders, and they'll spend extra time working out the knots so to speak. ~Array of services Visions has an incredible array of services you can choose from. Some, like the mani's and pedi's can be in either the salon or spa side. And from time to time they offer specials, including special email promotions if you subscribe to their email alerts (which of course I do). I really like the signature facial. (I'm on vacation today, heading back up this afternoon for one as a matter of fact). ~Array of products The salon has a ton of different products to choose from, including a line specifically for men. They have shampoos, conditioners, treatments, styling products, nail polishes, fun bath sponges/stuff (make great stocking stuffers). And they even carry a variety of candles and other home decor items right in the main entryway. They used to carry a lot of beautiful jewelry too (which I bought a lot of) including an entire Judith Jack line. Sadly, they don't any more but they do have a few pieces for special occasions including small beaded/sparkly clutches for special occasions as well. ~Ambience Visions is beautiful. It's one of the prettiest (not to mention cleanest, which is important) spas I've ever been in. They have a good eye for detail, decor, color and comfort that makes you feel good as soon as you walk in the door. And that carries all the way through the spa and salon. A few closing comments. As far as pricing goes, Visions is not inexpensive, but then again most European-style spas are not. If you're looking for the quickie manicure in the strip mall, this is not the place to go. Visions is truly a higher-end spa offering a variety of services by people who take their professions quiet seriously. You get what you pay for here and I've yet to be disappointed. read more

Today at 12:00 PM For years I wanted to try this salon so when my current hair salon closed, I booked an appointment for highlight and haircut. When I arrived, I thought I had walked into a gift shop vs. a salon and found the check-in process inefficient and not very friendly. When finally meeting my stylist and discussing options for highlighting, I found they had booked me with a different stylist than what I had requested. She explained that they mixed up the appt., the other stylist was not available and she had to charge me the higher rate. At that point I wanted to walk out, but I was going out of town the next day, and had no time to book another appt. elsewhere. I felt forced into signing up for the higher priced stylist/service and after 1/2 hour of waiting for her to supposedly check with the owner and concluding nothing could be done re: my appt mix up, she began my highlights. The highlights were good but didn't cover gray hairs as requested (she said I should have asked for tinting, seriously?!). The haircut was basic but I've had much better styling. Definitely not worth the $. Checking out was much friendlier, she took the time to listen to my issues, indicating a manager would be contacting me in a few days. Weeks later and no contact. Based on the appt., service mishaps, and no follow up, sadly this will be my first and last visit to this salon. Expected an excellent hair day, but only experienced extreme disappointment. read more

My friend and I had great intentions to have a girls day, scheduling massages at the same time, and then a lunch. We bought each other massage good cards and have been trying to redeem them for the past year. This spa does not have ANY Saturday appointments until next year, and nothing available after 5:00pm during all week nights until next year. I asked for a refund on the gift cards and was told no refunds (which normally I understand but in this scenario, I don't agree). I will never purchase a gift card at this salon again. Meredith, the manager, advised that we are now on a waiting list and will 10 minutes to respond after we receive their text, which can come at any time. We are allowed to be on a waiting list for 30 days, and then need to call the salon directly to renew. Obviously this salon is struggling with staffing. We have made decision to redeem gift cards separately and just go somewhere else. I have booked 2 massages at Evexia Wellness salon in Clarkston (which is gorgeous) on Monday, no problem. I scheduled my massage 3 weeks ahead of time. The masseuse had an emergency and had to cancel day of, which is totally understandable! However, when I called to reschedule the soonest they could get me in was 1 month later. When I said I think I'd have to find a different place because that wouldn't work for me, the receptionist said "have a nice day" and just hung up on me as quickly as possible. read more

