I kept asking the lady if the tools were sterilized, she said they are supposed so I shouldn't worry. But I saw her putting all the tools in a small box inside a drawer and keep taking them out. Also she had a box full of filers and buffers she kept using. It looks like they don't use sterilized tools. I am worried. One should never get their nails done by them. Horrible, horrible place. I gave this place two chances, and they messed up pretty big both times. The first time, I had an appt that I arrived on time for (maybe even a few min before), and they didn't see me until 20 min last my appt time. I let it go though, and tried to enjoy my pedicure. I got the luxury pedi with callous treatment. They scraped my feet so badly that I could barely walk for a week. I had deep, extremely painful cuts all over. Fast forward to today... about 2 months later... I decided to give them another shot. I called yesterday and made an appointment for a dip manicure, and another luxury pedicure. I arrived a few min before my appt time, and when I walked in, I let the lady at the closest desk to the front know that I was there for my appt. She asked what I was having done, so I told her, and she said (in a VERY RUDE tone) "you said you wanted a regular manicure!" I told her that was incorrect... that I wanted a dip manicure, and she continued to argue me to the death. I ended up just saying it was fine... I would take the regular mani, but I did, in fact, tell her I had wanted dip. I sat down and waited a few minutes, and by this time, it was well past my appt time. I asked her how much longer it would be until I would be seen, and she said 5 min. It was already 15 min past my appt time at this point, and I was already fuming from the altercation. I almost got up and left, but really really needed a pedi... so I stayed. A few min later, she told me to go sit in a chair. I sit down, and she yelled at me to go pick a color. I don't do well with confrontation, so I just froze, and sat there. Then a different woman walked over and literally threw a huge pile of gel nail colors onto my lap. Again... I was frozen... like, is this really happening??? She then brought me water to soak my feet in, and real shocker here... the water was cold. I was just about to ask for a towel to dry my feet off and leave, but she started working on me, so I stayed. The rest of the mani/pedi was fine... until the end. I had asked for the same gel color on my hands and toes, but they just did regular polish on my toes. Because they started so late after my appt time was supposed to start, I didn't have time to have them re-do my toes, so I left it alone, but it's not at all what I wanted. As I was paying, I asked the girl who rang me up if my toes were still wet or dry, and she didn't understand what I was saying. Then the rude later from earlier stepped in and again... in the absolute RUDEST tone EVER said "what did you say???" I repeated myself... are my toes still wet? Or are they dry? She again yelled at me and said they would take an hour at least to fully dry. I don't have a lot of time on my hands... I work FT and have two small kids. When I make an appt, I expect the time to be respected. Further... when I do make the time for a nail service... it's an hour to myself that I VERY seldom get and when I do... want it to be a nice, pleasant, relaxing experience. This was anything but that. Even if this place had the best prices in town, I wouldn't return. But the fact that I paid $140 for this totally crap service, just adds insult to injury. I agree With several of the other reviews that say "the shop is outdated" and yes it can appear to be cluttered. It's always bustling with lots of clientele and yes, and it is a bit on the pricier side. But I will say I have never been dealt with In a more friendly & courteous manner - each time I've been. My nails always look fabulous... thin like I request I hate fat chunky nail gel when applied too heavily (has never happened here) they're durable and I often receive plenty of compliments on my nails. The specialty pedicure for calluses is completely worth the money. Got it done a couple months ago and my feet are still in wonderful shape and super soft! In short I recommend it!!!!! read more

The place was clean, people were friendly, and nice. Prices are listed on their Craigslist ad so, no surprises with pricing. I had a mole removed also.it was done quickly. With good equipment. Pricing is on sliding scale, get it worked out so you aren't shocked. It is less per taag if you have more to do, then a few, but that is just the cost of training, equipment start up, wear and tear when you start the machine, ect ect. I've been going to this place for years! I usually love all the ladies in there and they are always so sweet. My nails usually last 3-4 weeks, for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Yesterday I went in and could tell they were in a rush. She started cleaning around my nails and cut me. I didn't get a towel or anything to wipe it off. I had to ask, after it was bleeding for the rest of the manicure. She put some sticky stuff on it and I'm prone to infection, so I'm a little worried I just got bacteria in my nail bed now. All my nails are inflamed this morning and the nail bed she cut, started bleeding again. I wasn't comped on my nail service and I didn't get an apology or help for my cut. Awful l, awful, awful!! Should not be in business. I came in to simply have acrylics removed and they couldn't even do that. She began on my pinky and ripped my nail off. She tried to tell me my finger wasn't bleeding when it clearly was. She then tried to continue taking off the rest of my acrylics as my finger bled. She made no attempt to offer a bandaid or napkin until I pulled my hand away and told her she needed to stop. Will never be back. read more

Been going here for over 10 years and anytime I've gone other places with friends I'm always disappointed I didn't just come here. I've learned to just stop trying other places and just go here. My gel lasts 3-4 weeks with no chips or lift. Regular pedicure last for a month or two if I need it to. Love the hot wax bags that make your feet so soft. read more

