I bought my tires @ the Discount Tire in Mt Prospect. I have been meaning to bring the car in and have the tires rotated but keep forgetting to do this. I called Discount Tires yesterday to find out what the mileage was when I bought them knowing the rotation was probably due. Imagine my surprise when I found out I had already put on over 10,000 miles since I purchase them (I drive a lot). They recommend 6 - 8,000 miles for the rotation so it was a little past due. I was out in Naperville today. There are 2 locations in Naperville so I called both locations but neither one was able to take me this week. Naperville is over 40 miles from where I live so coming next week wasn't an option, besides I was overdue for a rotation already. I called the DT in Aurora even though this was about 16 miles further west than where I was @ in Naperville. They said I were taking walk ins so I drove out to Aurora it took about 25 minutes. I was in & out of DT in about 30 minutes. Thank you for the quick turn around it was greatly appreciated. Driving the additional distance had an added advantage. Woodman's Gas station was just over 1 mile away from DT & very close to I-88 which I jumped on to come back to Chicago. The gas is only $304.9/gallon so I filled up saving myself a trip to Costco later. read more

(something I can do in less than 10 minutes in my own garage, but due to that voiding their warranty, you have to take your car in and have them do it.) well it's now 10:45 and still my car is not being worked on. Wow... I had an appointment for 3:45 and they scheduled it for the wrong week. They rescheduled it for 4:45 the next date. When I got there on time, the tech went out to check my car in their parking lot, he started talking with someone who pulled up next to my car. After he was talking to him for over 10 minutes, I went out to ask how long it would take, and I was told in a flippant manner that they have up to an hour to start working on my car. I'm not looking to replace my tires, but when I do, I do Discount Tire! I've been coming here for, oh, let's see...five vehicles. That's 15 years and includes mine and my wifes vehicles. I've always had a great experience here. While other tire shops use sleazy tactics in selling you tires and services you don't need, while making you wait hours upon hours, Discount takes the opposite approach. They'll show you comparable tires and prices and find the best values for your purchase and vehicle. They also don't try to sell you services you don't need. They once talked me out of getting a set of tires as the tread in my current tires still had some life in them. Best of all, they install quickly and efficiently here. Free air check and you don't even have to get out of your car, plus pretty excellent service! I promise you, It's better to have an appointment for prompt and faster service. I come here pretty often for an free check and a tire rotation. I've also came here when I haven't had an appointment for a tire rotation and it was so busy I must have waited over an hr to two not fun. They offer free water, coffee, hot chocolate, and even recently during the 4th of July week they had free cookies, chips, for all guests. Which was awesome! If you purchase tires from them and purchase I think it's called certificates you have lifetime free tire rotations and balance. never been more disappointed. had my car there for a flat and since it was towed in and have a young daughter couldn't afford to wait the 2.5 hours it usually takes even with an appt. I was told i would receive a call when they decided what work was to be done on my car. no one ever called me. the car got there at 8am. by 2pm no one called. i had to call them. which they proceeded to tell me it had been ready and the work was already complete. WITHOUT discussing it with me first and that they threw away all my Lexus manufacturer caps. i also never was asked if i wanted to keep them. asked them to please remove them from the trash. I ended up with not only someone else's tire caps , but NONE of them matched and they certainly weren't what were on he car when it came in. no one took any responsibility and tried to replace the unmatched caps with plastic caps that look like they'll blow off the second I get my car washed. was also told they checked air presssure in all tires which is funny bc the cap on my back tire was the only one still left bc it's STUCK ON but again "assured me" they checked all 4. save yourself time and go somewhere else !! They offered to replace all caps with the cheap plastic one but it was not worth my time as i planned On purchasing a longer lasting cap as soon as i left. read more

I came in today for an appointment I made at 1:30 for a tire rotation. Came in early and explained I had to be out by 1:55 the guy explained that it would take close to an hour! Unless a tire rotation includes something more then taking the tires off, rotating them and putting them back on. I'm not sure why it takes this long. Ended up having to go to Jiffy Lube and spend $23 for them to do it. Which their estimated time to do it was 5-6 mins. Thanks discount tire. Maybe I'll have to start taking my business elsewhere. read more

I had an absolute great experience at this location. They provided me with the best service that I've encountered in awhile. Every employee I saw was following safe guidelines during these times of a pandemic. The facility was very clean, employees worked efficiently and the prices are super competitive, which is ultimately why I chose this location. The manager Matt was great and checked in with me during my appointment. He was extremely knowledgeably and answered all questions that I had. today I went to a balancing and rotation service for my car and Simon E Q he attended me which I realized that he is one of the worst salesperson representatives of that establishment my tires are very good but he insisted and wanted to sell me some !! which he refused to do the rotation made me. You'd think a tire and wheel shop would know their way around a car, but surprisingly they don't know as much as they should. What a waste of time and money. If you're a manager and guarantee a tire and wheel are going to fit and then they don't you'd think they would have a suggestion to fix the problem. After a couple visits To this shop with nothing but failed outcomes I Come to find out the wrong wheel offset was ordered. Instead of admitting his mistake his suggestion was ordering after market spacers. I promise I will never walk into another discount tire again. Make sure you call first and make an appointment. DON'T just walk in. If you do, will be left standing there while they answer phone call after phone call after phone call. When I arrived there was a man who had been waiting for a long time to be taken care of. He had to stand far back from the counters because of social distancing. Although there were three guys at the counter working on the computers, whenever the phone rang, they would answer the phone call instead of taking care of the customer who was waiting. read more

The tire pressure indicator light came on today, Saturday. 2/15/20. I had seen on a local area inquiry that DISCOUNT TIRE offered FREE air pressure checks. Reluctantly, I headed there. I came here to get a tire balance and rotation because I was feeling a little tire wobble when I was driving. When I arrived the technician looked at my tires and said that they were too low to balance them and it would basically be pointless so I should just buy new tires. This is total BS even if the tires were low on tread you can do a tire balance and it will not be pointless. They will make up whatever BS they want in order to sell you tires. Instead of helping you out they would rather send you on your way cause you didn't buy their tires. I will never come here again or give this place a dime of my money. Today was my first visit to Discount Tire. I'd heard good things from friends about the Naperville location and thought I would try this Aurora location because it's closer to my house. I made an appointment ahead of time. I arrived a little before the appointment, but I didn't have to wait. I talked to the salesperson about what I needed. He looked at my car and made recommendations. I made a decision and they got right to it. I was on my way in less than an hour. The price I paid was less than I'd anticipated. Went in with what I thought was one tire with a nail and an expectation to drop money. They walked me around the car and found a second nail and a bad tire. Then walked me through the process and kept reassuring me that they'd do everything they could. I sat down waiting for a huge bill. Nope, they patched two holes AND rotated my tires for FREE!!! Refused to fix my wife's tire saying it had more miles on the tires than the tires were made for. The worker said the tire was unrepairable and that it was for our safety. Unfortunately for him I had taken the tread measurements before my wife went to the store and I knew they were fine. I took the car to 2 other tire places, and both said the tires still had PLENTY of tread on them, and that they would be happy to fix the tire. The tire was repaired without any problems. Good for the new store they now have a loyal customer. Everytime my wife goes there by herself they tell her she needs new tires, but when I go not a peep is said. Disgusting service and will not be back. read more