I usually don't like getting massages but my mom booked this for me as I was in desperate need of some relaxation after a particularly stressful exam week. I was greeted by a friendly staff who took me to the back to get changed into my robe. It was a very neat and relaxing area with soft music playing in the background but there was only one small changing room with lockers for my stuff. I felt rushed to change quickly so that I wasn't keeping others from changing too. There was iced tea offered in the waiting area but the water was empty. The massage itself (the 60 minute Signature massage) was great-I felt so relaxed and warm and my masseuse kept asking me if I was okay and I appreciated that. Also, I had requested ahead of time that she wear a mask and I was concerned that I'd face pushback on this, but I was happy and relieved when she came out and was wearing her mask. One small complaint: according to online, I was supposed to be offered frozen grapes and time in the sauna after my massage which I was not. Not sure why I wasn't offered this? I would have likely taken advantage of it. read more

Thought I would give this place another try as I had an unused gift card. I called ahead of time to find out about their COVID protocols in place. They told me that the massage therapists wear masks and shields. So I went to my appt walked into the massage room only to find my therapist had nothing!!! No mask and no shield. Upon asking if she was going to have a mask on, she said "no...I'm good." I said, "well I'm not good without you wearing one so can you put one on please." I was SHOCKED to say the least that a therapist performing a service (very closely like that) less than six feet apart, did not have a mask on!! On top of that, the room is very small and she was inches from my face performing a massage. I will not go back to this place! Given them too many chances. read more

As an extremely kind and generous notion, my fiancé's mother and aunt made spa appointments for both myself and one of his cousins. We were to get pedicures at the spa. I had been there once before but it was over five years ago and I just remember it being amazing. One of the few times you're actually able to lay down while you got a pedicure and fall asleep. When you wake up, you are relaxed and your toenails look gorgeous. Upon arrival, there was an incredibly unkind and rude girl working the front desk. When you're spending a decent amount of money to have a relaxing spa experience right around the holidays, you expect to arrive and be greeted with some kind of warmth. This was the opposite. She act annoyed that we were there and wouldn't even escort us back herself. The girl who did bring us back, walked into the back room, we didn't know where we were going so we followed her. She acted annoyed and said "no, wait out here another girl who will be out to walk us to the locker room." The whole thing was kind of weird. I had mentioned it later on tomy fiancé's mom and aunt and they said they had the same kind of rude experience with the same girl the day prior. We got into the women's locker room area and it was very small. One bathroom, one changing room, and a small locker area. When you go out and the relaxation room it's very nice and peaceful. There are snacks, drinks, and a fireplace. There's also a dry sauna to use while you wait. Our pedicures were amazing, just as I remembered. Very relaxing and easy to fall asleep. I would return here for the pedicure any day, but it was very disheartening to have that experience upon arrival. read more

This is the best spa I have found in Michigan. I travel all over the US and have been to fantastic spas and have had a hard time finding a true "spa" in Michigan. I noticed on here a lot of comments about price, but anyone who understands a true spa experience knows that price represents what you get. Every penny you spend here is worth it. Yes, it's expensive to go to a spa instead of a someplace that claims to be a spa but doesn't give the experience that this place gives. I had a wonderful facial and with my sensitive skin I was nervous but she took her time getting to know me and my skin to make sure she picked the right products for me. The waiting area is peaceful and nicely kept. I just wish they would have let me know what areas I could use. I sometimes like to use the sauna after a treatment but I didn't know where it was so I just skipped it. read more

