I've lived here 5 years now. In all that time I've seen an astonishing amount of turnover in the office and mngmnt. It's never been as close to as BAD as it is right now with Kyndell and co. (aka the clowns) in charge. This place has gone seriously downhill with them and downhill fast!! They focus on the petty things, instead of things that matter to the residents. The apts are nice. But the property isn't well maintained. Dog poop everywhere! Dog pee all over the stairs and landings of stairwells. Newer tenants loud during quiet hours, dogs constantly barking. They'll tell you the train isn't that bad. lol ya ok. ITS A TRAIN!! Not only can you hear it, YOU CAN FEEL IT! Shakes the entire apt. It's bad. Quiet time til 8 am but they have landscapers mowing every Friday at 630am, sometimes earlier sometimes later. If you face the courtyard, every conversation echos, along with kids screaming and dogs barking but it's amplified. Happens at all hours, so you better be a deep sleeper. Parking is an absolute joke. They send Richard the special maint guy to ask for good reviews after he does his job fixing something. That shows you how desperate they are to fix their google rating. Pawning your helper to solicit good reviews? After doing his job, and poorly at that. Pathetic. You will have your package stolen at some point. Probably other tenants. Way overpriced for the crap you have to deal with. It was tolerable before Kyndell, but now it's time to move on. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. I promise you that. We had our apt tested for mold and it came back positive. They send Richard in with a moisture monitor he doesn't know how to use. Guy says he's never seen mold either! What is he don't making these decisions for such a large company. Everything about this place is now a joke. read more

Just moved in here and so far my experience has been very positive. I moved cross country and the leasing office has been so helpful answering all my questions and making the move much less stressful. Specifically, Chanda went above and beyond for me helping me even bring packages into my apartment because they showed up a little early. The amenity spaces have been nice and the neighbors have been pleasant. No noise issues at night even on weekends which is nice. Would certainly recommend! read more

District Lofts by Mark-Taylor - Pool area - Apartments Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

We lived at the District Lofts for 2.5 years and enjoyed most of our time there, but were beyond ready to leave toward the end of our lease. The things we enjoyed about living at the Lofts were the neighbors that we met and became friends with, the distance to downtown Gilbert, the overall aesthetics of the complex and inside of the apartments, and the balcony sizes. However, the things that we did not enjoy outweighed the things we did enjoy. I HIGHLY suggest getting a unit on the top floor. You can hear every footstep of heavy-footed upstairs neighbors, as well as their dogs running around their apartment and constant barking while they are gone. If you work from home and depend on WiFi, this may not be the best place to live as the internet goes down MULTIPLE times per day. Since we lived there, we saw at least 4 different front office teams come through, so nothing is consistent, and they do not employ enough maintenance team members to get everything done in a timely matter. Because of this, there are constantly things that aren't working in the Clubhouse. You will be told that a vendor is supposed to come check on it, and they won't be fixed for MONTHS. Parking was a major issue as well if you get home after 6pm. It was incredibly frustrating to pay the price for a "luxury" apartment, and it not live up to that standard. read more

My boyfriend and I lived here for two years. We loved the friends we met and definitely enjoyed some aspects of the community, but I would not recommend living here. There aren't nearly enough parking spots for all residents, neighbors were selling drugs and having fistfights in the hallway which made me feel incredibly unsafe, and they had one maintenance man who was very kind- but way too busy because everything was constantly breaking, including our washer/dryer and air conditioner. To top it all off, they charged every person I knew (myself included) who lived there $300 to replace the carpet when we moved out. No way was this actually necessary. This place has potential, but they need to make a lot of changes for the amount of money they expect in rent. read more

I moved to Arizona from Georgia and leased site unseen but throughout the process the staff was incredible about sending pictures, videos, and answering all my many questions. I've lived here for 2 years now and plan on renewing my lease again. Adam and Selena are fantastic! Everyone on the team both office and maintenance is friendly and helpful. Work orders get done quickly and the community always looks clean. Its worth every penny to love where you live! read more