I found the ad on Craiglist (they posted like a hundred times) and went to have some skin tags removed (if you don't know what they are, count your blessings). It was advertised starting at $10. I called first to ask about this and confirm the pricing. I was told, minimum $10, and then $10 per skin tag that they remove. I figured I wanted to spend no more than $60, but when I looked at my skin tags, there were really only 3 or 4 that I really wanted to get rid of. So I made an appointment, drove from Richmond to Walnut Creek (it was nice to escape the fog) and went in. I was taken to a small back room and asked to remove my shirt. I lifted my arm and she began counting - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Some of the ones she was counting did not even qualify as skin tags. They were like skin tag embryos - very small, hardly noticeable. Of course when she was counting, I was as well - $10, $20, $30...$100. And that was just under one arm! So I said, I really only want to remove the big ones, and chose three that I wanted off my body. She then informed me that if I spend over $100, then after that it's cheaper. But for only 3, they would be $15 each. Whoah! Where did this price suddenly come from? I began to feel like I had fallen for a scam. Now I began to wonder how she removed them. My stomach started to hurt. I asked some questions to try to make sense of this, but the more she spoke the less sense it made. Finally I told her I had changed my mind. This place is a complete and utter joke; what a huge waste of 2 hours! **Driving time (out of my way): 20 minutes **Arrival time: 1:47pm **Appointment time: 2pm --- (when I started watching the clock) **Actual start time: 2:18pm **Extent of the pedicure: clip nails, trim cuticles, talk too much & forget which toe you left off on so a few get skipped, use tiny 1' X 1' square used to "exfoliate" my heels (and nothing else), then rinse, lotion (no massage), and apply paraffin wax. **Wax-baggies applied: 2:33pm --- (no EFFING lie, math = 15 minutes on my feet !!) **While wax dries, she starts another client's fingernails....... **At 2:46pm, I remove the wax-baggies myself b/c I NEED TO GO GET A PEDICURE!!! **She suddenly returns to remove the baggies. I already know there's still calluses / dry skin present, so I lift it up to see; she sees it too, and STILL digs around for some nail polish. Uuuhh NO!! I say, "No, no thank you. No color since I'm going to get another pedicure." She says, "Oh okay, you pay now." And I did; even left her a tip, trying to be the better person (totally regretted that, however, once I spoke with the manager). **Sat in my car for a few minutes before I realized that I really should go back and at least let the manager know & see how my "service" went. ** At 2:55pm, the manager (still working on the client she had when I got there!!) said that if I had somewhere to be, I should have let her know that I didn't want the wax to dry and then I would have been on my way, huh?? I love a neighborhood nail salon that I can pop into without an appointment. This is *THAT* place! I've made appointments when I can plan it but sometimes, I have an hour or two all to myself and when my nails look like they could use a pick-me-up, I just drive myself over. So many reasons to love this place - clean and sanitary practices, excellent quality mani and pedi, many OPI colors to choose from, great customer service, reasonable prices, tons of magazines to choose from and the list goes on and on! My favorite treatment here is the feet callus treatment! They use different lotions, solutions and scrubby implements to really remove the hard and crusty grossness on your feet. They can't make my feet look my 3 year old daughter's baby soft feet but they get it darn close! That with the calf massage puts me in heaven! I try really hard to not fall asleep but with the massage chair, tea (offered everytime I walk in), it's really hard to stay awake. I've had just about everyone there work on me. I've been there enough times but not enough to have favorite people to recommend to y'all. They offer other beauty services -- waxing, skin tag removal, etc. I've only had the nail services there. I read other yelp reviews and can't believe it's the same place. I've been going for over a year and never had a bad experience there. My mentor, her two daughters, and I came here with scheduled appointment for pedis at 4pm. It was supposed to be a fun outing before I leave for school. We arrive 10 minutes early. They then seated us, but we didn't get to sit together nor were we serviced until 15-20 minutes later. Not only were they unprepared, but they kept taking in customers despite not having finished previous customers like myself, my mentor and her daughters. My feet were in the wax bag for a while, and they forgot about me before my mentor pointed it out, then finally I got attention. Also, one of the daughters is 6, and they shouldn't be picking at her cuticles because it does hurt to an extent, plus her daughter is ticklish so it wouldn't be good if her hand slipped. My mentor pointed it out to the cosmetologist that she doesn't need to do, yet still proceeds to do so. They're nice to your face, but of course, because my mother works in salon, I understand the atmosphere of them speaking in Vietnamese to each other and it irritates the customers. The work itself is nice. My feet was smooth to the touch, the nail polish was on point, and it is reasonably priced. I just wish they had a better system of managing their customers. read more

