The display of eyewear consists of designer brands and other high quality designs mostly from Japan. When it comes to eye glasses I need prescription, as I am near sighted. All my glasses need to be modified to my prescription so I always end up paying 4 times as much in addition to the already expensive frames. Today while window shopping, I noticed some aviator frames which I will need to try on and get more information. This shop is clean, bright and well organized. The male sales person was nice and offered to help, but I was not quite ready to make a purchase without touching, trying it on, and during COVID, it's a challenge we'll have to 'see' how it plays out.

As soon as we walked in, the middle eastern lady with the head scarf, who seemed to be the only employee in the store, immediately began giving my friend dirty looks. As we were trying on a pair of dirty glasses that we wiped with our shirt, she so rudely raised her voice and said don't wipe those they are going to get damaged. We put them down and walked away. She proceeded to show me Meta Glasses and when I asked her if they could translate to Armenian, she looked to my friend with disgust and said no rudely and walked away. It is no mystery as to why this employee was so rude. As soon as she figured out my friend was an Armenian Christian, she couldn't help but externalize her racism. After countless dirty looks and rolling her eyes, we headed to checkout. When my friend kindly asked her to remove the warranty, she said "I will relax." Hearing that, we were both taken aback. My friend said "excuse me?" and she proceeded to lie about how we were actually the rude ones. We told her to pull up the cameras and she continued laughing. I then got involved and told her there was no reason to say relax or "don't wipe the glasses" so rudely. I told her we ignored the many dirty looks and would have avoided this confrontation altogether had she not said relax. When asking for her name or a manager, she refused. However, the top of our receipt included her name, Fatima. I hope management of this store or the Westfield Institution handles this issue properly because ignoring countless complaints about the same employee is encouraging racism and aggression, which is completely unacceptable. I hope some resolution can be reached, this behavior is just sad.

The product is great, however I don't care how great the product is, if the people that I deal with are off-putting, I won't return. As a side thought, I noticed the complaint by Matt B. Oliver Peoples was bought some time ago by Luxottica. However, the original location which is the one on Sunset, retained it's independence if I understand correctly. So if I am correct it could follow that the "local" Sunset Blvd. store might note neccessarily be informed of what Luxottica's site offers.

They force you to run their claims through Luxottica Retail. Luxottica responded some time later that it's not a warranty issue, and asked for payment (response 51127749). I responded saying this was unacceptable since it's clearly a warranty issue. They did not respond after multiple follow-ups. As such, I figured I'd call Oliver People's directly since I thought they'd be able to help. They responded by saying I had to submit a form to Luxottica online. I mentioned I did this but did not get any response after multiple attempts. They said I had to contact them online. I told them that's the issue: they're not responsive and aren't helping. The Oliver Peoples representative told me that I needed to go to Luxottica and that they had no phone. I asked for a manager to see if they might be able to help. At which point he hung up on me. Normally I wouldn't go through so much bother, but I did like these glasses, and I wanted to like this brand. But after experiencing what has to be one of the worst customer service experiences I've had, I'd caution everyone to stay away from this brand entirely. I do truly hope this reaches their management and they change their ways...

Ignacio was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. He took his time helping us, and we ended up buying three pairs of glasses. And I met this very nice young lady, named Elle, who told me she was the owner. Considering glasses are right on your face, I want to make sure I love the design of my frames. Immediately upon entering, I was greeted by Boris. He was finishing with another client, and was able to ask if I was looking for anything within the next minute. Once I was settled on my choice, we sat down to clarify the lens details. Boris wasn't pushy at all, was informative, and completely transparent with the pricing breakdown.
