L'Optique on South Beverly Drive is among the small shops reopening during COVID pandemic…read more This shop was formerly occupied by 'C' by Karina opticals. The shop was great then and great now. The display of eyewear consists of designer brands and other high quality designs mostly from Japan. When it comes to eye glasses I need prescription, as I am near sighted. All my glasses need to be modified to my prescription so I always end up paying 4 times as much in addition to the already expensive frames. Today while window shopping, I noticed some aviator frames which I will need to try on and get more information. This shop is clean, bright and well organized. The male sales person was nice and offered to help, but I was not quite ready to make a purchase without touching, trying it on, and during COVID, it's a challenge we'll have to 'see' how it plays out.

Boris has that rare talent where he can hand you a pair of frames and somehow also hand you back a little piece of yourself you didn't know you'd lost. He doesn't just say, "These look good on you"--he says it like he's unveiling your true final form. The man is part fashion consultant, part vision whisperer, part therapist. I went in half-blind, half-hopeless, and fully expecting to spend too much money. I left seeing 20/20 and laughing so hard my mascara ran (which, by the way, Boris politely pretended not to notice). I can't wait for the glasses I ordered to arrive…read more I had been shopping around, after having my eye exam elsewhere, to find the right style of frames. Considering glasses are right on your face, I want to make sure I love the design of my frames. Immediately upon entering, I was greeted by Boris. He was finishing with another client, and was able to ask if I was looking for anything within the next minute. I described the size & style of what I was looking for, and in less than 5 minutes we had 3 great pairs for me to try on. I was pretty sure I had found my choice within the first round of frames. But just to be sure, Boris took the time to have me try on another 4 frames which were all great suggestions. If money was unlimited I would've left with 3 pairs. Once I was settled on my choice, we sat down to clarify the lens details. Boris wasn't pushy at all, was informative, and completely transparent with the pricing breakdown. Making the process very easy. I came here because of the frame selection. It was a pleasant surprise to have somebody as passionate about their job, as Boris - as his energy was something rare. He clearly listens to his clients carefully & makes honest suggestions with intent. I left happy with my purchase, confident, and excited. I'll update once my glasses arrive!
