This rating is between a 3 and 4. Ken, the owner is part of the family that owns Rosa's etc. I love Rosa's, the ambiance, food, prices, here is quite different and quiet. I made a reservation and we were seated promptly in a booth. We were given menus, water and bread. Our server was Emily, she answered all our questions and was quite nice. I tried a white wine I didn't care for, so asked for a certain red, they were out of it. Asked for another one, Merlot also out. So picked a Robert Mondavi Merlot and said ok, we would like a bottle. Didn't even look at the bottle at first, then noticed it was a Cab. It was good, but we thought we were drinking a Merlot?? She ended up taking it off the bill but we did not feel comfortable with that so she put it back on. My husband and I both had the nights special, penne, vodka sauce and chicken, it was ok. We both got soup or salad with the dinner picked the salad. Quite good, with cute carrot flower, cucumber etc. Ken the owner was very friendly, talking to us and others. A lot of locals come here, as prices are very reasonable. We will go back, my husband wants to try the pizza. I saw quite a few people picking up to go orders.

The food and service was great. Great tasting Italian food and prices reasonable for dinner. This is a family owned restaurant and their sauce was amazing. The owner even came by to see how everything was going. I would recommend them as a great tasting quality authentic Italian dinner. We are definitely going to visit them again when we ate in the area

I'll be honest, the name threw me for a loop as I was expecting this place to be by the water - it certainly was not but none the less, it was a cute place, romantic, and pretty quiet but I can also see this place being the hub for family birthdays and friend get togethers as well. There was ample seating inside and outside. We had come on a Saturday night in January and we were seated right away. I noticed there were a few tables with 'reserved' signs on them so during busier months being able to call ahead and have your table reserved is always a plus. All the employees we had the privilege of meeting were lovely and the food was pretty good. My fiancé and I enjoyed both of our pasta dishes, although it was your standard Italian food, a step up from Olive Garden but nothing too spectacular. The bruschetta on the other hand was a must, so delicious! The bread was thick and the mixture was plentiful but you better eat it fast because it did become soggy pretty quickly. We ended our night with a cannoli and again, just your standard cannoli. All in all, I think eating here once was enough but if I'm ever in the area and craving some bruschetta, I know where to go.

Great old school Italian restaurant. Went here on a Friday night. Not too busy but had reservations. I had the half and half spaghetti and meat raviolis. My wife had lasagna. Both very good. Came with warm bread. We brought a bottle of wine and paid reasonable corkage of $8. Great meal and nice decor

Warm, welcoming, and utterly delicious. The manicotti was divine, the service felt like family, and the spumoni ice cream was the perfect ending. A five-star experience from start to finish.

Excellent food, service and ambiance! Love everything there! Fresh and delicious! We will be back.

Food was amazing and not over priced, server and service was awesome, this place is a gem! I highly recommend if you're in the Morro Bay area!

    Brociole with Penne

We were in SLO and driving back to Cambria and decided to have an early dinner In Morro Bay. I was craving Italian and remembered seeing the sign for Distasio's so we headed there. We weren't sure what we would find or how the meal would be. Turns out we had a delicious meal, good service and a nice pleasant dinner. My wife had the chicken marsala and it was very good. She was satisfied and would order it again. I ordered the brociole which is something you typically wouldn't find on an Italian restaurant menu. I had it years ago when a grandmother of a friend made it for a family gathering. This brociole was pretty close to that one from the past. It's a thin piece of pounded beef sirloin and rolled with spices and breadcrumbs, tied together and cooked in a tomato based sauce. The hours of simmering creates a decadent sauce and the meat is extra tender. Wow!!! We had some Chianti and dessert and had a great time. We will definitely be back. It wasn't busy because we were there just after they opened but by the time we left, it was getting busy. I can't wait to go back for more of their simple but delicious food.

It's a nice restaurant with a lot of seating. The food had good flavor. I had a rib eye and I really liked it. Cooked well and for a decent price. Our server was very friendly and helpful. She had great suggestions to help with our decisions.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