I've gotta say, I'm so surprised by these negative reviews. My family and I have been coming to Diva Nails for over a year and LOVE them. All 4 of us drive in from out of the area to Walnut Creek for the shopping, dining, yoga, and Diva Nails. It's the only place I can get my husband to get a pedicure because his feet get really rough with calluses and corns if he doesn't. My daughters and I all get regular gel manicures and pedicures, so we've all had a chance to try each nail technician there at least once. The ladies who do the facials and waxing are also great. Pros: * Pedicures include hot wax, massage, callus treatment, etc. with NO upcharge or pressure to add-on services like they do at other nail salons. * Prices are super reasonable compared to other nail salons and estheticians. * Employees are all friendly, humble, detailed, and reliable. If you mess up your wet nail polish or don't like something, they are service-oriented: open to feedback and never get attitude like some other nail places I won't mention. * The facilities are CLEAN and they only use individually lined pedicare bowls, so NO chance of sharing germs and God knows what from every other foot before you that day. * Location is convenient and there's plenty of metered street parking right out front. * Great nail color selection. * Good ventilation. We have never smelled fumes in there or felt like we were being asphyxiated with noxious polish fumes like so many other nail salons. * The massage chairs are comfy and run multiple massage programs. Cons: * the 1st wax/facial room is a little tight and claustrophobic. Solution: request the 2nd room, which is larger. * Sometimes the techs talk loudly all at once amongst themselves, so if you're trying to rest, listen to something on your phone with earbuds, or take a quick work call while you're getting your nails done, forget about it. Solution: politely ask your tech if they can lower their voices for a bit. * They don't appear to offer the healthiest nail polishes. I wish they offered nail polishes free of the "10-toxins": formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, formaldehyde resin, xylene, triphenyl phosphate, parabens, animal ingredients, and fragrance. They may have a couple brands that are free of some of these toxins, but not all of them, so my suggestion is you bring your own, especially if you have cancer or other health conditions that are exacerbated by toxins in our environment. Unfortunately, this is still an issue at most salons. All that aside, we love this place for its flawless work, reasonable pricing, great value, convenient location, and excellent customer service. read more

I went here for the removal of some age spots. Work was excellent, fast, and affordable. If I had gone to a doctor's office, it would have taken an initial appointment to look at it and another appointment to remove them. Instead, I went to Diva on a Saturday afternoon, met Hong, asked her if there were something she could do, and she said yes, come back at 5:30. I came back and she was ready. She guided me into a room with an exam table, she cleaned the spots and anesthetized them, and 5 minutes later, she came back, burned them off with an electric probe. Took about 10 minutes. Not without pain, but definitely worth it. They scabbed up just as she said they would and the scabs fell off in aweek, again, just like she said. I am extremely happy. The place was busy but it was clean, unlike what some reviews say. The only awkward part was being a middle aged white male in a busy Asian spa serving all women. All eyes were on me with the look of "what are you doing here" . I toughed it out. :) I recommend this place. read more

This nail spa is right by our house so I was really looking forward to a salon we could walk to. I made appointments for two pedicures and specifically asked three times for them to start at the same time. Not a big deal, but my boyfriends appointment started 10 minutes before mine. He loved his first pedicure! I on the other hand was very disappointed. Even though his pedicure started 10 minutes before mine, we ended at the same time! My massage was worthless and the paraffin wax treatment was still very wet/melted when she removed the bag. No point of even putting it on in the first place. It was obvious she was trying to rush me out the door. I'm glad my boyfriend had a good first experience, but we won't be coming back to her! read more

I've come here a few different times since one of the ladies named Kim does an exceptional job. If I was rating this place based on her performance alone, i'd be giving it 5 Fabulous Stars! BUT, unfortunately her Manager is the reason I'm rating this place only One Star. I was extremely bothered at the lack of "The Manager's" Customer Service Skills. She has NONE !!!! I was disheartened by the way she mistreated and disregarded a couple of different Customers that walked in during my 2.5 hour treatment there for a Manicure, Pedicure and Eyebrows. I felt embarrassed & awkward for having to witness such poor treatment for those two ladies. One lady had an Eye Lash Extension Appointment with a $5.00 coupon (From a Stamped Card given by Diva's Nails) & after calling to confirm she can get that discount applied to her same day appointment prior to arriving by "The Manager"...She came in. Once the Customer had her eyelash extensions Done & completed she walked up to the cash register to pay, but the Manager refused to apply the $5 credit she agreed to over the phone. Justifiably so The Customer was upset trying to understand why she wasn't holding to her word...but not even a few seconds into her sentence expressing her disappointment to the Manager not complying with the agreement ...The Manager Lady stormed off towards the back of the store without apologizing or any explanation and as she was walking away from the Customers she proceeded to yell out-loud in Vietnamese to the ladies in the front to send her next appointment straight to the back once she gets there. I am shocked this Nail Salon can stay open for business, and don't believe that they have a large amount of repeating customers due to the lack of Customer service. I sadly will not be going back for future services despite of how much I love Kim's work :-( read more

I stopped into Diva Nails this afternoon after being treated a bit rude at another local nail shop. The shop has these amazing massager chairs, better than the normal pedicure spa set up. I think the are actual massage chairs, I love them! My pedicure was good, they could have spent a little more time with the loofah and have a few more colors to choose from.