Low end service at high end prices. No customer service. A day later, I still have dye all over my face (a half inch of dye around my entire hairline). Kyleigh spent more time talking about $$ than discussing my desired outcome. She also refused to give me an exact quote because "it depends how many MLs I have to use" ... mind you, I was sitting in the chair. She could have looked at my hair to see how much dye was needed . I came in a year ago to get my hair done for my wedding because my mom really liked this place. . and there must have been a deal or something. Anyway, so the women that did my nails was kind and did a good job. The women who did my makeup I was really shocked how little it seemed she knew about makeup. . I just thought it was weird that a professional didn't do anything to my (hideous) eyebrows, not mention contouring at all, and applied eyeliner in the weirdest cat eye I have ever seen. But the top of the cake was the hair stylist. . she was a HUGE ass. First, she was very rude. Mind you, morning of my wedding. I had come in a week earlier to get my bangs trimmed and met this women and she straight up told me that I look bad with bangs. I didn't want to come back but my mom had already paid. So being told I look bad with bangs before she then needed to remind me on my wedding day that they didn't look very good. Like, thanks? She styled the hair fine and all but she was so rude and obnoxious that even my mom decided she would never come back. So thanks Vision Salon for making my wedding morning sort of crappy. read more

So much has changed in the past year and a half since my last review of Visions. I was heartbroken to learn that my favorite stylist, Anita, no longer works at Visions (I think she is staying home with her baby) and I'm hearing that Sophia, my nail tech left (not sure why). Another issue that has come to my attention over time is that my life's dramas as reported by clients of Visions who know me were being shared in the employee break room by a particular stylist faster than breaking news on TMZ. I love going to a salon/spa to relax, not to worry about gossip and rumors. For that reason, I no longer go to Visions. If you do want to try Visions for yourself then go see Lauren. She was doing my hair while Anita was on maternity leave. She was always very professional and did a nice job on my hair. In addition to her hair styling skills, she is a great matchmaker. She set me up with my BF! I owe her big time! read more

My friends gifted me with a spa certificate to this place. I decided to book the facial, stress back treatment and a shellac manicure. These three services were $284. Everyone was pretty friendly. The services were timely and for the most spot on. I enjoyed the facial most of all and my skin STILL feels hydrated and looks bright (I went 3 days ago). The shellac manicure was nice, however, there is some slight "pooling" near the nail bed. I probably would not opt for the back treatment again and would probably just get a massage. I am going to try to go at least once per month for the hydrating facial. (It was THAT good) read more

I have been a massage client at Visions Salon since 2007. I have also referred many people to the business. I had never received a bad massage until this past week. To begin, I myself am a massage therapist, so I do have experience in what to look for. I paid for an 80 minute, deep tissue massage. The therapist was clumsy and she seemed a novice at the basics, such as placing the bolster and checking in to see how the pressure was being received. Her hands would jerk and abruptly slide off of my body. I couldn't relax or settle into the work. She would also deeply massage bone. It was painful, and stressful. To be fair, I did not correct her or tell her to alter her "style". However, I knew that I was working with a novice when she didn't move the bolster or check in with the pressure. I did speak to a manager immediately after the massage. She told me that she would speak to the owners and get back to me by the end of the day. 2 days later I followed up with an email. 9 days after the massage she called to tell me that after speaking with the owners, they decided that they would not be offering me any sort of refund or incentive to return, as this was the first complaint about this therapist. I mentioned to the manager that I was disappointed with that decision, as I had been a client for 12 years. I told her that I would not be returning and that I would be both writing a review, and contacting the clients that I had referred to the salon. The entire experience was dismal. I do not recommend this place; especially after the horrible customer service that was received. read more

The services are great but the business is absolutely horrible! They made a mistake on billing - realized they made a mistake and did not credit my account and said it was my problem that I didn't have enough overage money in my account. I had to pay overdraft bank fees because they made a billing error. The manager said it was my problem even though they had the wrong credit card number. They never even offered to remedy the situation they caused by even offering an amount towards a service as a credit. This is a bad business. read more

I was a new client and requested a trim and baylage on my natural red hair. The stylist was nice and kind and talked to me the whole time. My color was pretty good, I definitely needed a toner and she never applied one. I also wanted the back of my hair trimmed to do an A line bob and it was sort of a hack job. I ended up going back the next day for a re-do of the cut it was so bad. Thankfully the new stylist fixed it all up. The color I faded myself with a special shampoo. For $162 It was pricey and ai was a bit disappointed. read more