The best lobster roll I had previously was in Boston, but this one surpassed it. The lobster was fresh and juicy, and the roll was perfectly toasted. I would also highly recommend the fries. They were thin and crispy, almost like a french fry and potato chip had a baby. The service was solid, and our food came out quickly. The surrounding area is clean and there are picnic tables, restrooms nearby and a dedicated parking lot, although it can get pretty crowded. When we entered the dog-friendly patio with our little Goldendoodle, Bailey, a large dog seated at the table closest to the only patio entrance lunged toward her and bared its teeth. Since it was the only way in and out, I let the staff know I was concerned. They immediately spoke with the owners, who moved their dogs farther under the table, and after our meal, the owner's father went above and beyond by opening the rope barriers so we could exit another way and avoid walking past them again. Both the father and son were incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating, which we really appreciated. Once we were settled, we were able to enjoy the beautiful patio. It's a quaint waterfront spot with gorgeous views, a relaxing atmosphere, and the perfect setting to enjoy fresh seafood. Bailey was promptly brought a complimentary bowl of water, and we loved seeing so many other well-behaved dogs enjoying the patio. It's easy to see why this restaurant has such a great reputation for being dog friendly. We ordered the King Salmon Quesadilla special, and it was absolutely delicious. It was packed with generous portions of fresh salmon, plenty of melted cheese, and vegetables, and it was more than enough for my mom and me to share. My brother also really enjoyed the tri-tip sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and was served hot. While we wish the aggressive dogs had been seated somewhere other than the only entrance to the patio, that wasn't the restaurant's fault, and they handled the situation as well as they could. By the way, clean bathrooms are outside the restaurant in a separate building. Parking is all along the water front...no problem. A very nice and surprisingly varied menu is all yours. Dinner menu has more seafood and upscale dishes than the lunch offerings. Both are great. Wife had the sandwich and their green chili soup 1/2 & 1/2 ($13 + $2.50). Really good and different. They have this chile soup mixed with chowder which is, to me, even more excellent. My lunch was shrimp enchiladas ($23). Service is great. Lots of choices for the non-fish foodie. - Exterior: Ramshackle, but in an okay way. There's a good size patio and indoor seating. - Ambiance: Very casual. Jeans...shorts...polo shirts and sneakers. Dogs are welcome on the patio. - Food: A very good version of "diner food". I had the Veggie Sandwich ($17) with avocado, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, tomato and sprouts with cheddar and jack cheese, mayo and mustard on sourdough bread. It came with a big bunch of good sized fries. My wife had a Half Sandwich of turkey and avocado ($14) on a french roll with a side salad. She said it was fine. Our friends each had a sandwich - both came with side orders of either fries or a salad - and seemed to be happy. - Service: Excellent. Our server - a young guy Named Hamilton - was a nice combination of friendly and knowledgeable with a good sense of when to drop by the table. - Price and Value: Reasonable portions of tasty food at a fair price. - Parking: No problem. There's a long parking lot along the marina. - Bathroom: Interesting. There's nothing in the Bayside Cafe, but you've got access to 4 bathrooms in 2 small buildings behind the restaurant which are shared with boaters and kayakers. The Bayside Cafe sits in a picturesque setting serving good food without the crowds closer to town. However, it is popular and a 15-30 minute wait is likely during the summer months.

Our server at the bar, a young woman, was very friendly and attentive. We can be a little…read moreProgressive Auto Commercial these days but she rolled with our non-sensical banter. Mostly we were excited about the mid 90's, early 2000's music playlist that included Biggie; Bone, Thugs, & Harmony; Craig Mack; and some classic R&B joints I'm failing to remember right now. All this while we enjoyed two very cold beers - Michelob ultra for the babe and a Big Sur Double IPA on tap at 9.6 ABV for me. All this, paired with the wings, which were outstanding BTW, and it made for a great stop. Other things to know. -Order of 12 wings can be split into two flavors (choice of buffalo, bbq, or mild). We went with buffalo and bbq extra crispy. -The buffalo have an added pepper seasoning that we loved -Bathrooms are downstairs (there's also an elevator) -2 of the 3 TV's at the bar were not working (biggest critique) -There is outside seating with view of the rock and a beautiful sunset if you time it right (we did, but it was a bit hazy due to the fog or overcast or whatever you call it) -Also, we didn't try any other food so we can't vouch for much else but everything people had looked good and we didn't hear any complaints. TRY IT OR DIET FINAL WORD Definitely try it. Matter of fact, we're going to take our own advice and try it again later today!

Good food, lots of options, kids menu, and friendly service…read more I was impressed at the kid's menu with all their options. My daughter's chicken strips were a big portion and they were tender and juicy. I got a salad with grilled chicken and the chicken was kind of dry. My other daughter got the Tri tip sandwich was a little tough, but the tater tots were crispy and delicious. Sitting outside can be a gamble as there will be numerous seagulls hovering around you. None of the seagulls were aggressive, but I felt like I had to constantly keep an eye out.
