I called the shop the next morning and told them that I thought it was either a pass lock anti theft issue because of worn ignition assembly or the fuel pump. I told them the fuel pump was warrantied by another shop so that I would obviously be taking the truck there if that's what it ended up being. Well they tell me it was the fuel pump. When I came to get the truck they charged me $140 ish bucks - give or take - to tell me it was the fuel pump. My issue is that they should have known from the jump I may not give them the business because of the warranty. Why was I not told the price for diagnostic until they had the keys to my truck and I had no choice but to pay it? I may have paid been fine with them running diagnostic. If they would have told me about the service that they were providing, with a price, before they performed it. When I protested I was told "sir, any other shop would do the same." Well, I hope that any other shop would inform me they do not give free estimates or diagnostics before they held my truck hostage after they scanned it. It's dishonest, or not transparent, at least.