We moved in about 15 days ago and everything has been pretty much perfect! I'm pretty shocked to see negative comments about the office staff. When we toured the apartments they were extremely friendly, and even when there was an error on their background check that initially disqualified us from moving in, the staff was very friendly, professional, and helped us get the matter resolved. Long story short, they use a 3rd party for their background screenings and the 3rd party got some bad information. We contacted them and it was resolved the same day. The staff had no issue holding our apartment for us while we worked with the 3rd party to get the matter resolved. Another issue I've read about is train noise. Yes, there is a railroad track right next to the property and the trains run night and day. I'd say there's roughly 3-5 that run throughout a 24 hour period. The first night here I woke up due to a train blowing it's horn, but since the first night I haven't had issues. I'm not the deepest of sleepers either, but I guess I got used to the noise pretty fast. The actual sound of the train on the tracks is like white noise, and not every train that goes by blows the horn. Our unit is located facing the courtyard so I can't speak to the train noise volume for those units facing the tracks. The actual apartment units are wonderful. When we moved in everything was spotless. There are a few very small issues such as the cabinet door where the garbage can goes not closing all the way and some paint chipping from the bottom of a door trim. When we brought these things up in our move in check list they immediately offered to send someone over to fix them, but honestly it's not even necessary. You would have to really be nit picking to even notice this stuff. Soft closing drawers, beautiful subway tile in the bathrooms and kitchen, brand new stainless steel appliances, huge over sized sliding glass doors, high ceilings, big balconies, beautiful vinyl flooring... I mean there's not much else you could really ask for. The only thing that would be nice to have would be a wifi thermostat, but again, I'm nit picking. The neighbors seem very pleasant and friendly. Everyone says hello when you walk by them, most people are pretty good at cleaning up their dog's poop, and so far nobody has been blasting music or TV at odd hours of the night. As far as noise goes, you can hear people above you when they are walking around with shoes on, but honestly that's to be expected in an apartment complex and it's much less noisy than any other apartment I've lived in. We did a lot of research prior to moving here and this place checked all the boxes for us. You can easily walk to downtown Gilbert where there are tons of new bars and restaurants. The amenities in the complex are awesome including a nice gym with free weights, squat rack, and even a Peloton bike. A pool and hot tub that are both heated. Grills scattered around the property so you don't have to venture very far to get your BBQ game on. Valet trash service 5 days a week so you don't even have to walk your trash down to the dumpsters. Cable and internet included which surprisingly has great connection speeds (over 100mbps over wifi) and a number of channels. They even have an app that you can download that has a profile for all of the residents and their pets. (You don't have to have a public profile if you don't want to.) You can set up play dates for your dogs on the app, sign up for dating, get notifications about packages being delivered, pay your rent, and get notified about the many community events that are happening. Just last weekend they had a wine & paint event and they have food trucks scheduled nearly once a week. I know this is long winded and I know I've only been here for a few weeks, but I gotta give credit when it's due and this place has been awesome for us so far. If anything changes I'll be sure to update my review. Hopefully these good reviews don't lead to the rent being raised at the end of the lease because we plan to stay here for awhile. read more

At first we were so excited to live here! The apartments are very nice and a good location. I worked from home and the neighbors would play music so loud you could hear it on our zoom calls. The music would get so bad it vibrated the walls. Once we had people over while it was happening and they couldn't believe we had to deal with it. We had over 18 documented incidences including them hosing off dog urine off the balcony onto peoples cars multiple times. One of the managers ended up telling the upstairs tenants that it was us calling on them and that made us feel unsafe. The cops ended up having to be called twice because nothing was being done about it. When we brought this up to higher management, they accused of us lying. I was counting down the days till our lease was up and we got the heck out of there. read more

After we moved in we found everyone to be very responsive, the facilities are clean and organized and the pool is even heated in the colder months. Hands down one of the coolest places that I've lived. And the staff, AMAZING to say the least. All the office ladies are super friendly, knowledgeable and will do anything to make their residents feel welcome and happy. District Lofts is located right in the heart of downtown Gilbert and brings its own unique flair to the area. I love the industrial and modern look and the smell every time I walk into the front office. (And I let the really cool staff know about the great smell too :) The amenities are state of the art with a great gym, clubhouse, and pool area. Plenty of grills to cook on and a relaxing fire pit to enjoy the cool nights. The location is the best. A variety of really good restaurants all within a short walking distance and conveniently located close to a great training gym and cycle studio. The view of the water tower and the train tracks really give the District Lofts an urban feel and a place I'm happy to call home. read more

This property is in a great location, the apartments are beautiful, and the staff is amazing. The office staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. It is very rare that we have an issue but when we do it is always handled quickly. We have only had to call maintenance once since we moved in and they were quick to respond and very nice as well. I love that I can call the District Lofts home. The office staff is so amazing and accommodating. They take service requests seriously and usually always completed within 24 hours, unless something has to be ordered. The amenities are fantastic, and the quick walk to downtown Gilbert is awesome! The train can be a tad obnoxious when your windows are open, but it's only for a brief stint of time. I've been here for a year and don't plan on leaving any time soon. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars! Front office is incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. Definitely a shame because the units are nice and the location is great. Stay far away because management is very dishonest and hurtful. If it was up to me I would fire them and hire all new people and get them some property management training and communication/people skills training. You think a company like Mark Taylor could afford to hire some real professionals. I have never had any issues with other apartments and I truly believe the difference is the staffing in management. read more

I used to live here and I forgot to leave a review. Honestly got spoiled by these apartments. Very clean. Front office was amazing and very pet friendly. Plus, people were friendly around too. Felt very safe! Just so clean! It was a great stay. Plus the trains... I miss that too. It took like two weeks to get used to it but after, I never woke up from it or even noticed it that much. We lived at the district lofts from 2017-2019 and had a million things wrong happen. First off we had a terrible sewer smell in our apartment for three months and called maintenance multiples times for them to downplay it and just pour bleach in our washer. They then found mold behind our wall that was causing the smell. I was also pregnant during that time and would throw up everyday due to the smell. Also the guy living above us was cleaning his shotgun and shot it through the floor into our ceiling while I was home. He rushed down to my place because he thought he shot me. Luckily it barely didn't go through the ceiling but the girls upstairs couldn't care less. Finally we had to call the cops and then corporate got involved because they had too. I would not recommend the district lofts to anyone. read more

