A solid 4.5 stars - and definitely a go-to spot if you're anywhere near Stuart, FL, where there isn't anything else like District Table and Bar. If you're looking for a lovely farm-to-table style experience, in an upscale-but-not-stuffy atmosphere, and you also enjoy and appreciate a large wine and beer list, then make yourself a reservation at District! Note that they are closed Mondays. The ambiance is very warm and inviting, with an "urban chic" farm-like atmosphere - think large wooden tables, fresh herbs and flowers on the tables, handmade chairs, dark tiles/planks, etc. It's loud at dinner, but just lively. You can definitely still carry on a conversation with the people at your table, but in a large party (we were a party of 11), you might have to speak loudly to be heard at the other end. I liked that the menu was fairly small and that their offerings change often. That tells me they're true to their local and farm-fresh philosophy, and that their chefs are cooking what's in season. We actually ordered one of every appetizer, and my two favorites were the raw oysters (served with 3 delicious sauces and very fresh), as well as the Elote (street corn), served off the cob but placed back in the husk, and accented with cotija cheese; creamy without tasting like creamed corn. The french fries were also very good as an appetizer. Among our party of 11, we were served by one waitress, and I will say that she did a phenomenal job of taking care of our entire party, and making nary a mistake. She was also friendly, attentive, and had a great personality. The only question she couldn't answer for me, she went and found someone who could. She also was very accommodating to a member of our party who was strictly vegan. The entrees were simply fabulous, and all tasted as wonderful as their plating would suggest. See pics below my review. The burger is totally worth the $18 charge, as it's a patty as huge as Texas and also comes with a mound of those delicious fries. The fried chicken and mac-and-cheese was a huge hit also, as the chicken was beyond juicy and delicious, and the mac had a knockout truffle flavor! The striploin was HUGE - don't worry about not getting enough "meat & potatoes" if that's your thing. Among the pescatarians, they raved about the yellow grouper and licked their plates clean (figuratively speaking). The softshell crab was also well-loved, but be sure you know that with softshell crab, you eat the shell! Personally, I was wild about my grilled octopus (so tender and meaty, and served with a nice salad) as well as the Big Eye Tuna Poke - the serving was much larger than I was expecting, and was presented with tuna and served in a double-walled steel bowl over ice with chopsticks to keep it nice and chilled! Oh, and there was dessert, let me tell you! From the glorious key lime tart served with marshmallow ice cream (it works!) to the fresh chocolate cake, and my favorite, the key lime ice cream and also sorbet du jour (blood orange - OMG), we were in heaven. By far the greatest thing that has ever happened to flavor, service and atmosphere all in one in Stuart. Recommend sitting at the kitchen bar, it's like dinner and a show. Really great place, lots to watch and great food too....might be better on a night you can sit outside as it will give them more tables to seat everyone. The inside is cement floors so it is wicked loud in there....the clientele is pretty eclectic and all ages. I had a most delightful evening tonight and a wonderful dinner at District Table. Our waiter this evening was Richard and he was excellent in helping with the wine selection and the meal selection. We started with a delightful French Rose and first course were Deviled eggs which were amazing, next course was Tuna Crudo appetizer which melted in my mouth, then the shaved Brussels Sprout Salad. I am not a fan of Brussels sports, but this dish made me a fan. If only I had the recipe.. The last course was Oxtail Ragout, all I can say was wow!!! What an amazing meal. Oh, yes, desert... Mexican Chocolate Flourless Cake, a delight. If you want a epicurean delight, The District Table is the place to go in Stuart. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. I have been to the District a handful of evenings all spread out over months. Each and every time, it's a wonderful experience. Not only is the staff accommodating and friendly, they are also knowledgeable and willing to ask higher ups if they don't know an answer. When you dine here, it does not feel like you're in Stuart, FL, but rather, an elegant getaway somewhere exotic. Their menu changes weekly, regarding what is fresh in season. I absolutely love the fact that they only get food from farmers markets and organic sources locally. They prepare it when it's ordered and I have not been dissatisfied with any item I have ordered. I highly recommend the street corn appetizer. That is a staple item for your dinner table. If there are more than 4 in your party, by all means, get 2 orders of street corn. You are going to want more! The deviled eggs are also a can't-go-wrong app. Each and every item they serve is packed with flavor and savory goodness. I'm not even joking. If you've ever seen the movie Ratatouille, there's a moment at the end when the critic takes his first bite of a meal that was carefully prepared and in a split second, he is taken back to his childhood memory full of wonderful food. This place has that effect with every item. Their attentive staff is always there to fill up your glass with sparkling or still water and more than capable of answering any questions you have about the menu. I have had Beef Tartar here---a very interesting item. I have never had Tartar before, but if I ever do again, I will only want to have it from the District. It was perfect! I've had the Tuna Poke as well, and it just screams flavor. So good! Finishing the savory meals with a glass of Donnafugata desert wine, doughnuts &/or Ice cream (which they hand make) is the most satisfying way to end the extravagant meal. Came here because of recommendations from the locals. I like the farm to table idea. I thought the place was a little bit overpriced. I can't see myself paying $15+ for a appetizer sized dish. I ordered the least expensive item from the entree menu which was sweet tea fried chicken. