I've been to some of the other diva espresso locations and really liked it but today this spot wasn't very good, my first smoothie I've tried for them and it wasn't very good. The chocolate hazelnut cake we had was just alright. Service was nice and quick. When they gave me my smoothie the cap was already broken on it so I was spilling it for a bit which wasn't great but I hadn't even noticied until I sat at a table nearby. Spot is nice. I need to be better about asking for names. After months of working on First Hill, I finally made it in here. I felt like I was in a small town coffee shop because most of the people in line were regulars. The baristas were friendly and excellent at their craft since my Vanilla Oat Milk Latte was delicious on various occasions. Just the right amount of flavor and sweetness, plus a creamy foam on top. I came in once when their Internet was down, yet they still served the customers as they worked through the issue with a "I O U" verbal agreement. I came in the following week to pay my dues, and of course get another latte, and was thanked for coming back in with discount. This diva always leaves happy from Diva Espresso. read more

Can't recommend enough. Just the kind of cafe you want to be a regular at (which im sure is the case if you work at the hospital). They have really fun latte flavor combinations - highly recommend the lavender lemon. Service was excellent, space is smaller (more of a drop in and grab your drink to go type space) but they do have some tables and chairs. Came here with my friends today because I usually love the matcha here. We were met with the first barista who said barely five words to us with a dirty attitude. After receiving my drink, it didn't taste the same as normal so I asked nicely if there was anything they could do to fix it. I wouldn't expect this cozy shop to be located here but it is very welcoming and it gives me drive through coffee stand vibes with their seasonal drink menus and decor. I love Diva for a few reasons. Firstly, it's hard to find good coffee at Harborview, and Diva is conveniently across the street. I've had their drips a few times and think they are perfect light-medium roast, not too much acid and not to0 smokey dark, so you can hit a lot of flavors with each sip. The staff are always happy and quick to take care of long lines, I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to put in my order. Lastly, they have vegan pastries that are clearly labeled and some local brand vegan sandwiches and burritos. I bought a few Hangry Vegan burritos to chomp on while I walked up and down miles of hill of James St and really liked how they held up in my coat pocket. The barista also toasted up a breakfast sandwich for me that tasted like beyond sausage, just egg, and a slice of violife on an English Muffin, and you can't really go wrong with that combo. I also like that I can feed myself with good food and beverage for a reasonable price, which isn't that easy these days in Seattle. read more

I was excited to try their coffee and finally came in early Saturday morning to this location. The service was friendly although the gentleman at the front decided to ring up the couple he knew who came after me, before me. I sort of stood there waiting for my turn to pay even though my drink was ready. I thought it was inconsiderate, almost like letting people cut the line. The least they could have done was ask. Anyways, coffee was okay but the second thing I would say is NOT to order pastries off the shelf. As I was standing there patiently waiting ahemmm, I noticed there were hella fruit flies (decent size swarm) flying in and out of the food which wasn't wrapped. There is no door behind on that display counter to keep bugs out, so gross. I was going to order a scone but settled for the packaged sandwich instead. Sorry but I would never return here, maybe still try their Bothell location if it's more sanitary! Very disappointing because this a local coffee spot I've been dying to try. In a surprising black hole of coffee shops near Harborview, it is remarkable that Diva has a monopoly on the 9th & Jefferson intersection. Yet I'm so glad that the corner is not dominated by a certain green-colored coffee establishment. Delightful, quick and friendly service. Delicious espresso, local pastries that are fresh every morning, great music, and a really fun staff. I'm here a bit too often but there are few other coffee shops I would gladly give my money to. I am in love with the generra, I get the largest size, quad shot, breve, with whip. The generra is a latte with a little orange zest and is my favorite drink in general, but theirs is extra yummy! I come here every day I work at the hospital. Since the manager Christina left a few weeks ago, I've noticed this place has changed in a not so good way. The lines are longer, the wait times have increased quite a bit, and the place is not as clean. And the food displays are not as nice and not stocked well, e.g. the breakfast burrito I used to get is out. I hope things get better. read more

