I'll start by being a bit of a butt. The Rockwall location stinks. Even though it's right next to an Applebees you can get a nibble and a drink at within walking distance. I've been bringing my cars to this Discount Tire for 10 yrs at least (I had kids so 4 vehicles back in the day), the folks here are friendly, the products are top notch (I have to use run-flats), the insurance is worth it, because Discount obviously understands that manufacturers "guarantees" aren't very reasonable, especially in Texas, the heat and road conditions wear them down a lot. let me tell you my story. I went to get an oil change and a tire rotation just to be told that my tires were about to explode and I needed it for new ones. He really didn't want me to drive because he said it's too dangerous to be on the road with those tires. I was devastated. I thought everything was going well and then all of a sudden I get hit with this. I went to Discount Tire because I've been there before and I met Cody. He saw that I was a mess and he helped me out. He looked for the best possible tire at the best possible price and found a discount he just worked his magic and made it happen. It's very humbling to be in this situation. To whomever it may concern I visited this location with a screw in my front passenger tire,right the very middle of the tire the person greet me at door walked out to vehicle seem the screw and immediately start looking for another problem.he told me the tire was a 2020 tire in perfect condition but policy would not permit them service the tire, I proceeded to let him know the car is garaged kept,with only 9k. Miles since 2015 there was no tire rot or cracking anywhere on the tire,but he insisted the policy forbade them from touch it.no compromise or no customer concern.luckily the vehicle wasn't on flat so drove about 3.5 mile to another tire service center and within 5 minutes my tire was plugged and I was on my way, now that's "CUSTOMER SERVICE"from this point on discount tire will not be my first choice for service nor my second choice.thanks discount! read more

Where do I start lol Damaged brand new wheels, tried blaming on vendor and when asked why they didn't initially inspect, I got a blank stare. Missing parts from order, even when I was assured multiple times that everything was ready. They simply could not complete simple tpms swap and tire mount. Ridiculous when you spend over 2k and waste full day dealing with their incompetence, then get offered $80 rebate. Was flabbergasted when employees and manager just brushed it off. I have never used this location as I live closer to Sachse and Wylie but had taken my car to the dealership and was told a crazy price for a replacement tire that had a nail in it. Always disappointed! They just don't care. No greeting when you walk in the door. Two guys standing at the counters, entirely ignored me. I understand this work takes time, I was in the industry. No call that the work was done. Everything takes too long. But to be fair, I think the failing is in the desk people, not necessarily the techs. Kelly was awesome. First thing they do is a tire tread survey. In hopes that they can sell you new tires. I went in for a simple tire repair job. Single screw in the thickest part of tread and they want contingent plan for if they find another object or the tire can't be repaired. Meaning buy a new tire or put spare on. Horrible sales tactics but I am sure it's taught by ownership to rape the public. Solution - drove down the street and paid $20 for a plug + inside patch. Fixed in 30 minutes. To give a little context, I was very stressed out due to having many appointments to make the same day I discovered my tire had 2 nails and was running very low. As you can imagine, I needed to fix it right away. I was able to drop off the car at this location, and felt so good when they told me the tire was reparable. I was able to drop off the car and run to appointments and come back. In no time, the car was ready, even before it was promised. I was so happy I came here. Never had a good experience here. Previously, I've brought in a flat to be repaired. After service, I got home and realized they didn't actually repair the tire so I had to drive back a second time. Another time, ordered tires online and got a confirmation email that they were ready at the shop for installation. I hate even giving this location only 1 Star because the first time I came here to purchase a new tire was an amazing experience! I came back to get my tire checked because the light came on and I waited 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me! I ended up getting out of my car and politely asked if someone would be able to help me. The guy said "yeah in a bit." Horrible customer service! I can't believe I waited 20 minutes to check one tire. Had the staff acknowledged me and said it's going to be about 29 minutes I wouldn't have minded at all. Avoid this Discount Tire location!!! If you don't, you will probably experience some of the problems I had with the service here. At best, it is slipshod, and, at worst, possibly dishonest. My 2017 Chevrolet Impala is equipped with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). This is the system that utilizes sensors in the tires to send the current pressure of each tire to my dashboard. After a recent puncture repair, I noticed that the sensor for that particular tire was not working properly. When I informed Discount Tire of this, they assured me that the sensor would reset itself after I drove a while. Well, it never did (see attached photo). So, did the sensor fail on its own? Did they damage the sensor? Or, worst case, did they switch out my good sensor with a bad one (Intentionally or otherwise)? I don't know for certain, but the end result is still the same...I'm stuck with a defective sensor. BTW, TPMS sensors have an average life expectancy of 7 years. Mine are only 4 years old. Complaint number 2 also involves the TPMS. Anytime the position of a tire is changed, such as in a tire rotation, the TPMS has to be re-programmed to show the new location of each tire. Otherwise, if there is a problem with a tire, your dashboard will not show its true location. This Discount Tire location failed to do this on two occasions. The re-programming takes about 1 MINUTE (seriously...because I do it myself now), but requires a special tool (Costs all of about $15 - $20. My advice, get one! Incredibly simple to use!) If you choose not to heed my warning and seek service here, do yourself a favor and remove your valve caps prior to giving Discount Tire your vehicle. Otherwise, you may find them missing when your vehicle is returned to you. I have experienced this twice. This may sound like a trivial issue, but valve caps serve a purpose, otherwise you wouldn't need them. They keep dirt and debris out of your valve stem so it functions properly. Again, are the missing valve caps the result of slipshod work or theft? I'll let you decide. read more