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Didn't care too much for the gigantic biscuit served with the dish. Overall the dish was just OK and it needed a refreshing element on the dish. I left with my mouth feeling very dry. read more

I got their famous burger, it ended up being pretty good, until i found a hair halfway through eating it. The food here on average is pretty good, but the business lacks a standard of quality. The waitstaff was hanging on by a thread and it seemed that the girls at the hostess stand were holding the whole place together. I've been to District 3 times since they opened almost 6 weeks ago, and I really enjoy this place. I love the fact that they're focused on sustainable food and make every attempt to get fresh, local ingredients from area farms. I also love the fact that many menu items are constantly being changed. The first time I went here, we ordered the Charred Octopus and Bone Marrow as appetizers. The Bone Marrow was absolutely fantastic, while the octopus was overcooked. It still had good flavor, but unfortunately it was overcooked. Our entrees more than made up for this, however. I ordered the pork belly, which was phenomenal, and my friends ordered the tile fish and the milk fed chicken. The tile fish was good, and I'm normally not a huge fan of chicken, but the chicken was out of this world. We finished with the bread pudding and one of their ice creams of the week, both of which were delicious The second time I came to District, we ordered the Bone Marrow, which was again delicious, as well as a snack of Pigs Ears. The pigs ears were really hard and crunchy, and I think were more of a novelty item than anything else. As for entrees, I ordered the Big-Eye Tuna, and my parents ordered the gag grouper and the chicken. The tuna dish was great, but the gag grouper was by far the best dish at the table. It was definitely one of the best dishes I've ever had. The chicken was prepared in a completely different manner than the first time I came here, and while still flavorful, it was nowhere close to being as good as the first time I went. My mother enjoyed it immensely, however. For dessert, I had the maple bacon ice cream and we shared the rhubarb/blackberry compote cheesecake, which was great. District has a happy hour from 5-6:30 with $3 beers, and I ordered a watermelon appetizer that came with a triangle of cheese and what was supposed to be a serrano vinaigrette. The watermelon was good, and the cheese was delicious, but there were literally four tiny drops of the vinaigrette which was a disappointment. I cannot be happier about this great addition to the local culinary scene. I ordered the charred octopus and the fried chicken livers and both were perfectly prepared. I loved that not only was the octopus the most tender I've ever had, but the addition of kalamata olives and cornbread croutons was a really creative way to tie in the Mediterranean dish with the southern style of the restaurant. I also love the fact the all ingredients are local and organic. They also have a fresh oyster bar and an excellent selection of beer and gourmet cheese, and the atmosphere is pleasant. 5 stars! This was our first time eating and visiting the district table and it was great! We did not make reservations (Highly recommended to! Busy place) but we're able to get two seats that overlooked the kitchen staff (almost like a Benihana's) where you could see them cooking everything! The food was phenomenal, we had sticky buns and street corn as an appetizer and Prime Teres Major and Blue crab pasta for dinner. Everything had excellent taste and the waiter and waitress were very attentative and helpful. It's a little expensive but worth the money. Will deff be back! read more

Going to dinner here last night was on accident but it was the best decision ever! From the minute we walked in to the last second we left, service and food were top notch! Started out with the mozzarita burrata and it was light and fresh and mildly sweet. The cheese was so creamy as our fabulous waitress Christina described. Then for main course we had the burger- hubby said it was the freshest burger he has ever had and the display was great. I had the prime teres major and it melts in your mouth. The beef was perfectly cooked and I've never had bread pudding like this but it was worth the try because it was so good. Both meals were paired(by request) with perfect wines. Dessert was the doughnuts which were light and fluffy and the sauces that were made and served were a great compliment to the doughnuts. The ambiance was perfect as we were able to carry a regular conversation tone wise. Our waitress Christina was very good at assisting us while we attempted to navigate through the menu but had us laughing the whole night! There was something very off with the two male outside wait staff that had frantic energy, lack of focus., and seemingly disappeared from time