Not a spot I'll return too, which is a bummer as it's close to work and I live near the Greenwood location and go there often. I purchase client gifts regularly and stopped in to get a tumbler and a gift card as well as a drink for myself. The space was pretty dirty already at 8:30am, and both employees were less than friendly. As I picked up my quad shot with extra ice (after a longer wait than I'm use to) I added about an inch of cream over the extra ice and the barista sneered at me "you should have told me you wanted a latte". When I initially ordered my drink I asked for a quad shot with extra ice and extra cream. If they want to charge for a little extra cream they should do so! Critiquing my beverage choice or being passive aggressive about it is no way to run a business. I explained that I had asked for extra ice and added an inch, to which she rolled her eyes and walked away. I'll be less likely to go to my usual location after today. If the barista was concerned about product inventory or profit they could have said "we charge for extra cream so just let us know next time" - then she would have found out that is what I had ordered and take the time to train the employee that didn't charge me instead of taking out her bad morning on me. read more

This is the perfect little coffee shop! Location: accessible and on Harbourview campus. Easy to find and convenient for hospital workers/ visitors. Quality: fantastic and delicious. I've never had an order with an error, and as a frequenter, the baristas know my order. Environment: a true Seattle quirky coffee shop with delicious roasted coffee and drinks. Food: pastries are yummy and the food they sell is local. Price: about equal to Starbucks in pricing. If I could change something: the whipped cream is just literally whipped cream. Ok, so I've been visiting this coffee shop for quite some time now and the atmosphere is always positive and friendly! Specifically, today the staff are exceptional and I was thinking to myself that I hope the owner of the business recognizes these three employees for delivering excellent customer service with a smile. The team here knows their customers and work very hard. I also think the everything bagel I had was the absolute best bagel I've ever tasted, and the coffee, well, I'd say it's the best in Seattle. As many people have stated this is a busy place, but they make sure that your items are hot, fresh, ready and correct when you get them. The manager and staff members are all very friendly, get to know you and willing to do whatever they can to make sure the consumer is satisfied. They offer a very wide range of items and they really do have service with a smile. The staff is kind & also compassionate, and that type of engagement that makes a person want to keep coming back. When/If an issue arises (Which is rare) The manager Christina is very quick about addressing whatever it may be and very good at finding a resolution. I will never spend my money at Diva Expresso ever again and am appalled by their lack of compassion. This morning I went to Diva Expresso and a woman who was obviously homeless walked into the cafe and asked for a black coffee. Instead of charging her for the coffee or simply giving it to her because the woman was obviously suffering, the worker almost instinctively looked the woman in the eye, and said, "you have to have shoes to be in here. Go get your shoes." The woman who didn't have shoes and obviously didn't have any hidden begged the worker several times for a coffee. From this point the situation escalated and the woman began taking food, and I in no way blame this woman because she is hungry and powerless, and this worker is denying her humanity without an ounce of remorse. Eventually, two cops walk in and following the escort of the homeless woman, the worker goes on to feel sorry for herself, claiming that she is the victim in this situation. I believe that if this worker had treated the woman with the same respect as she would a middle class citizen then the situation would've ended much better. And to the cop who told me not to give her my Breakfest Burrito because I might encourage her. Withholding food is not a punishment and attempting to punish a hungry person by withholding food is cruel. read more

most of the staff here are super nice, but when it comes to coffee they need a LOT of training. No one seems to know how to make any drinks correctly (they put all the ingredients in there, but espresso and frothed milks are always done really poorly). When you don't know what's good quality control is impossible. They have been terrible for years, and really need some training on how to make coffee, and maybe some staff that cares about good coffee, a least just a little bit. read more

Diva Espresso next to Harborview was a haven for me while a family member was in the ICU from an accident during the COVID-19 pandemic in March and April 2020. The cappuccinos were perfect every time, service was friendly and quick - and it was easy to bring extra drinks to some of the nursing staff in the hospital. The baked goods were delish - and really provided that extra bit of comfort and food enjoyment during a really difficult time. I have never been so impressed with an espresso joint in Seattle!!! Not only is my coffee order always done right. My drink is always great. It isn't your watered down Starbucks, or overroasted beans like I see too often in Seattle. It is quality espresso. More importantly the group of baristas that work there are friendly efficient and know what the heck they are doing. They work great as a team and make the whole experience complete. The manager works hard to keep this amazing shop running smoothly. I would also like to add that they treat everyone like they are the only one there. This place is a godsend for the staff of Harborview. The drinks are well crafted, thoughtful and rotate seasonally. The pastries are delicious. But it really is Christina that makes Diva what it is. It's my first time today coming into this small coffee shop and I am immediately greeted with a very warm smile and welcome. The whole store feels very warm and cozy, the place is decorated with nice Christmas lights making it 10 times better. Their coffee is also A+.