I came in and toured with Ashiati I believe her name was, the units were beautiful and well maintained grounds. She made the tour pleasurable and was very informative in what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I ended up getting a job closer to downtown Phoenix and wasn't able to rent at this property but she gave me other Mark Taylor property names. read more

My bf and I have lived here for about 7 months now and absolutely love it! We love the location and being a 5 minute walk away from downtown. The train doesn't bother us at all. It's super pet friendly (everyone has dogs!) Adam the Leasing Manager is always pleasure to work with. We have never had any maintenance issues. I have recommended the lofts to several friends looking for a place in Gilbert and a few of them have actually moved in this past month too! read more

If it wasn't for the blaring train horns in the middle of the night, this would be a great place. However, the noise is so loud and piercing that it jolts me awake and I can't get back to sleep for an hour. (Oh and the rep told me the trains only ran in the day time when I was first looking at the apartments, which is completely untrue.) read more

If it weren't for all the awesome people that live at this complex we would have moved out already, management is that terrible. Trespassing is a huge issue, not sure what Matt is talking about because I also live right next(no literally 10 feet, so noise is an issue) to the pool on the 1st floor, not to mention I've had items thrown onto my patio that have shattered everywhere, and people climbing my patio fence to get things they've thrown over the pool fence. Ingrid's suggestion was to get my own security cameras, which would do nothing?? The same dog attacked 3 different dogs and managed to bite a person before 'management' stepped in, and I'm not sure if they still would have done anything if it hadn't been for threatening legal action, another residents dog was attacked by a different dog and neither Ingrid nor Jessica the assistant manager followed up with the resident to even check on the dog. It's pathetic. The dog park is an absolute joke; there's no shade whatsoever, they told us they would work on it, I've been here since December and they have no date yet. The water fountain in the dog park was draining into the grass and causing it to become muddy so instead of actually fixing the fountain properly their "fix" was to turn the water down so low that neither of my dogs will drink out of it. We wanted to rent out the rooftop for the 4th, which would only be $150 and change but they still haven't fixed the grills up there, but they still want to charge you full price when nothing up there amenity wise actually works. If you have an issue and address it with the office 9 out of 10 times you won't receive a reply. WiFi is terrible and you have no choice because it's included. The list literally goes ON and ON. Overall I don't recommend living here, management needs an overhaul. read more

We really enjoyed living in District Lofts. The location was great - walking distance to restaurants and bars, and also a park and splash pad for our smaller children. We moved from San Francisco and the level of professional management far exceeded our expectations. The women in the front office were always friendly and professional and every maintenance request was address quickly. Every interaction we had with the employees, front office and maintenance, was positive and a huge part of why we enjoyed living there so much. read more

I relocated from the Oregon area in December. My experience at District Lofts from the first time I toured to now has been great! The office staff is friendly and are always smiling and eager to help. They mentioned the train upon me moving in and it really isn't bad. The entertainment package and valet waste is awesome! Ingrid, the complex manager is extremely reasonable with her tenants but also looks to make sure everyone has a great living experience. I live right by the pool and I haven't noticed any issues with trespassing. The rent is a great deal considering everything you get and the awesome staff. Special shout out to the maintenance staff for taking care of all my requests no matter how ridiculous in a quick manner. Thank you to this community for all that you do!!! read more

Here we come District Lofts! I'll be honest, I've been a bit hesitant moving from my beloved Hermosa Beach CA, to Gilbert AZ. Nervous if i was gonna find the right place, right kinda people etc. Can honestly say today after my walk through I'm extremely optimistic and I dare say excited. Place compared to most seems like it had its stuff together. Had the pleasure to be given a tour by Jessica W. her attitude is contagious and she was extremely committed to insuring my Girlfriend, my dog, and myself were comfortable and informed with what to expect from the District, whats to come for the District, and was refreshingly honest and up front with the improvements that are being made and are to come at the Ditstric. I am looking to relocate to the Gilbert area and all I can say is WOW! From the moment I was greeted by the manager(Ingrid) I was impressed! She was welcoming and extremely informative! I was shown the apartments by Jess and all I can say is WOW...again! I felt like I was at home already! I love the feel of the community AND it's walking distance to everything I want! LOVE this community. My wife, two dogs and I have been proud to call this place home for the past year and a half, until now... Recently, we have been made aware from management that there have been complaints from a surrounding neighbor regarding our noise level. We believe these noises to be regular apartment living noises (which we were told regarding the 1st filed complaint). At first these complaints were coming in and we were told there was no actual proof these complaints were warranted and that they're more of a notification to us regarding our noise level. We are now being told of a policy, which we were never told before, that after 5 complaints(we're apparently on our 4th), it's an automatic eviction (WITHOUT PROOF OF EXCESSIVE NOISE). We've tried reaching out to upper management regarding this issue and have only been ignored. So if you take anything away from this review, BEWARE of renting an upper level unit as complaints can be warranted based off of heresay and no tangible proof. read more