to time. Our dinners were served luke warm at best which meant the kitchen had left them up, and no one was in charge of expediting. I know everyone raves about this place & I really want to like it but I just can't!! We've tried two times. Once at old location & recently at new location. It's just not worth the $. And it will cost you plenty of $$$$. A few pet peeves. Serving the drinks with no napkins or coasters. Condensation gets all over the table and drips on you. This is not a picnic & you're not using solo cups. For $14 a drink I'd like it to not be a drippy mess. The service is meh. I really dislike having to look around & wave down my server. At a restaurant with these prices every need should be anticipated. Going to the restroom? Beware as you are taking a risk. Poorly designed as you have to walk by bar service area to get there & it is a slippery mess (more condensation!) also very crowded with staff. The food is mediocre. I don't expect nor can I tolerate meh & mediocre from this restaurant. I will say that the cheeseburger & fries I ordered were very good but it's a cheeseburger for heavens sake. I've had the same meal at Five Guys that was just as delicious. The host staff did a great job. read more

We arrived at The District, January 2018 in Stuart, FL, on a Saturday at 6:45 to get a table for 4. We were told by the hostess that there would be a 45-minute wait and so we proceeded to the firepit. It was crowded that evening so we sat my 89-year old grandmother (her birthday treat, by the way) by the fire and we stepped to the side until a seat opened up for us. As we were standing there I saw a server bring a white wine and put it in my grandmother's hand, I said to the server, that's not hers. She proceeded to go over to the other server who was standing with two ladies next to us and asked about the wine. She then went over to my Grandmother and snatched the wine out of her hand without explanation and gave it to the ladies, they then turned their noses up and said we don't want that, she touched it. Mind you she didn't drink from it at all, just held it by the stem. She has cognitive issues typical of some elderly and was very confused and a bit embarrassed by this transaction without any explanation from your staff. We couldn't get over the rudeness of these women patrons. As she went to bring the wine back to the bar, I said, you know, we will just take that, no need to rip the wine glass from her and make her confused. Of course, this was on our bill, their screw up and the wine was horrid by the way and we were unable to more than sip it to see if palatable, but it was on our bill. We told the waitstaff that the wine was not good and they just stared at us and did nothing. We eventually found a spot at the fire pit with some lovely people as we waited for our table. My nearly 3-year old son was being very patient but was hungry. They never offered a menu for some bites and kept saying our table would be up soon. At 8:15 I was beyond upset because everyone in our party was hungry and frustrated. Yes, we could have left, but then I would have had to cook at home and I didn't plan on that so had nothing ready to prep. When I went up to hostess stand the young girls couldn't give me an answer on why our wait-time was so damn long (double the estimate). The main hostess then said that we were next and offered to get some mac and cheese delivered to the fire pit for my son. As soon as it was delivered our table was ready so we finally sat down. My son began to devour the mac and cheese which was lukewarm at best 3 minutes after initial delivery. Unacceptable. We were then greeted by our fantastic server, Tara. She was absolutely lovely and briefly went over the menu in how it was organized, but didn't highlight any particular dishes or ask our interests in an attempt to guide us through the menu. We order a few apps immediately as we were starved, the deviled eggs which was very creamy and yummy but an egg and a half for three portions is stingy at best for the price, the pork belly steamed buns which were also awesome. We ended up ordering 3 dishes to share; the shaved truffle Crusted Scallop, Short Rib Ramen and Goose's Favorite Pizza. Now at 9:45 our food was finally delivered. At this point we were all tired and cranky like my 3-year-old. We proceeded to inhale our food and were disappointed overall. The pizza was good but had black burned edges, not very cheesy and more of a flatbread than a pizza and arugula barely scattered and so many chili's thrown on it in a heap. Not very impressed and it wasn't something I'd order again, it was okay. Then the Ramen, the noodles were fresh and delish, the meat went from raw to well down on the individual pieces and while the broth was okay, it lacked a true depth of flavor and felt as if it was just made and didn't have time to build flavors. I lived in Taiwan for three years and know good ramen when I taste it. I might consider it again to see if it was just inconsistent on a busy night, but overall unacceptable. Finally, we had the scallop and truffle dish and it was divine with a lovely cream sauce and the scallop were cooked perfectly. For the price it needed another scallop and too much sauce that actually worked for our dry pizza crust as we ran it through the excess scallop sauce that was way too much for the dish served. However, it helped the pizza tremendously to make it more palatable. Additionally, $14 for a large French press coffee pot for one contained a brew that was not good (weak and stale) and it was an effort to drink one cup, leaving most of the pot. We are not strangers