So what is the deal when you buy a new car that it doesn't come with a spare tire? This applies to certain types of cars and mine is one of them. I drove around for many years thinking I had one. It's when I had a flat tire that I found out the hard way, no spare. I did a bit of checking on spare tire/wheel tires prices. Discount Tire had the best price so I took a drive. This office was super busy and I expected to wait a bit. Staff were pleasant. He estimated possibly 5 minutes to an hour. It depended on availability of staff. 10 minutes later, someone rolls out my new spare and placed it in the rear of the car for me. Now I can rest assured that I will be covered with a spare should I need it. Shared parking and WiFi in the store. read more

One of the worst experiences we've had at Discount, unfortunately. Came in around noon to have our tire fixed as it had a nail in it and they said it would be about an hour and 45 min. No worries... except over 2 hours later we see them pull the truck into a bay and the guy starts taking off the wrong tire. My husband goes and catches him... they finally, at least 1/2 hour later start putting the fixed tire on and do not torque the first one he took off! When my husband went to get into his truck, which has light grey cloth seats... it was COVERED in dirt and Grease... not sure if it will come out. Ridiculous One good thing was one of the guys apologizing to us for it taking so long which we did appreciate. read more

I visited this location two days ago June 3 to have all four of my tire pressure sensors replaced. I was a walk-in. They told me it would be about two hours as I was waiting into two hours. There was a customer that came in a half an hour behind me as a walk-in no appointment and he complained that he was waiting too long and then they put him next in the stall, I then went up to the sales desk and asked them why they were putting a customer ahead ahead of me when he arrived 30 minutes after I did as a walk-in they had no answer for me. I told him I will come back another day and the salesman told me we have your sensors ready you're next to go in the stall and I said well I should've been in the stall 30 minutes ago when you put that customer that arrived 30 minutes after me. read more

Apparently I forgot to update my review when I was in here during the summer, but I was in here again yesterday... Four more new tires for me. As always the staff were friendly and professional, I was especially impressed as they were overrun with customers and having some system issues that were making life hard, but despite all of that, they put on a brave face and took care of people. The waiting room and bathroom were clean and shiny. The actual explanation of what tires were best, etc. was great and as usual the actual work was completed to a high standard. I was in there quite a while due to the aforementioned hiccups, but they took great care of me. As always their prices offer great value when compared to other similar establishments which is also a factor when I'm deciding where to go. I must say that today's America is really starting to disappoint. We have lost our way as a people and country and it makes me sad for our children. But not the guys at Discount Tire! Xander and Wally and all the guys have never failed to impress me with their work ethic, effort and kindness. If they make a recommendation, I do it without hesitation because they are the best and always fair and honest. Today, I brought in my daughters horse trailer for tire sensors and programming. The Discount Tire guys had done the tires a few weeks ago but we didn't have the tire pressure sensors. I only use these guys for all my tire needs. I brought the sensors in and a few hours of confusion ensued. Ford had seen fit to incorrectly describe how to program trailer tire pressure sensors. We started following Fords instructions, then we changed to universal sensors, then we watched internet videos, we even tried chatGPT... all wrong. But the guys never gave up, never quit and eventually Xander figured out how to program the original sensors through a menu in the HUD and we are up and running! I ordered some new Falken tires for my truck at this location. 285/75r16. Same tire and size that I've ran on the truck for 10 plus years. Pretty standard size. A week later when the tires arrived at the store, I took my wheels in to have the new tires put on. They refused to install the new tires due to them being an "unsafe" size for my wheels, even though I pointed out the SAME EXACT TIRE AND SIZE is currently on the wheel right in-front of them. Not to mention I haven't changed tire brand, or size in over ten years. Fully refunded, I took my money down the street to a local shop that was happy to install the tires I wanted. Went to discount tires on Bell Avenue in Surprise to have two new golf cart tires put on rims. The employees are always very welcoming and took my tires and rims and told me it would be about two hours. Since I had to wait I waited for the tires. The store was somewhat busy but not a lot waiting. After about two hours I inquired if they were getting any closer and was told there were still four vehicles in front of me. About another half hour I inquired again and saw several employees talking to each other then what I believe was a manager came out and said they couldn't get the tires to seal on the rims. I ask what was the solution and was told get a refund on the new tires. Finally I just ask to have the old tires put back on which after more time was done. I guess what was exhausting was that the several hours it took to have them tell me that when it was just a quick determination to tell me that, and charge me $20. The next day I took them to another tire shop who successfully mounted the tires in about 20 minutes, and said there wasn't any problem with the tires or rims. read more

Discount Tire used to do really good work, but now the managers hide in the office and the rest of the employees are only trained to sell. They don't know anything about cars. Ordered 4 high-end tires thru Tire Rack (that Discount now owns) and had Discount Tire install them. The tires are great. Unfortunately, I picked up a screw at about 6k miles. I stopped to see if they could repair it and the rep said no-good because the screw was too close to the sidewall. OK. I asked the guy to check if I had warranty. He said no. They did not have a record of my install and claimed I only ordered 2 tires picked up? I also found out the $88 I paid for "warranty" was only for maintenance. I.E., tire rotation. I can get tires rotated for $20 every 7,500 miles, if needed. Discount's service and pricing seems to be sliding since the founder passed away a few years ago. read more