with farm to table restaurants and certainly do not object to your pricing for food and drink if the product is of high quality; however, in this case, we were underwhelmed. Such a shame as the setting was very nice and the menu has potential. We would not recommend anyone to go. We work hard for our money and it was $200 wasted this evening. Have been driving up from Jupiter for dinner - it's totally worth the drive! There are so many stand out items that it's hard to narrow it down. If you have dined at Coolinary Cafe this place is their northern cousin with a much warmer feel and better service. Nathan (our server) was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. The corn appetizer was amazing as well as the ribs. The burger comes with a tiny milkshake - great selling point for kids of all ages! I've been meaning to yelp about this for weeks now. We went for our anniversary based on reviews and I'm so glad we did. Tammy was our server and she was wonderful. Very friendly and great at suggesting menu items. We had lionfish (which I never find on a menu anywhere because it's hard to prepare), Brussels sprouts cooked to perfection, and on Sundays they have delicious buck a shuck oysters. Simply put, the worst service my wife and I had has in years. district Table needs to either be more selective with who they hire or make a real effort to properly train their employees. We ordered Cava or Spanish sparkling wine which was horrible. We then ordered Prosecco and received the same bad Cava. The Waitress has some lame excuse and stated one of the glasses smelled? The food was just OK. My wife's Stone crab claw was small and watery and the "Mustard" sauce was mostly Mayonnaise and bland. My Tuna Poke was tasty but a very small portion. My Octopus was OK. My wife's Shrimp and Grits was very good. We were going to order desert but we're sufficiently disappointed in the lack of service and decided it simply wasn't worth it. It's too bad because the table next to us had a competent Waiter who worked there for four years and seemed to love his job and did a great job with his table. The appetizer that we chose, was Bella Glade Street Corn and it is to die for. An incredible blend of the freshest ingredients Cotija cheese, lime and chili. My wife, aka birthday girl, feasted on a Key Largo Hog Fish FL. lobster with sweet corn, spinach dumpling and obviously more than I can remember. I enjoyed the District Burger and it is a unique Swiss, bacon, tobacco onion and chocolate shake with very fine bits of chocolate in it. My GOD, I'm in a food coma people! This is my first time here since they opened this new location. I'm currently the most uninterested in dating so I take myself out frequently- I love that sitting, watching them in the kitchen is an option! Everyone should experience this at least once! I also love their little seafood layout, the stone crab immediately caught my attention. Stone crab is almost out of season so I had to get one! Also opted for the deviled eggs which never disappoint. I also believe they have a much better staff here. Stephanie was my waitress and she sympathized with my drooling over the cheeseburgers cooked right in front of me, but assured me that the ribeye was the best choice if I was craving red meat! I'm so impressed with this place. The specialty drink menu is exactly that. I had the La Niña. It was great. A hint of basil. The sweetness from the Riesling. And the subtle heat from the jalapeño! The menu is constantly changing and sourcing from super local farms. Two thumbs up for that alone. Tonight I had the "Jupiter Tuna, 48 hour Pork Belly, Pickled Ramp Chimichurri, Crushed Avocado, Cracklings". It was a smaller portion. But so so good. The tuna was like little rubies and the pork belly was so tender and packed full of flavor (thank the gods for pigs, right?). Oh, and the Grand Marnier soufflé with white chocolate anglaise. YUM! it's pretty big so you can definitely split it between 2-3 people. It's great to get together with friends or a date, which was the purpose of my visit. There was a pretty diverse crowd (young and old) there for 9:15 on a Friday night and they made no attempt at rushing us out the door at almost 11:20. The old spot was a hidden gem. The food and menu were made/prepared for the patrons and everything was impeccable. We would easily wait an hour plus every time if necessary. The new spot clearly has a huge overhead and prices, portions and menu choices reflect it. Seems to be more aimed at pleasing the masses than pleasing the local foodies who made them what they are. The food is still delicious and service was still amazing but they've lost that sparkle that made them unique and the prices are nuts. What used to cost my husband and I a little over $100 now cost us almost $200. We won't be rushing back or suggesting it. WHAT A JOKE!!! Don't waste your time with this place. We had reservations for 4, when we got there they said they couldn't find it. Then they finally found it in their ipad. They started seating party's of 4 that were arriving after us. I asked are you going to seat us and they said I'm sure we can find a table, then promptly continued to ignore us. The hostesses were rude and acted very pompous. Well, we are taking our business elsewhere. There are a lot of restaurants, with I'm sure better food, than this place that want your business. I have been a fan since their original location which only sold drinks. The menu is creative, my favs are the fried chicken and Tuna entrees and Cobia dip appetizer. I love the dimly lit tables which make the restaurant cozy and intimate.