Four months ago My brand new Honda Accord had a flat tire in just 3 days after purchase. And the closest tire shop was this discount tire. They repaired the flat tire I left in the shop so fast I could only get a burger and didn't have time to eat it and they called me saying it's done. Then they removed the spare and mounted the repaired tire in less than 15 while I waited. It was the fasted flat tire service I have ever experienced. Highly recommend this shop. I bought two trailer tires at Discount on Carefree Hwy and had them mounted. When I got home, I noticed that neither wheel had any weights on it. I called discount and talked with the Sr Asst Manager. I mentioned that I have rarely seen a wheel/tire combination that did not need weights, so seeing two would be rare. He replied that its rare but happens. I asked that he check with the tech that mounted the tires to see if he balanced them. He put me on hold and later came back and replied that the tech remembered checking them and no weights were needed. The manager offered to recheck the balance, so I took the tires and wheels back to discount. When I got there, the Asst Manager asked the salesperson that sold me the tires to re-check the balance. He did and needed to add weights to both wheels. The salesperson helped me load the wheels and tires back into my SUV and apologized for the inconvenience. I asked him to let the manager know what had happened. I never heard anything from the manager or anyone from Discount after that. Discount used to be my go to store for tires and service, but lately most of my experiences have not gone well. They called me the next day after they were closed and said they had the tire but they were booked solid the next day. I made an appointment for the following day. My flat could not be fixed and they installed the new tire in 1 hour. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and polite. I do think they sat on my tire for two days. Two days without a vehicle. I have been a loyal Discount Tire customer for decades and they have been awesome...until recently. On 2 recent, but separate occasions I have had to order tires that they didn't have in stock. The store was supposed to call me when they arrived the next day to schedule the install. Both times I had to call the store several times only to find out they had received the tires very early in the day, but both times never bothered to call to let us know they had them and were ready for the install. Minor inconvenience, I know and not much to gripe about except by the time you get ahold of them, it is late in the afternoon and now you are stuck waiting for them to get to your work because everyone seems to show up after 3:00 PM and both times they barely finished before closing for the day. However, the kicker today was that it was really late in the day and I had prior commitments, so my wife had to handle the install part. Now she is mad at me because she has to handle the install because they can't confirm timely that they got the tires. She arrived and they told her it would be done in an hour. An hour comes and goes and the car hasn't been been moved from the original parking spot. She approaches the service team to ask when they will get to the car and what the ETA to complete is. They advise her the work has been done and she can take the car. She gets her keys, goes out to the car, and thankfully checks the tire just to make sure before leaving only to find the same old tire with the punctured side wall and large thorn sticking out of it. She goes back in to advise them the tire wasn't changed and had to wait another 45 minutes to get them to do the work they mistakingly had told her had been completed. In the meantime they had taken in at least 3 more cars that arrived after her and proceeded to do their tires first! As a customer I shouldn't have to chase them to track down the tires I ordered. Moreover, I shouldn't have to check every aspect of their work to make sure they actually did what they were supposed to have done, and were paid for. I realize now I made the critical mistake of paying for the tires, both times, when I ordered the tires. Never again. I won't pay Discount Tire a dime until the repair is completed. Twice now they have acted like since they have my money, they can drag their feet to actually complete the work. Sadly, they even lied to our faces that the work had been done. You are so much better than this Discount Tire! Please fix your service issues. Pricing, products, and warranty are good, but please follow through when you say you will call and moreover, don't tell us you did work you didn't do and then push us to the back of your long line at the end of the day. Update on 4/20/2022. Gave them another chance. Not only did they tell me they can't repair my tire, they told me they aired all tires up to factory specs (didn't do anything as 3 tires were still overinflated 5psi and one was 10 psi low), moreover they also got grease all over the interior of my car. They are at a new low and if you don't check every single aspect of what this location says they have done, chances are you will arrive home to find nothing done on your vehicle. I was assured that I would be done by no later than 11:00am. At 11:55, I told them that there was no way it was going to be ready in time and that I needed my keys so that I could leave. They said I was next up, and I asked, "Why would I make an appointment for 10am, arrive early, and sit there for over an hour, and they were just getting ready to get me in the bay next when there were three empty bays for the past 20 minutes?" This Discount Tire Shop deserves a Five Star rating after my One Star review of the shop in North Scottsdale on Scottsdale Road next to the Discount Headquarters. I called the shop Friday and asked if they had a tire that I had preselected from their website. They did not but offered to pick it up and have it there for me the next day. I suggested giving them a couple of days and we settled on an appointment on Monday morning. On Monday at the appointment time I showed up. NO outside line to deal with but much busier than the shop on North Scottsdale Road. After collecting my information they asked me to have a seat. 45 minutes later I was paid and out the door. Called for an appointment to repair a nail leak in a tire on my class C motorhome. The plan was to provision it for an early am departure. Surprisingly, at 3pm I was told to bring it in and it would be repaired by 5pm. Not sure I believed them but I had no choice as there are no alternatives nearby. I stopped by Discount Tire to have them check air pressure in one of my tires that was displaying a warning light. It was close to 5pm, there was a large horse trailer blocking space and all bays were full - clearly they were super busy. A young man came over and was very pleasant - think his name was Chad. Even though they were busy he took his time, offered to have my low tire checked and checked air on all my tires not just the one with low pressure. He did it all with a smile and treated me like my issue was just as important as any other work he needed to do, great job! I left there knowing I will always be a Discount Tire fan and that young man made my day! read more

I've had 3 cars go here, 10 tires total in the last 3 months. The first two were no issue. On the third one, they told me they had Michelins available. When the car got there, they said they didn't and treated my wife poorly. I got them on the phone and settled on another tire for all 4. At 6:22pm they called to say the car was ready and was I coming to pick it up? I said I would in the morning. In the morning my wife went down there and not only was the car not ready, they didn't even have the tires in stock yet that they promised to put on. There are some seriously crossed wires at this location, and you might consider choosing a different one. Burger King is hiring. UPDATE: On the way out of the shop, I got about half a mile away and then noticed lights flashing on the dashboard....then I saw the hood bumping around! The hood was left open! Or more correctly, was opened for some reason it didn't need to be. Why would they need to pop the hood to change a tire? And if they did, why didn't theyclose it?
